i am getting a little confused about the outcry over the halal situation.

i fully oppose kfc and all halal meat as i dont care to eat anything that has been blessed or whatever it is by a verse from the koran the slaughter i would be a hypocrite as i was a keen hunter with dogs when it was legal.

what does confuse me is the complaints against other types of halal food. i'll use haribo as and example they have removed gelatine which makes it halal, but my concern is is this realy any different from removing an ingredient to make food suitable for vegitarians?

maybe i'm missing something i dont know but would like to know others thoughts

There are lots of answers, I'll start the ball rolling with a couple.

If something can be made for vegetarian requirements, this is all well and good, however we have a humane way of treating animals within this country which should be enforced by law. If anything containing animal products is labelled Halal, the animals involved have been subjected to that brutal slaughter system.

There is no need for it, and it is being forced by stealth onto all people with total disregard to anyone elses belief, it is just appeasement to a vocal minority.
