what are your thoughts on the Digital Economic Bill? I'm disgusted that this bill is being pushed through parliament without proper debate, burying badnews on the day of the announcement of the general election. The bill doesn't protect the public but the lobbists and big media business that peter mandelson has gotten into bed with. If they don't like you going to a site they can block the site, if they think you are downloading content illegally they can cut your connection. A large movement has formed opposed to the bill, who have today advertised in national papers ( interesting their use of the website 38 degrees to coordinate a email/ letter writing campaign to their local mps - perhaps a strategy that the edl can use?) as well as twitter to direct public opinion. Just another nail in the coffin of labour |
