Monster Mosque Pushes Ahead in Shadow of World Trade Center Islamic Death and Destruction

Atlas Shrugs says:

A rendering of the mosque presented to Manhattan's Community Board 1 Financial District Committee.

One might think that the Muslim community might be capable of some sensitivity, considering what a manically sensitive bunch they are about everything. Every time there is a jihad attack (which is happening with increasing frequency), they start wailing on us infidels about Muslim sensitivities and anticipatory and imaginary affronts and insults.

What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center buildings brought down by Islamic attack?

Worse still, the design is a mockery of the World Trade Center building design. Islamic jihad took down those buildings when they attacked, destroyed and murdered 3,000 murders in an act of conquest and Islamic supremacism. What better way to mark your territory than to plant a giant mosque on the still-barren land ofthe World Trade Center ? Sort of a  giant victory lap. Any decent American, Muslim or otherwise, wouldn't dream of such an insult. It's a stab in eye of America. What's wrong with these people? Have they no heart? No soul?

Back in December, Joan Brown Campbell, director of the department of religion at the Chautauqua Institution (http://www.ciweb.org/) in upstate New York and former general secretary of the National Council of Churches of Christ U.S.A. (http://www.ncccusa.org/), who is a supporter of Imam Feisal, acknowledged the possibility of a backlash from those opposed to a Muslim presence at ground zero.

But, she added: “Building so close is owning the tragedy."

This best demonstrates the territorial nature of Islam. This is Islamic domination and expansionism. The location is no accident. Just as Al-Aqsa was built on top of the Temple in Jerusalem. And what about the Hagia Sophia, the ancient cathedral of the church of Constantinople, one of the great buildings of the world, the grandest church in Christendom at that time and for 1000 years thereafter -- and now a mosque? The Aya Sofya mosque -- they didn't change the name, just Islamified it.

How disgusting. The only Muslim center that should be built in the shadow of the World Trade Center is one devoted to expunging the Koran and all Islamic teachings of the prescribed violent jihad and all hateful texts and incitement to violence. The only center in the heart of the WTC should be devoted to a Vatican II for Islam. That is the only kind of Islamic center that would be appropriate, though it probably wouldn't last two minutes without being bombed by devout Muslims.

THE OUTRAGE CONTINUES, as Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, founder of the Cordoba Initiative, talks about his proposal to convert the now-shuttered Burlington Coat Factory on Park Place, two blocks from Ground Zero, into a mosque.

NMGZ: It's been a while since there's been anything to report on the "Ground Zero" Mosque. We, of course, knew that the silence  did not mean the proposed mosque had been forgotten; not a chance.  There intention was to sneak it through. "There's nothing like it," said Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, adding that facilities will be open to all New Yorkers." Ya think? This " D'wah Center"  will cast a rude shadow over Ground Zero reminding everyone of those murdered on 9-11.  SHAME on you, Mayor Bloomberg!

BY Joe Jackson and Bill Hutchinson

A proposal to build a mosque steps from Ground Zero received the support of a downtown committee despite some loved ones of 9/11 victims finding it offensive.

The 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center was unanimously endorsed by the 12-member Community Board 1's financial district committee.

The $100 million project, called the Cordoba House, is proposed for the old Burlington Coat Factory building at Park Place and Broadway, just two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

"I think it will be a wonderful asset to the community," said committee Chairman Ro Sheffe.

Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, who helped found the Cordoba Initiative following the 9/11 attacks, said the project is intended to foster better relations between the West and Muslims.

He said the glass-and-steel building would include a 500-seat performing arts venue, a swimming pool and a basketball court. "There's nothing like it," said Rauf, adding that facilities will be open to all New Yorkers.

Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement and a member of the Cordoba Initiative's board, said donations are being sought to pay for the construction.

Khan said the project has received little opposition.

"Whatever concerns anybody has, we have to make sure to educate them that we are an asset to the community," Khan said.

Khan said her group hopes construction on the project will begin by the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Once built, 1,000 to 2,000 Muslims are expected to pray at the mosque every Friday, she said.

No one at last night's meeting protested the project. But some 9/11 families said they found the proposal offensive because the terrorists who launched the attacks were Muslim.

"I realize it's not all of them, but I don't want to have to go down to a memorial where my son died on 9/11 and look at a mosque," said retired FDNY Deputy Chief Jim Riches - whose son Jim, a firefighter, was killed on 9/11.

"If you ask me, it's a religion of hate," said Riches, who did not attend last night's meeting.

Rosemary Cain of Massapequa, L.I., whose son, Firefighter George Cain, 35, was killed in the 2001 attacks, called the project a "slap in the face."
"I think it's despicable. That's sacred ground,"
said Cain, who also did not attend the meeting.

"How could anybody give them permission to build a mosque there? It tarnishes the area."

Its more than disrepectful, a disgrace and a down right f**king out rage.

I'm wondering how its not been on international news. The biggest terror attack in US and maybe even world history by muslims is having a mosque put right next it?!?!?!

There are more than enough other places in Manhattan where a mosque could be built, but they insist on having it right at the wound of 9/11. This is just another example of them flexing their muscle, showing their dominance - see America, we can get away with everything.

