Okay I'm sure I don't have to explain history to you all, but the main reason the U.S. entered WW2 against the Germans was to stop the nazi's from taking over all of Europe and Russia. However, nowdays it seems like my country has its nose in EVERYTHING across the world. I just can't ignore it...If the U.S. ain't happy nobody is... I don't hate my country I love it to death but I am sick of us mettling in other countries business. What do you Brits think? Be honest, yet civil haha. I just can't help but ignore the similarities between nazi germanies plan to run the world and how we are currently doing it...Idk maybe I'm wrong but it does seem like what the u.s. wants the u.s. gets.. |

![]() I keep telling people.... |
| "Medical research suggests that while British Pakistanis are responsible for 3% of all births, they account for one in three British children born with genetic illnesses. The question to think about is: Could the practice of interbreeding be the key to the success and longevity of Islam? Could it be that the genetic and mental illnesses borne of interbreeding are a factor in the unquestioning nature of the majority of Muslims regarding spirituality? " | |

What your politicians are doing doesn't reflect on the citizens, or the past of the US. The U.S Revolution in my eyes is one of the most influential moments of history, if it wasn't for the founding fathers of the revolution, who can we look up to for hope? The rebels rose against us Brits for freedom, and liberty. The U.S Constitution in my opinion should be guidelines of modern patriots and freedom lovers. Despite the rebels killing my countrymen, it was for the liberation and freedom of your grandchildren. The situation is very much the same now, we're being oppressed, we're being ignored. Our future is uncertain. My country has a mixed history, like all. We've not been exactly angels, but for what we have done to help the world. I'm proud of it, we bought technology to certain parts of the world which undoubtedly helped them for the future. Pastor Yemi, who's on the Revelation TV even said that Zimbabwe has gone downhill since it gained independence from the United Kingdom, our support for the Indians was huge, the Indians showed us respect as we did them. Yes, we fought. They gained independence, but look at them now. They're becoming a better country. Imagine what it would have been like if we didn't fight the French there? This applies to every country who once had an Empire, nowadays it's seen as a wrong thing, but back then. I believe the European empires helped shaped the world that we live in today. I won't apologise for what my ancestors did, what they did is not my responsibility, but I will congratulate what those who have brought to this world. Without the French and British empires, many nations today wouldn't be how they are. the U.S for one, I see as a great nation, full of great patriotic people. The politicians do not reflect the general population. There's been many great American men and women who weren't politicians, there's been many in other countries. But, they do not and should not reflect on how you view your nation. Granted, the U.S's involvement around the world is questionable, but why use the present to justify your patriotism? The U.S's short history is full of stories to tell, from the revolution, to the civil war right up to the world war. When you came to Europe's aid when we really needed it. Your supplies saved millions of British citizens, your involvement in the war shortened it. I disagree you won it, but you most certainly turned the tides for everyone. It was an allied victory, of great nations fighting an evil enemy. The situation is no different now. Great nations are fighting an internal enemy, one who's not going to go away unless we support one another. Every country has dark times, but they also have times where they're admired, and are the heroes. That's us! The western civilisation, full of wrongs, but also righteousness. Don't let a few people who say they represent your country ruin your love for your soil. Fly your nation's flag, and fly it f**king high. And if anyone questions it, sir. Give them the typical, American 'f**k YOU' and ignore them. As the stars and stripes are a glorious image. |

That's my opinion. It's not that what the U.S wants, the U.S gets, it's what the politicians want, is what the politicians get. Why should the politicians change everyone's opinion of the nation's people? I just wanted to point out what's the U.S got to offer, which in some way contradicts what I said, as it was a few politicians/army generals who changed the face of history, but the situation was much different. These days, it's what your politicians want, not the public interest. I look at country's people, not the politicians, and I think that's how every country should be view as. Politicians can be manipulative, that's how they get votes. So to judge a country on its politicians are wrong. What the U.S government, British Government, and any other government is doing should not reflect on the nation as a whole. Every country has its idiots, but ignore them and every country has its great people. Love your country on what it was built on, not what it is currently. To compare U.S to nazi germany is considerably wrong, Nazi Germany didn't really interfere with other's affairs. The U.S is trying to be a top player in the world's political layer. If anything trying to make them more like the U.S, but as I said don't let these people ruin your image. I don't look at politicians to see a nation as a whole. |

Point of order, the War of Independence was about taxation to the British not about freedom.... |

i have to admit it did get me pissed off when hillary clinton started sticking her nose into the falklands dispute earlier this year. The US as our closest ally should have supported us in saying falklands is British, end of! But she started going on about how the US will act as a mediator even though theres nothing to discuss. Thats politicans though and our ones have done some stupid stuff as well like freeing the lockerbie bomber. |

