Police Request No Edl Clothing At Nuneaton!

hard to decide which side of the fence to sit with this debate as both have valid arguments.
i think the police request is in response to previous requests for no edl clothing as they are reying on edl members to say "f**k you" and wear them. they are then able to identify them, if any trouble kicks off, there in all its glory are edl shirts to blame, no shirts means they have no group to blame it on.

They can say what they like, but where is the picture of an EDL top? You know the press will be there just waiting for it to kick off. If it does it could be anyone couldn't it? I'm very patriotic so I understand your concerns of being told that I should not be able to wear something that gives me immense pride. But it's not my birthday party, it's showing our respect for the Armed forces. Plus with no colours on show, they will know we are there but not in uniform.

When the issue of clothing came up, long before the police decided to stick their snouts in, we had collectively agreed that we'd avoid EDL clothing because this is not an EDL demo and because it's the Gurkhas' day and no-one else's.

So we're going to be there, we are goingot meet up afterwards and have a beer. How are the police going to identify us? How will the muzzies know who to kick off at? They won't. This worries the police, we're incognito, hidden but there in unknown numbers. Able to communicate with each other but unseen amongst the crowd. The police don't know who to whack. What if they start on a non EDL member, how will the media react. What will the muzzies do, who will they aim their anger at. Oh my what a nasty and unpredictable outcome. No chance to spot trouble makers and put snatch squads or anything else into place. The muzzies are going to just kick off at any old non muslim and EDL numbers will swell. sh1t! What are we going to do? How are we going to avoid this? Let's bait them into wearing EDL hoodies by asking them not to, they'll do it because they are stupid.

But we aren't stupid. We play by our rules. We make our own decisions and we won't be tricked or played by devious bastards. We, the EDL, decided not to wear hoodies out of deference to the Gurkhas, we don't give a flying what the police or muslims think. This is US doing OUR thing for OUR reasons and not being swayed or provoked into changing OUR plans to give OUR troops respect and honour.

Don't be tricked by the WMP. Don't let them rile you. If they didn't want us in hoodies then they'd have said NOTHING. Yet they chose to make this request, one never made before. Don't fall for their tricks, stay on target. (Starwars moment over).

Has anyone got a help for hero's t shirts or Support or troops or Support our Soldiers tops? It's the Gurka's day after all, let's not spoil it and play into the hands of those that are waiting for the exact moment to strike against us.
I have a H4H Rugby top :) My kids have H4H wrist bands and teddy bears. I even have a H4H tea towel and pen lol.

This is a subject raised on this site and a few of us have agreed it would be a good idea. This site is monotered by the police so maybe they are agreeing with us that it would be a good idea. It is NOT our day it belongs to the hero's that have served us so well, do not forget they have lost comrades and they must also be in our hearts and their memory respected. If the muslims and the uaf want to make complete and utter prats of them selves let them there will be another day.

I can see your point, and this is totally out of character for me and never seen before but I'm starting to change my mind, 'slightly' , as long as we know thats its NOT out of fear, and its NOT because others have told us what to do, but its our OWN decision its simply tactics ;)

Look at the second part of post 37, ;)

I do believe the police have done this for a reason and I don't think for one minute it's anything to do with not upsetting the muslims.

The police have turned people away from demos, loads of times, if the police want to turn people away from Nuneaton on Sunday, they will pick on anyone in EDL clothing, if no one wears it, they can't possibly turn the general public away, cam they? ;)

Exactly. If muslims were to kick off against the gurkhas and the general public responded, the muzzies would get the bad press. But if the press can blame it on a 3 letter acronym, that will be the headline. Barking was blamned on the edl and it detracted from the story

You should watch it! It is about an evil regime (in which almost everyone covers their face) that has designs upon conquering and dominating the galaxy. They sieze control of galatic politics and form "The Empire". They build this giant floating mosque called "The Death Star" and exterminate all who do not sucumb to them.
Fortunately a brave group of "rebels" are aware of their insidious plans and using the power of good eventually defeat the evil empire.

Something seems very familiar about it......

Wow, reasoned debate staying friendly and a change of mind. I'm impressed.

I do think one thing. EDL Needs to put out clear, short, public press releases for the benefit of the media. They won't run them in full like they do with anything written by some other groups, but they stand as a record of the intention of the leadership. That goes a long way to mitigate the actions of any who disagree.

Brian of London has been actively occupying a very small slice of hideously over-occupied Tel Aviv since early 2009.

Bumping this post because it's vitally important IMHO.
Disenfranchised Briton has pitched it exactly right.
I'm going to bump the thread from over a week ago, when the issue of clothing was first discussed, above it.
This is for the benefit of any late-comers who might buy into the "appeasement" argument.
Let's be ordinary members of the public on Sunday, not targets. Show the Gurkhas how much we respect and appreciate them.
Take plenty of pics, have a great day and stay safe.
See you all there.

The wayCertain OB forces have treated us I must admit my first reaction was to say Fcuk em, they cant tell me what to wear etc especially as they will not dare tell the mozzies what to wear ie no burkas etc.

However thinking about it..

This is not an EDL event, and the main objective of the day is to respect the Gurkas. Thus I'm going to join the England footy top crew. If the mozzies are offended by that then I'm sorry but they are in the wrong country.

This post is going round in circles >facepalm<

This is not an EDL event - it's the Gurkha's home coming parade.

The police requested no colours at the parade - but said nothing about wearing them afterwards.

After our last visit the OB will expect us. The local muslim youth will expect us. And NUJ will be all over it.

I'm 100% proud to be part of the EDL (a little too proud at times...) but my question is - what exactly will be achieved by wearing colours?

Im with you on that one mate. theres a good number of us meeting up and between us we decided a while ago not to wear colours. Just come, stand proud, keep it peacefull and welcome the boys home. We can have a beer and a chat after and all go home happy. This is not our event people. Please do the right thing.
