i usally go on coach but the last 2 demos i have come in the car, i was just wandering was i the only one who had real trouble to park at dudley and bolton. the police said the town center was closed and i had to park out of town and walk in to the center, i was in a town i had never been before dint know were everyone was meeting and now walking around dudley center that looked derelict (it was 12 midday) i ended up walking straight up to the uaf before i realised (from the stentch lol) i was not supposed to be there so me and a mate walked round and scouted the place see if there was a pub lol not a chance. the mate of mine was deaf so we asked to leave a few min early cos he gets a little disoriented police said no, so after the demo i tryed to make my way to the car and kept coming up to police walls telling me to follow the crowed i said my car was 2 streets away, we ended up being held for about 2 hours till me and my oppo did a garden hop and walked off. (if i had stayed a police officer said i would have to get on the coach and go to the station which was out of town and get a taxi back) we got to our car to find a few muslims (about 4-500) hanging round it we covered up and walked in, took the car and went lol. all this hassle and there was plenty of space around the demo in dudley and most of the edl would be on there way with out trouble. can we apply for Segregated parking at future demo's.

With all due respect, all travel arrangements were sorted and posted on here prior to the demo. It was common knowledge Dudley town was on `shutdown`. Plenty of cars went to Frankley Services where the police laid on coaches to take us into Dudley and then back out again. This was the easiest and safest way to get members in/out safely. It was all agreed prior.

i see where your coming from mate,
im on me own here no coaches pass thro and so id have to go in the car on me own (jus got quoted £83 for train to aylesbury).
my main worry is gettin car trashed or gettin picked off on me own off muslims or reds on me way back to it.not bothered bout a couple but a pack and your fukd.
thought the dudley services idea was a good one but obv the coppers are goin to get everyones plate (not that it matters but theyll be background checking you).due to gettin traffic jammed in sheffield parkway on way to drop kids off nr buxton i wudv never made the 11.30 as stated so didnt bother.
if its same at dudley next time ill do it tho and leave the kids here.
was pissed the sheffield one was cancelled, was goin to boot mrs and kids at meadowhall and tram in.

i was on leave for 2 weeks so dint have computer access my fault i guess lol. still the police could of told us that it was still early for us, instead of risking walking around on our own and i dint see much about parking when i was on here. it would be a bonus if we could park nearer to the demo. you try finding your way around with a deaf bloke lol.

Parking nearer a demo will obviously cause problems in my opinion. You know what they are like, roaming in packs. Cars would no doubt be damaged while we were on the demo. I think its easier for cars to be away from the demo, and get aa free lift on the coach in and out. As for the police, again, my opinion - they are not going to help you out. The only problem we had parking was that we were told we could park without worry of getting a ticket - if we went over the maximum 2 hour stay. Luckily, a very nice lady from the Services told us we had to pay £8 as it was an outside contractor who sorted the parking. Don`t pay, and you were towed. In fairness, I believe the police were sorting out a few fines that the lads got - but can`t confirm it yet.

Clee: Details are still being looked into as we speak about Dudley. Our Police Liaison sorts the stuff for our benefit, not the polices benefit. He has our best interests at heart. Its too early for details to be posted on here about the demo - they will be put up in good time for a good turnout.

Stevo, we went by car to Bolton, and by coach to Dudley. In both cases the details of where to go were posted in advance. I got multiple copies through different sources, so EDL went out of their way to make sure people heard about the details. Sorry you missed out on that.

As for Bolton, because of a major accident on the motorway, we ended up being delayed for 2 hours, so missed the start of the demo (luckily we had left lots of time, so we didn't miss the whole thing). When we got to Bolton, even though I knew exactly where to go, the car park had closed by the time we got there. So we too had to drive a few streets away and park. I found a copper on static duty and parked the car near him.

When it came to leaving the demo we just smiled at a copper and said we needed to go off in that direction to get our car, and we were waved through. There were hundreds of other EDL people streaming off in that direction, so it doesn't seem like we were getting unusual treatment.

It's quite amazing how different people's views are on what happens at these demos. I've been very lucky and had a brilliant time on each demo. After the great experience I had on the coach, I'd opt for that means of transport in future.

The woman in the services said the services owner (?) had contracted the parking out to an outside company. I assume there are rules for private land etc, they can do what they like? Don`t know how the law stands on this, so hopefully your thread will explain. After a demo, all I want is to get back to my car, for it to be still in one piece, and for it to be exactly where I left it :)

How do you think I feel having to leave a Lamborghini Gallardo on the services for 6 hours unattended? :D

it's worth £8 for peace of mind to know that when you come back your car will still be in one piece
