“My my, you’ve come a long way, huh Aiden? It looks like you’ve finally harnessed and grasped the full idea behind gathering ki from your surroundings. Now you’re ready to learn my famous Spirit Bomb technique. Aren’t you excited?” the blue skinned King Kai of the Northern Quadrant remarked with a bit of a snirk before slipping both hands behind his back. His accent was as thick as always and made him sound older than he appeared though not than what he actually was.

Aiden at the moment was laying with his back against the ground, the feeling of that increased gravity doing its toll on the human’s body. Both hands were placed behind his head and he was meticulously perform sit ups over and over again. He did not keep count or even have any plans of stopping. Once he felt he had a decent burn going he would put a rest to his actions and probably change to a different set of exercises.

“Spirit Bomb, huh?” Aiden asked. Since his training with King Kai first began he found some useful techniques from him. Gathering energy from sources other than his own, for example, would prove useful in the future. The temporary power increase granted to him from the Kaio Ken body amplification technique might also serve some purpose. What purpose that would be remains to be seen. For the moment he was content with just gathering as much information as possible from the elder King Kai.

“Yes, yes. It’s the most powerful technique there is. It’s potential is unmatched by any other power in the entire universe. I’m rather proud of it myself,” the Kai added. He seemed to be beaming with pride at the idea of it. Bubbles in the background added his own support with a couple of oohs and agahs. Stopping upon coming down after another sit up, Aiden turned his head to face King Kai.

“Really, it’s that strong? Well, what’s the catch?” the human said. Clearly something so strong would be used by just about anyone if it was as powerful as King Kai had claimed. So why hadn’t he heard it used before outside of the old stories if King Kai was willing to teach it to anyone who wanted?

“Well, it’s a very unique technique. It requires a great deal of concentration and preparation time. Without it, the attack won’t be strong enough to defeat your opponent. You need a distraction of some sort to be sure you can gather enough energy to make it worth while.” King Kai nodded at this news and then peered off before him.

“So there’s a time restriction on it, huh? No thanks. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the time required to build it. It doesn’t fit my style.” Now a Midorikatai user with Big Bopper on the other hand? That’s a nice idea. Aiden wasn’t much the type to bank everything on a single attack unless it was truly worth the effort. The Spirit Bomb was nice in theory but without a method of gathering ki energy with ease he wouldn’t be able to put it to much use outside of a fancy parlor trick at parties.

“I have my sites set on something else. There’s another technique that may not be as powerful but it definitely packs a punch. And it’s execution is a little easier as well. I’ll just have to go see Trunks once I’m done here and maybe pick up where we left off in our training.” Aiden remarked before falling back to the earth with another up and down motion of his sit ups.

King Kai looked at Aiden with an incredulous look. He was surprised that anyone would come before him and not want to learn something as great as the Spirit Bomb. It was the technique that took down the monstrous Buu after all. Of course, if Aiden could get the entire populace of Earth to grant him energy for an attack he could think of a lot better ways to use it than to put it into a single sphere and hope to hell that it doesn’t miss.

“Speaking of, I’ll have to be leaving you soon King Kai. Your training was greatly appreciated but I don’t think I’ll be sticking around in the after life for much longer. Once I get what I need to get I’ll be on my way. There are people counting on someone to do something back in the land of the living. No one else has stepped forward yet so I’m going to volunteer my services. Besides, I’ve got a score to settle with a certain someone.”

King Kai nodded his head at this news and dropped his eyes as if his thoughts were suddenly grim. “Yes, a lot has happened since your absence. I take it you’re taking Reina with you, yes? I’ve trained her too so the two of you should be able to do a lot on your return.” Aiden finally pushed himself up to a sitting position before rising to his feet. Reaching for his coat he slipped it over his bare shoulders and nodded with a smile.

“Yeah, we’ll be heading back together. With any luck we can find out a way to put a stop to the war going on. And if my hunch is right…” He looked up toward the sky for a moment while his thoughts wandered. “We’ll be able to bring back Planet Vegeta while we’re at it.”

King Kai looked proud of Aiden. He smiled and nodded his head to the man. “Well, good luck. And don’t be a stranger! You know I can communicate with people in the living world, right? Send me a mental call once in a while. I’ve got plenty more jokes I’ve been cooking up I’ll have to share with you.”

Aiden chuckled and nodded his head. “Alright, well I’m off. Have to track down Trunks and see if he’ll be able to train me a bit more.” Tossing a wave to King Kai the haokiru student let his bukujutsu carry him into the sky until he broke the pull of that gravity on him and started back toward Snake Way.

