I don't think it is possible to stop people talking to the press at demos etc, nor is it especially desirable as it could make us look like a "load of far right thickos" incapable of saying anything without prior approval.
What we do need is for people to stop drinking, be disceplined, swot up on the debate and think about who they are speaking to and what they are saying. ie- everyone is a cadre.
Winston Churchill on Islam ; ' The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world....

Various people are approaching the leadership with proposals from different angles addressing exactly what you're saying. I'm sure one or more of those proposals will be taken up.

We were working on these things after the BBC documentary, and before the Guardian stitch-up. I'm sure this video will just hasten the implementation.

So thanks, Guardian. Every wound you try to inflict just forms scar-tissue, and we'll keep coming back for more :) I'm looking forward to the day we start protesting outside the Guardian's offices.

Exactly right Ruby, people should say no comment to the press unless they have permission to speek for EDL.

Arthur.
How do we stop day trippers talking to the media? Divisional supporters can be disciplined (and probably are).
:$ whoops ...I read that as STRIPPERS talking to the media :'( :D :D

Of course, I mean an undercover reporter who (shock, horror) managed to break news about the Stoke demo in January, and the Bolton demo in March. For pity's sake - this isn't the 16th Century - we don't expect to wait two to four months to get news of what happened elsewhere in the country :) It's actually quite a comical act of journalism.

The question is: why did they do this today?
- spoiler for Newcastle? (it does like the UAF dis-information machine has run out of lies)
- stop people finding out about the Jewish Division?

That they used some 4-month-old footage, and did a volte-face on their balanced coverage of the Geert Wilders demo shows they're dancing to someone's tune. Either that or in March they didn't take us seriously, and now they do.

An excellent Freudian slip Mrs Cheeks - strippers talking to the media on behalf of the EDL ! should raise our profile (and a few other things !) nicely.
On a more serious note, erotic workers such as strippers, belly dancers etc are usually, along with gays and lesbians, amongst the first to be persecuted in islamic states. When I lived in the east end of London several years back, where there are/were quite a few strip pubs, I heard of one incident where a gang of muslim youths burst into a strip pub and started slapping around any customers who looked to be of Pakistani or Bengali origen, calling them bad muslims etc
There also used to be a couple of Pakistani muslim strippers, but the mosques got together and threatened to break their legs ... what cowardly a***holes.

On a slightly optimistic note, I had a look on the Guardian website, and partiicularly the bit where readers are invited to comment on news pieces.

In fact, there is by no means universal approval - many responses are very critical and a lot of the article's dishonest claims are exposed. It's encouraging that even the Guardian's own website, which might be expected to attract a disproportionately high level of visitors who are of the left, contains voices of dissent
