KFC chickens do not fulfil LCM Halal Criteria

Assalamu ‘Alaikum

Dear Respected Brothers & Sisters

We hope this letter finds you all in the best of health and Imaan, Ameen. Further to our letter in February regarding the KFC issue, Lancashire Council of Mosques (LCM) Halal Sub Group met with KFC representatives on Wednesday 14th April.

The Sub Group had a detailed discussion about the source of Halal products, the audit mechanism and the slaughter process adopted by KFC. It was confirmed at the meeting that the KFC chickens are stunned and mechanically slaughtered. The Sub Group presented the LCM Halal criteria to the KFC representatives, which stipulates a condition of Halal to be slaughtered manually by a Muslim invoking the name of God. The Sub Group expressed concerns about mechanical slaughter and informed KFC that the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), the largest umbrella organisation in the UK, supports LCM’s position.

Overall, the meeting was constructive and KFC representatives welcomed some of our feedback. Our recommendation to KFC is to consider the universal criteria of Halal to fulfil the needs of all Muslim consumers in Lancashire and beyond. We remain committed to continue this dialogue and hope we can make progress. We will communicate any update to brothers and sisters should any progress be made.

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the Sub Group is that the KFC Halal Supply Chain does not fulfil the LCM Halal criteria and therefore cannot be termed as Halal.

Let's hope that this really turns nasty to the Islamopandering f**ckers. They lose all the extra business they were greedily looking at, and lose half of their existing customers that they took for granted and treated as fools.

I wonder what "KFC reps welcomed some of our feedback" means. That they're going to go away and consider how to implement the instructions, sorry I mean 'recommendations', given them?

So, a couple of points here. One, jobs for the boys, Muslims only to do the slaughtering. Two, slaughter must be manually done. Oof, the cost. KFC is up shit creek without a canoe here. KFC doesn't do extra cost, it's all about the bottom dollar. You may say that it is the same for all fast food outlets, but it isn't true. The other major ones have gone some way to not using the very cheapest option, this quote is from a couple of years ago, but I've not seen anything that has changed since.

"Unlike other fast food chains like Mc Donalds and Burger King who have implemented basic animal welfare policies within their supplier farms, KFC has no animal welfare policies in place world wide in spite of PETA negotiating with them for three years."

I won't go back there that's for sure. They can stick their chicken up their collective arses!