Hovering over to Snake Way Aiden would touch down upon it with a soft thud. Turning to look back toward King Kai’s planet he afforded one more wave before turning his back on the elder trainer and being on his way. The trek back to heaven was not all that far but he decided waiting around was not in his best interest. He wanted to get to work with his mind set and his body fresh and ready for action. Placing his fingers to his forehead, Aiden closed his eyes and concentrated before vanishing.

When he reappeared he was standing in the same place that him and Reina had shared since their arrival in Heaven. Setting down a few of his things he moved outside and looked around. Spotting Gohan in the distance, Aiden waved before running over to catch up to him.

“Heya, Gohan. I was hoping you could tell me where Trunks is at. Any ideas?” Hee said as he approached. Falling into step beside him he looked eagerly at the half saiyan in hopes of tracking down the person he had in question. With any luck Gohan would point him in the right direction.

“Trunks, huh? Let me see… if I remember right he was with Goten at the moment. The two of them were plotting something. I’m not too sure what, though,” he added with a hand coming to rest at his chin. Looking squarely at Aiden he chuckled softly before letting his hands fall to his sides and his shoulders rising in a shrug. “Your guess is as good as mine. But I’d check Goten’s house if he’s not at his own. That’s the most likely place he’d be at the moment.”

“Thanks Gohan,” Aiden said. Waving again he took off in a bit of a sprint before leaping into the air. Feeling the wind rush across his face from the action was lifting. That bukujutsu held him steady and pushed him higher into the air while he soared forward and toward Goten’s homely abode.

Thanks to his flight ability Aiden would arrive in no time at all. Slowing his forward velocity to a lesser speed he came down with a soft thud upon the grass outside of his house. Aiden wasted no time in walking to the front door and wrapping his knuckle upon it. It took a few moments for a response to occur. Finally the front door opened and he was greeted by a very attractive woman - probably a model in her living life - with a beautiful, young girl face and a bright smile. Goten’s wife he assumed. The guy was quite the playboy when he was alive.

“Uh, hi. I’m looking for Goten? Is he around?” Aiden asked.

The woman responded in kind. “Goten? Yeah, he’s upstairs. Him and Trunks are working on something. You can come in if you’d like.” Aiden smiled and took the invitation in kind. He was glad to have tracked down Trunks already. He was worried he would have to scour all of Heaven again just to track the lavender haired half saiyan down.

Heading up the stairs after getting directions from Goten’s wife he came to the room where the two of them were supposedly at. Aiden cocked a brow and placed his head to the door where he heard music playing from the other side along with a few voices he was unable to make out above the noise. Knocking on it he found no response. Clearly whoever was within could not hear him. Reaching for the knob he twisted it and opened the door to be greeted by a rather surprising sight.

“Alright, work it, work it!” Goten shouted while pumping his hips back and forth in a matter that Aiden could only describe as homo erotic. The son of Goku was dressed in a pair of bright yellow flash pants and matching yellow fishnet shirt. His hair was done up in a ridiculous manner (Or was that normal? Hard to tell with Goku’s family.) and he had on a thick pair of green shades. Quite simply he looked like a regular misfit.

Trunks was next time him working on his own dance moves. They weren’t nearly as bad as Goten - Trunks had some style at least - but he wasn’t entirely good at it either. His attire was far different. Purple jacket with an open chest flickered with what appeared to be glitter. The initials T.B. ere studded into the back of the jacket as Trunks spun around. His pants looked like something M.C. Hammer would wear and matched the same color as the jacket. His hair was done up in a Mohawk and his neck shimmered with the proverbial ‘bling bling’. If only Vegeta could see his son now…

“Big finish!” Goten shouted. The two of them stood side by side now and suddenly went through a series of even stranger moves. Shifting back and forth they quirked their arms and rose a knee before suddenly leaning in toward one another and touching their fingers together. In a flash, they suddenly crashed together in a brilliant display of light that Aiden had to shield his eyes against.

When he opened them again he saw the figures of Goten and Trunks completely gone and in their place the fused warrior of legend, Gotenks. The purple hair coated the sides of his black streak and his outfit changed completely - thankfully - to a more stylish and unique attire. The vest seemed to match nicely with the white pants he now wore. The only problem with it all?

He no longer had a chin. His stomach was huge and he looked like he had put on about two hundred pounds. Aiden rose a hand to his eyes to shield against the ridiculous sight. “Oh no! We messed up again!” he heard the voice of both in tandem. Aiden wasn’t sure what to make of the entire scenario but he had a feeling this was going to hamper his training process…

“What in the hell is going on here?!” Aiden shouted before walking over and hitting the switch on that radio. The power was cut and the music died leaving both Gotenks and Aiden standing in silence within that room. An awkward glance was given by Gotenks before he looked away and tried to avoid Aiden’s eyes. The human was completely baffled by the entire event he had witnessed unfold.

