http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2918868/Bid-to-ban-England-tops-in-World-Cup-pubs.html yet you can watch ireland, scotland, wales or anyother shirts in pubs when games are played, for years in birmingham some pubs show racism towards english fans. |

slightly off topic but me and a mate watched rangers and celtic in a dublin pub with rangers shirts on. that was fun esp as rangers won 3-2 (he lives there tho so it wasnt too bad of a pub but was crammed with hoops). strange that in dublin they call the english like fook, but are besotted by the premier league and all support the english teams.dublin teams like bohemians only get 2000 crowds on a good day. me mate lives in dublin and is a linfield fan, when linfield played bohs in some cup there were more coppers than crowd on duty! (for real!) |

You're 100% right. This as been the case in many pubs for a long time: Even on St Georges day. |

The Dublin Football fans are a strange lot. When i was over there i wanted to go and see a Gaelic Football or Hurling game yet all they did was talk about Newcastle Utd,Liverpool etc but with a sort of child like enthusiasm. Biggest teams for crowds in Dublin are The Dubs GAA Football team and Leinster Rugby team. |

Any pub that enforces the ban on England tops is a pub i will never use again as long as live.

He probably only said that to you because you were young, he thought you'd just do what he says. Did you cover your Villa top up? |

a mate of mine was refused entry to a pub just after xmas for wearing the 1974 bocca juniors strip his missus got him as a prezzy. the doormug said 'sorry mate, no football colours' and that was that. i can see the point on match day if two rivals are playing, but the 74 bocca juniors? who's gonna start a fizz coz of that? |

F**K THE COPPERS.what they don't realise is that the police have got no respect for the public.they will get attacked if they bring this ruling in.its the same for st.georges day.the local council tried to ban our march but didn't succeed.the PC brigade need to open their eyes and see all the anger this is causing amongst the patriotic people of this country.if they ban the england shirt then they need to ban the burka. |

Good, I hope it stops the England shirt, three quarter length trousers and Reebok classics brigade from attending. I don't want spotty students and 'can't beat em join em birds' who think their opinion on football is as valid as mine anywhere near where I am watching the World Cup...... Also on the shirts issue I support my country I don't need an outward display of that as I am English and it is not our way, it just turns into a tack-fest.... a flag or two is okay but hung up somewhere not worn like Batman |

We over here in Ireland North and South all support different teams from different leagues for different reasons. Mine- BPL -Liverpool, (was brought up to support them , club with one the greatest history , Fans have alot opf passion for the team, and when i go to see them even if its europe league really good atmosphere) League 2 -Accrington and Stanley ( Mainley because of there stance of being anti Sky and anti Modern Football, really good ultras ,Good atmosphere ) SPL -Rangers FC, ( Everyone where i live either supported Celtic or the Gers and being my religon i was Rangers, good fans, love going to Ibrox deadly atmosphere most games, love the rivalry with celtic, love how everyone of its fans are proud to be British and every game see union jacks being waved) Bundesliga - Hamburg ( really good fans, share a fan pact with Rangers , When they played celtic in Europa one tier held up placards forming a union jack and a banner saying No surrender :D) Carling Premiership - Crusaders ( Probibly on of my nearest teams, thats all you can really say about them lol) Over here we all support different teams from different leagues because the quality of footy is wayy better than ours, i would see 100s of people on a sunny day walking down the street in Man U shirtys before i would see someone in a linfield shirt or glentoran shirt. |

With their faces painted with little England flags on each cheek which is fine for children and I encourage it, but any grown adult who goes down that path needs educating. |

yeah liverpool has loyalist links right back to the world war, rangers and Celtic is the british loyalist against irish republican derby as hopefully it was always be for fans all around the world and hamburg have my respect so much i got a tattoo of that 110ft no surrender/ union jack tivo that i got the scene tattooed! HSV (hamburg) big rivals are st pauli, which through its roman catholic roots have big links with celtic, so their cities split like glasgow! and yeah the ROI are brilliant for ultra mentality, but strange with regards to "normal" teams they support. |
