I just couldn’t understand why the demo was planned to start at Wetherspoons pub. Pure madness. Was that a police or an EDL decision (or both)? It’s almost as if the police decided that if they got loads of EDL supporters drunk, and then they caused a bit of bother, then they could ban future EDL protests. To start a march after hundreds of young and old lads had downed five or more pints, sounds like an UAF idea to me. Anyway. It was a fantastic turnout. Must have been over a thousand. And to remember that there were only about 90 at Birmingham – August 8th! A good mix too. Of course there were more young lad than everyone else. But that’s because there are more young lad in the population generally. Quite a good racial mix too. I saw a few Sikhs and a few blacks. Some black Stoke shoppers even mingled with the demo. I only heard two racist remarks. The harder EDL lads should come down hard on these corbetts. It’s the only way. Some lads like being members of tiny ‘secret organisations’ like Combat 18 or whatever. But that isn’t the EDL. This has to be a movement that appeals to everyone! (One of the racists was the guy who got on top of the police van. I bet he’s really UAF!) I couldn’t really hear any of the speeches. I think the mikes were bought from Del Boy. Still a good idea though. It was nice to hear the black and Sikh lads speak. I’m not sure about prayers and religious stuff though. |

Went to Stoke yesterday, tried to listen to the speeches and was stood 10 feet away and could hardly hear anything. If we are going to get our point across we need a proper pa system so that onlookers etc can hear exactly what is being said. We all want to ban the bhurka but nobody seems to be asking why these hundreds of thousands of women are not being called into the job centre like everybody else to find work and pay tax. |
