Boots alone aren't a problem; just don't wear them with rolled up jeans and don't come dressed looking like a skin if that happens to be your fashion. You'll be the only one out of thousands who appears in the press! |

the idea is to not look like the 1970' - 80's skinhead cos it is automaticly classed as racist by those who no fock-all. so no rolled up levis, red braces (hang down position) fred perries, ben shermans, ox-blood brogue dealer boots (if anyone knows where i can buy a pair from please let me know). you can where either of those items but not altogether lol joking, bowler hat and pin striped suit will do fine. |

Being an ex skinhead, I still have a pair of trusty DM'S and would rather wear them at a demo than my adidas's. The reason being is if things go tits up, then a size 10 boot in the bollocks hurts a lot more than a trainer! LOL That said, if things go REALLY tits up....You can run a lot faster in trainers than a pair of boots! Anyone up for doing a EDL 'fancy dress' march?? Imagine the scene...800 lads dressed as Batman, superman, winnie the pooh etc....Would make hilarious reading in the papers! |

Baldy...with all due respect...what's wrong with skinheads turning up? A dressed down skinhead dosen't look much different to a footy lad these days anyhow. Pretty much most casuals have shaved heads, most wear button shirts and lots wear fred perry. I can see your point with clobber like combats, 14 hole steelies etc but a well dressed skinhead can blend in with the football crowd no problem. |

HUH? The EDL is made up of people from all across the political spectrum. From BNP supporters to UKIP to Labour voters. The same applies to Skinheads.....The same applies to Casuals or bikers or ravers. People seem happy to accept hindus or Jews or gays or even muslims yet won't accept skinheads???? Sounds a bit two faced to me!In fact on one of the UAF posts, there is a picture of a load of the great unwashed and one of them is waving a hammer and sickle flag.....Check out what he's wearing! Boots, braces, fred perry and shaved head. YES A BLOODY COMMIE SKINHEAD!!

Steve, it's just an image thing. We all know that most skins aren't racist, but the general public don't know that. If 10,000 turn up in Stoke and just one person is in full skin regalia, guess which one of the ten thousand is going to appear in the papers the next day as representing the EDL!? Any ordinary non-racist skin is welcome in the EDL, but we have to ask them to dress down for demos. We know the UAF look worse than the EDL, but the media aren't interested in pictures of the UAF, only of the EDL. It's just PR mate, nothing else. Please don't take it the wrong way!

i dont think there is a problem with what people wear to demos as long as there is no nazi saluting going on. you cant really say people shouldnt wear certain things. next fred perrys, ben sherman shirts and harringtons will be looked down on. i agree the public will see skins as racist, but the public see the edl as racist as it is, from what ive seen, maybe we can change opinions on skinheads as well |

Like I say chubzuk, it's just PR mate. The public perceive all skins as racist because they don't know any better, so we ask people to dress down slightly for the day. Country comes before fashion! It's nothing personal.

worn dm's all my life best value for money shoes/boots money can buy ! But i agree .... the image of the boots/bomber, rollled up jeans ... just isnt the right one for the EDL. Not that i have anything against skins, I used to be one ... well into ska .... and tbh true skins were never racist far from it ! Just its unfortunate that the skin image has always been 'associated' with the style of white power/ racism/ facism ... bit of a joke if you ask me ... because if you look at true skins and the relationship with ska ..... crazy leftie twats just dont have a clue, the same goes for the media as well... I dont think this is about being all PC and that s**te more a case of common sense ..... just grabbed the specials best hits .... damn ... i am getting old ! |
