Another good one is Replay Media Catcher, it will grab and save FLV videos from most sites including news and movie sites and convert them to whatever you want. Here is a list of tested sites: Basically hundreds of them but wouldn't allow me to post them! However this has a price tag of £25.00 but I have heard of some naughty people getting it from the likes of rapidshare, uploading, filefactory and torrent downloads. Tut Tut

I brows with firefox and use software called downloadhelper. It adds an extra icon next to the homepage icon. Which allows a user to just click on it and select the video and download it. In either FLV or Mp4 from youtube. It's easy and great. |

You don't need software!! The simplest and most effective way to download youtube vids is to change the URL to "easyyoutube". So, if the url is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h33y80u_Bh8 Just change it to: http://www.easyyoutube.com/watch?v=h33y80u_Bh8 Voila.... it'll download as FLV, MP4, or whatever you choose. SIMPLE! Plus it even works on videos with embedding disabled. Trust me, easyyoutube is the way. VDownload and getVid are all things of the past

Check this one out too: Orbit downloader: http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ You install it and it runs in the background when you are surfing the net. When you want to download a vid on YouTube or similar you just move your mouse pointer over the vid and a little box will pop up saying 'Get It' you click on that and voila your download starts. Pluses: It isn't restricted to just YouTube and will work on most sites including all the sites at World TV PC. No cutting and pasting URL's. Oh and its FREE Negatives: Sometimes you have to move your mouse a few times over the vid until you get the 'Get It' box! Won't download from the BBC or ITV! |

I've always used 'Media Converter' but you only get 5 downloads a day, will try some of yours, great topic. |

Got to admit I am sticking with Orbit after trying it out for a few days. Only downside is you have to wiggle your mouse a few times sometimes to get the 'Get It' box to pop up! But still quicker than copying and pasting URL's!

Nothing's quicker than just typing "easy" into the URL though. Also, easyyoutube is the most reliable. Everyone uses it now. It's like the Google of YouTube download options. |