This is just one step too far!
Muslims made 'one step too far' 1,500 years ago.

Do you get the feeling that Muslims are taking the piss? Laughing at us? Islamic culture hates weakness and cowardice. So it is my guess that most Muslims are laughing at us... But not for much longer...

Its a house of worship, how is it at all disrespectful to the people that died in 9/11? There's a difference between extremists and normal muslims who go to a mosque, a HUGE difference.

No Keef yet again your wrong,
If my brother blew up your house would you not be upset if I in the name of my brother came along n built my own house on or near where your house was.

This just shows that the Muslim religion has no thought or compassion for non muslims,as long as they get a poxy mosque who cares who it offends eh?

Maybe it is a cunning plan - the new WTC development is less likely to be a terrorist taget if it is near a Mosque?!

This is one of the most RIDICULOUS stories i heard of.... building a mosque at or near ground zero, it is clearly a ploy devised by certain muslim imams etc... to show off to the U.S and the west. I cant believe this is happening....the yanks have become total laughing stocks for ALLOWING this to happen.

Prefect Example of Taquia:

Is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf — founder of the hugely controversial Ground Zero mosque — lying to the American public and his fellow New Yorkers?

Pajamas Media has uncovered extraordinary contradictions between what he says in English and what he says in Arabic that raise serious questions about his true intentions in the construction of the mosque.

On May 25, 2010, Abdul Rauf wrote an article for the New York Daily News insisting:

My colleagues and I are the anti-terrorists. We are the people who want to embolden the vast majority of Muslims who hate terrorism to stand up to the radical rhetoric. Our purpose is to interweave America’s Muslim population into the mainstream society. [emphasis added]

Oh, really?

Only two months before, on March 24, 2010, Abdul Rauf is quoted in an article in Arabic for the website Rights4All entitled “The Most Prominent Imam in New York: ‘I Do Not Believe in Religious Dialogue.’”

Yes, you read that correctly and, yes, that is an accurate translation of Abdul Rauf. And Right4All is not an obscure blog, but the website of the media department of Cairo University, the leading educational institution of the Arabic-speaking world.

In the article, the imam said the following of the “religious dialogue” and “interweaving into the mainstream society” that he so solemnly seems to advocate in the Daily News and elsewhere:

This phrase is inaccurate. Religious dialogue as customarily understood is a set of events with discussions in large hotels that result in nothing. Religions do not dialogue and dialogue is not present in the attitudes of the followers, regardless of being Muslim or Christian. The image of Muslims in the West is complex which needs to be remedied.

But that was two months ago. More recently — in fact on May 26, one day after his Daily News column – Abdul Rauf appeared on the popular Islamic website Hadiyul-Islam with even more disturbing opinions. That’s the same website where, ironically enough, a fatwa was simultaneously being issued forbidding a Muslim to sell land to a Christian, because the Christian wanted to build a church on it.

In his interview on Hadiyul-Islam by Sa’da Abdul Maksoud, Abdul Rauf was asked his views on Sharia (Islamic religious law) and the Islamic state. He responded:

Throughout my discussions with contemporary Muslim theologians, it is clear an Islamic state can be established in more than just a single form or mold. It can be established through a kingdom or a democracy. The important issue is to establish the general fundamentals of Sharia that are required to govern. It is known that there are sets of standards that are accepted by [Muslim] scholars to organize the relationships between government and the governed. [emphasis added]

When questioned about this, Abdul Rauf continued: “Current governments are unjust and do not follow Islamic laws.” He added:

New laws were permitted after the death of Muhammad, so long of course that these laws do not contradict the Quran or the Deeds of Muhammad … so they create institutions that assure no conflicts with Sharia. [emphasis in translation]

In yet plainer English, forget the separation of church and state. Abdul Rauf’s goal is the imposition of Shariah law — in every country, even democratic ones like the U.S.

But these attitudes are nothing new for the (alas, few) people who have been paying attention. Way back on September 30, 2001, Feisal Abdul Rauf was interviewed on 60 Minutes by host Ed Bradley. Their verbatim dialogue from this CBS News transcript concluded:

BRADLEY: Are — are — are you in any way suggesting that we in the United States deserved what happened?

Imam ABDUL RAUF: I wouldn’t say that the United States deserved what happened, but the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.

BRADLEY: OK. You say that we’re an accessory?

Imam ABDUL RAUF: Yes.

BRADLEY: How?

Imam ABDUL RAUF: Because we have been an accessory to a lot of — of innocent lives dying in the world. In fact, it — in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA.

This is the “anti-terrorist” of the Daily News article?

The Feisal Abdul Rauf who spoke to 60 Minutes in 2001 is the same Abdul Rauf who, in the last couple of months, espoused the spread of Sharia law on Arabic websites and said the opposite in the pages of the Daily News. He is the man New York City authorities are about to allow to build a mosque on Ground Zero.

Caveat emptor. Meanwhile, perhaps some enterprising reporter should ask Abdul Rauf his opinion of that fatwa forbidding Muslims from selling land to Christians who intend to build a church on it.

There's a protest on June 6th. I suggest you make your way there and start waking up your fellow countrymen before Islam creeps so deep into your society that you can't get it out and it starts to take control and power.
