You remember the video I have shown you few days ago, where we can see an islamist police in the center of Paris? ( here, if you missed it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZU6KYgz-14 ) Our president Sarkozy made a speech about burqa and national identity today - there's a whole debate about it, he's deep low in the polls, so... Here we go : (i translate) " Sarkozy has said this thursday France was a country "where burqa is not welcome neither is women's oppression" on a speech about national identity. "France is a country where there can't be any confusion between spirituality and the state,[he pays with our taxes a free journey to Mecca to Muslim's soldiers... He doesn't respect our laicity laws and he dares saying it!] France is a country of tolerance and respect but it also must be respected." added the president. (...) " France is a country where we don't ask anybody to forget his history and culture but it asks to those who want to get involved in its future to also not forget its history and culture. " France doesn't believe in communautarism. (...) [ he wants to introduce islamic finance, which encourages communautarism... ] Becoming French is also being part of a civilisation, values and way of life. " France is a country of tolerance and respect but it also must be respected. We can't get rights if we refuse duties. " Taking some examples, he suggested no one can "benefit of NHS without asking himself what he can do for its country" or "getting social helps without feeling morally compelled to do everything possible to find a new job". " No one can benefit of free studies - which is one of the biggest Republic's success - if no one don't go to class, don't respect teachers, don't respect school buildings http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hAKhwGNcYKBwhr7cjkD2XM_1h1LA * * * * * * in another article, more quotes : http://www.romandie.com/ats/news/091112175942.hjkr5fjh.asp (...) " No one should take advantage on the Republic and not respecting its law, none of its values or principals. But to share a common ideal, my dear fellows, we have to believe in it ourselves..." In this speech where Mr. Sarkosy has congratulated France for its diversity, "Christian" and "Enlightment"'s heritage and what north-african and subsaharian african culture have brought, he insisted on : "all those who will come in France to call for hate and violence will be deported". I prefer to wait before getting too excited about this... Words are said and that'ss fine. But we'll see if any actions will truely follow... I don't think he'll hold his promises. |