“Please, god, please tell me I didn’t just walk in on some freaky training ritual. Because if this is it, count me out!” he added before turning his back to the fused duo and started toward that door once more. A hand caught his shoulder, however, before he could leave.

“W-Wait,” Gotenks said in that dual voice of both his previous counter parts. “It’s not what it looks like.” And what exactly did it look like? Aiden didn’t even know to be honest. He only knew he wanted nothing to do with it. No thank you, kind sir. Not one bit.

“Look, we were rehearsing. Look, look!” Gotenks retrieved a flyer from the table stand near the door and shoved it into Aiden’s face. The human took it in his grasp and looked it over. The flyer seemed to explain all of what Aiden’s confusion was asking.

“Dancing with the Stars competition? You’re entering a… dance competition? Seriously?” And then the strange movements and outfits suddenly made sense. On top of that, the fusion dance also clicked. Aiden felt it was a bit of a cheat to do something like that in all honesty but he wouldn’t question it. They were allowed to do whatever they pleased. After all - paradise in heaven is a matter of perspective.

“Okay, whatever. I really don’t think you’re going to win like that but that’s just my opinion.” Aiden handed the flyer back to Gotenks and started from the room. Gotenks looked at the flyer and then back to Aiden before quickly racing after him. Catching him at the top of the stairs he placed a hand on his shoulder and halted him again.

“Wait, wait. What do you mean?” Gotenks asked.

“Well, I’m not here to dance and I don’t know much about it. But you looked ridiculous. Just… let me know when you’re done rehearsing and send Trunks my way. I want to continue our earlier training.” Aiden said.

“You… you really don’t think we can do it? You haven’t even seen the best we could do just yet!” Aiden crossed both arms over his chest and looked at Gotenks with an unimpressed look. Clearly it was going to take more than that to impress the human. “Alright, fine. Look… why don’t you coach us then? Tell us what looks good and what doesn’t. In exchange, Trunks will show you all you want to know about whatever it is you want to learn. How’s that sound?”

Aiden pondered this for a moment. With that in mind he could get a great deal out of the half saiyan fighter. But what did he know about dancing? Well, he ought to be able to do more than what Trunks and Goten had been attempting. The outfits, for one, had to go. And they were going to have to try to be synchronized at the very least. A hand was placed to the brim of Aiden’s nose where he fought back the headache he knew was going to come. “Alright, alright. Fine. I help you two out and you teach me more without any delays. Sound good?”

Gotenks was overjoyed. He leapt at Aiden then and collapsed both arms around him in a giant hug. The process knocked the wind from the human as he was crushed up against that massive stomach. Aiden fought to break free, however, and finally got loose with a gasp for breath. “Easy, easy. Damn..”

Coughing a bit he motioned back toward the room the duo had originally come from. Nodding his head he allowed Gotenks to follow behind. Once inside he went over to check their selection of music. Tossing out a bunch of things in the way he picked one that had a decent beat to it and didn’t sound utterly ridiculous. “Alright, try this one out. And you may want to work on that dance of yours. If you screw it up in front of the judges you’ll never win. It could just be your ace in the hole otherwise.”

What would follow for several hours after this was Aiden and Goten and Trunks in a routine of continuous drilling. He made sure the two of them were not dressed in such a ridiculous fashion and even had them with matching outfits. Their moves were more controlled and made more unique and swift, slick so to speak. The two half saiyan fighters continued to practice while Aiden drilled and watched giving whatever opinions he could. He was not a dance instructor but he knew what looked good and what looked stupid. That was what he brought to the table in their aid. All the while he kept focusing on just what he was doing it for and hoped the sooner it was over the better.

On the night of the competition Aiden watched and saw that the two of them had quite a stiff competition. Once their turn was up they had the music blare and their moves unleashed. He noted they were hitting every mark straight on and Aiden was glad to see their performance really going well for them. At the very end, they performed that signature technique of theirs to really woo the judges.

“Fuuuusion… Hah!”

The crowd erupted into cheers at the performance and Aiden was sure they would win it. He smiled to himself and awaited for the final judges call. Sitting in the audience he heard the announcement made.

“And the winners… Marron, Bra, and Pan with their Spice Girls performance!” Aiden faulted. There was no judge for talent these days. Going home with second place wasn’t so terrible, though. At least now they still had to live up to their end of the bargain. With any luck he’d have Trunks’ techniques mastered by the end of the week.