I agree with your statement mike! Hillary is running around without a clue as to the repercussions that might happen with our greatest allies. I also agree with your analysis of letting the lockerbie bomber go was a silly mistake. |

Hilary agrees with Argentina. I say US GIVE BACK HAWAII, ALASKA, VIRGIN ISLANDS and GTFO of Japan. But they won't, so why should we get out of Falklands? Kirchener is only bringing up the islands just like they did in '82. Support for the government was low, so spice up the falklands and everyone supports you. |

Hi TF As far as I am aware the US entered the war when it was attacked by Japan and then Hitler declared war on the US which then drew your nation into the European theatre of war as it were. I think it is fair to say that what happened after WWII is that the US and Russia filled the vacuum left by the spent European superpowers and both sides were ideologically opposed and looked to influence governments to their side. We can all make various arguments about the rights and wrongs of this however if one side had pulled back the other would have stepped in. I think in terms of a current narrative then I would certainly say that Iraq was a massive own goal for both the US and the UK. IMHO a war that was made by the hawks in Washington and followed by Blair because of his own ego. There was no reason to attack Iraq on any of the grounds stated. They certainly did not have any WMD and Saddam was an Arab Nationalist secular leader who was an enemy of Al Qaeda. However to the point is the US hypocritical in its international policy then yes it is as are those that lead us in the UK. It is OK when 'we' invade another nation however if the Russians go into Georgia then they're bang out of order. If there is one good thing that comes out of Iraq is that we the ordinary people of both the UK and the US will no longer take the supposed truths of our respective governments on face value. Hi Dylan Whilst I would agree with much of what you say I would take issue with the American Revolution. The reason this came about was because of the global fight between the European superpowers which changed Britain from having an empire of commerce into one of colonisation and whilst Britain won this war it left the nation bankrupt. This is why the colonists in America were hit for more taxes. It is not accurate to claim this war pitted Americans against British. It is not even accurate to claim that the war pitted British Government forces against colonists as many colonists fought for the Crown. It is however accurate to say that the American Revolution had a large support within England from some of the greatest radicals this nation has ever seen e.g. Thomas Paine and then Mary Wollstonecraft who supported an overhaul within our own nation which is widely accepted would have happened if not for the French Revolution which was reduced to all out barbarity through paranoic state control. However I would certainly agree that if it wasn't for the British Empire then what we now call India would have descended into an all out blood bath and that if it wasn't for the British Empire the nation would be unrecognisable as to what we see today. I recall discussing as much with an Indian Hindu who said that the British influence was a positive one on what India would have faced had the British pulled out when the Moghal Empire collapsed and when India saw invasions from the ME and also from the French. well to be honest, the war in the middle east at the minute neither of us need to be there, and britain is the same, its more interested in helping fund africa and other countries, where theres people in this country just as poor if not poorer in some cases, both countries are useless when it comes to sorting their priorities. |

I felt exactly the same. Why she should stick her oar in who knows, but I think she just one of these 'wannabe' taken seriously statesmen that likes to get her name alongside whatever the latest issue is so she can be seen to be 'mediating' when in fact she's just making a name for herself. |

Totally agreed ..you see what obama and hillary are doing is going around kissing ass to all our fairweather friends in order to improve the image of the U.S even at the cost of our real allies like in this instance the U.K. Its pathetic and embarrasing to watch this happen as an american

Would you rather they didnt poke their noses in then, I mean does anyone actually think that leaving the taliban running Afghanistan would have been a good idea, or leaving saddam in iraq, would that have been better? Should they have left the Vietnamese to be over ran by communism? Personally, someone needs to sort the s**t out in the world, look what happens when something is left to ferment in its own piss ISLAM,. if no one does anything about islam then the whole world will soon be under its power. |

Sheffield is spot on.... About the invasion of iraq some of those opposed to the invasion of iraq should consider this; the british govt ie..tony blair etc. had access to the same exact intelligence as the bush admin. had, which was convincing evidence that saddam had W.M.Ds now of course after the invasion we never found any wmds, but we do have info directly from saddam( after he was captured) that he did indeed want it to appear that his regime possesed wmds MAINLY because he wanted IRAN to believe he had them. However, after 9/11 the U.S and U.K was not going to take any chances wth this info at hand. it is true that saddam was a pan arab socialist (baathist) and not a very religious man, but he was no friend of the U.S ,and at the time decisions had to be made...we couldnt put it past saddam that he might actually give al-Qaeda access to wmds. Where the U.S went wrong was by bush following dumbsfelds advice on how to wage the aftermath of the invasion. this resulted in more casualties not only on american and coalition forces but on the iraqi population as well. the surge should have happened in 2004.
