Hi All I hope I've posted in the right bit, I'm new to thiis! I finally became a member yesterday after registering months ago but never posting. The reason I never posted? Because I was uncomfortable. Please read my thread in 'The Cage' for more info http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/topic/3392671/1/#new I've been reading some of the threads today and in particular the one from UKArmy re the Hinduisation of England which I wanted to comment on, but was too late getting there. http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/topic/3395126/1/#new I would like to say Thank You for reaffirming my faith in people. A big reason that people like me shy away from the EDL is because of the views of certain people and the way that we think we (Hindus and Sikhs) are seen. Reading the replies from you guys proves to me that you don't see us 'Brown People' as the same. Hindus and Sikhs (talking from personal experience) are a peaceful people. Of course you get idiots in every culture but to me, the people I work with, spend time with and love, wether they are white, black or brown, I am with them because they are good people. Colour does not come into it. I have a problem. And that problem is Exremist Islam. Thanks for listening Sharper ... A proud Hindu Ps..I'm not being biased, but I honestly think that building is Stunning. |

Sharper, don't know if you read my welcome in that ridiculous 'Hinduisation of Britain' thread, but I think I speak for all of us when I say Hindus are welcome here and we do not see all 'brown people' as the same. Hindu's are peacful people and your religion is one of the kindest, most inviting religions in the world. I would love to see more Hindu temples across Britain. God knows there's enough mosques already! If you have a lot of Hindu friends, then spread the word. Start telling people the truth about the EDL. We are not the racist, knuckle dragging thugs that the media would have the country believe! The people here are all nice people, we are just seriously worried about the ongoing Islamisation of our precious land. |

Welcome to the forum, Sharper. I'm glad you read that thread, because that thread showed the EDL's not just a bunch of think headed street fighting, beer guzzerling thug army. We're an beer guzzerling intellectual army. ![]() Hindus, and Sikhs are in my eyes no threat to anyone's society. The Hindu temple is well deserved, as the Hindu population have virtually no where special to pray. I hope to go their myself to witness the magnificent building

Welcome on board mate. You've obviously come to the conclusion that a very high percentage of people here are cool, and they just want to live harmoniously. Unfortunately, because of the media and a few bigots within the group, everybody is tarred with the same brush. As you rightly pointed out, there are idiots in ever culture. You will find some highly educated articulate people here, and I'm sure you'll find many new friends along the way! |

Hi and welcome. I love that building. Have to be honest. I don't have any burning desire to see more Hindu temples in the UK, or churches, or gurdwaras etc. Don't mind them all the same but most new religious buildings (that should probably just read buildings) look crap. However, if we are to have more religious buildings let them be beautiful temples like that one or fantastic buddhist temples like the one at Wimbledon. Haven't seen a decent looking newbuild church with the exception of the Sagrada Familia. Although they started work on that one nearly 120 years ago so I think it stretches the term new build a bit. Won't be finished for another 20!!! |

Wow, just went out for a little while and got back to se all the replies. Rudeboy, I agree with you. But this is a start. I intend to speak to friends etc and hopefully put a few misconceoptions right. Swag, no mate, don't hold it against you. I'm not a religious person, so the temple issue is of no consequence to me really but it was a talking point about other issues. I completley understand if some people are suspicious of my presence here, but I can assure you I've been around long enough to know that being a troll is a stupid game and you'll always get found out. I'm here because I want to understand the EDL and because I agree with its aims. BUT, the rogue element within it still scares me and thats why it will take a while before I'll feel as comfortable as I should. Be assured guys, I'm just here to learn and spread the word. Not to hurt or wind people up. |

If you read his link Rudeboy i think he has very valid reasons why people arent joining in droves we are struggling with the media to get our point across and show we are not what they make us out to be, but as you can see people are trickling in. 1 man cannot be responsible for bringing an army of his brethren. Once people start to look for themselves and they begin to spread the word then we shall recieve more support. Hopefully that trickle will become a flood Judgeing by some of our vids I could see it being quite intimdating for anyone other than the average white male. Once hindus do get a division more people will be able to see that they have a place in the edl. I suppose its just a case of the right people to spread the word as i found the edl through a friend, since then its been my bread and butter Welcome btw sharper good to have you

Hey Sharper, Don't blame you for being wary of the EDL. The media & UAF have done their best with the propaganda. Also, there have been a few brain farts from EDL members along the way. I think Rudeboy makes a good point. The Hindus of this country should be right behind the EDL. Perhaps you or someone you know can be the person to instigate this. It is inevitable that there will be a rogue element to the EDL. Just like there is a rogue element among football supporters, the police, even doctors. Doesn't mean you wouldn't ever watch a football match, report a crime or go to the hospital. I'm not a religious person either but most of the world's great buildings have been religious. For that reason I like many religious buildings. Don't particularly like what goes on inside them tho. Welcome mate. |

Sharper13 the EDL is still a small ship (but growing ship) in a big ocean but what it needs is less drinking and more different colours. Never saw one racist remark on Saturday and no doubt if there are BNP and Stormfront people amongst the EDL then iam sure they are eating humble pie after the elections and Prick Griffin. I remember the watching the troubles of 2005 between the Muslims and the Afro-Caribbeans and thinking now where are the Black Power group now and would they side with the EDL. I do think there is an image problem with the EDL and the marches remind me sometimes of a Footy hooligans get together or a National Scooter Rally and then image to the outsider is a mix of Skinhead(not proper Skinheads just blokes with shaved heads cuts but did see a few in the proper get up),Football Hooligans protest against militant Islam but also footy hooligans just wanting a kick off (if attacked),a few chavs pissed up i.e the woman pushing the pushchair with her child and drinking a bottle of white lighting etc etc. In truth the UAF seem to be liberal hippy argumentative types while the EDL is working class and roots is in Football but the difference between the UAF and EDL is that the UAF are liars and the EDL seem to be a honest working class movement and the racist thing by not only the UAF but also to your average joe is staring to wear thin. |

Bean Laden and Lord Nelson, thank you for your responces. Yes, Rudeboy is right but like I said earlier, this is a start. From your few guys in Luton to what you have achieved now proves that point. I'm certain there are many people like myself that haven't joined because of the misinormation fed to them. But if I can see through it, then so will they. I am more than happy to speak to friends about this and help them see through the false info, but it will take time. Lord Nelson, I agree but, its still a scary situation to put myself in. I hope to get over that fear as fast as I can. |

Sharper13 if this makes you feel any better i saw one asian lad with the West Yorkshire EDL on the weekend alongside an asian photographer and a reporter who i think was from Al Jeezer and no-one give them any s**t esp with loads of EDL having been drinking. Despite the amount of EDL people drinking(early on and which i didn't till after the march in the Bigg Market as well as the different Football support) i have never felt safer because we where all joined together for one thing (well maybe 2 things if you count Beer )
