Saudi clerics define terrorism In secret three-day meeting, top religious figures define terrorism as 'destruction, damage to public recourses, highjacking of airplanes, bombing of buildings.' Clerics also rule that funding terror, on Saudi soil and abroad, is a crime Roee Nahmias Published: 04.14.10, 18:56 / Israel News An unprecedented ruling has been issued by the Saudi Arabian council of religious cler More..ics. After years of deliberations and debates, both in public and behind closed doors, the Saudi supreme council on religious rulings, which in essence applies to the entire Muslim world, has determined a definition for one of the most talked-about words of the past decade – "terrorism". According to the ruling, terrorism is defined as "the destruction of and damage to public resources, the highjacking of airplanes and the bombing of buildings." In a secret and rare meeting convened by the council which began on Saturday and concluded Monday evening, the clerics ruled that funding terror is also a crime, and that this ruling is valid all over the world and not just in Saudi territory. The clerics stressed that terror must not be funded, and that anyone funding it is to be considered a full partner in the offence. According to London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat, which reported of the ruling on Tuesday, this is an "important and unprecedented ruling which attests to the war on terror of any kind, and presents it as a crime." However, the ruling did not determine the penalty of anyone who funds terror, and this issue was left to the consideration of the judge. Link http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=9de_1271351277 |

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. As we are not Muslims, we are not bound by their jihad rules. Their Justification for any calls of terrorism will equally apply to our calls. Maybe they should be very careful about any 'punishment' they deem appropriate, as they will justify any action we will take in response. |

Pffff, a quick look at any dictionary would have saved them three days of meetings. Empty rhetoric, I fear. While wahhabi is being preached and funded by Saudi all over the world muslims will be hearing terrorism is a crime every now and then but will be learning on a daily basis that they have every right to hate and despise the kuffar. |

It's odd that they mention only material things, buildings, public resources, and aircraft. What about he most important thing, people? |

Terrorism is the deliberate targeting of civilians to instil fear into the hearts of the enemy. They left that bit out. 'Damage to buildings' means that they will condemn US or Israeli actions as 'terrorism'. |

They already do, but now they have decided the two towers and pentagon were also acts of terrorism. That would deem the pilots and cohorts terrorists and as such not eligible for being martyred.... but Peter would know better about my assumption iain |
