Emperor Foon has landed and two of his goons have been taken out already. Thoughts and comments on the Saga? Keep in mind this is our first time using the ladder system so thoughts on that also appreciated. Were the lower guys too weak? Just right? Would you like some porridge? |

Earth's New Champion

Things are moving along rather nicely though I might have a suggestion or two for the next batch of Saga Bosses we get. For example, having Requirements to face them such as < X PL. Gives some of the lower people in the SL a chance to have a whack at 'em. To prevent nobody from taking them out with such a Requirement system you could have the requirements lifted as weeks pass (IE: Week 2, Requirement on the first character is lifted - he's free game). Just an idea. Also, how about certain villains that have to be taken by more than one person at a time? Whereas their combined PL cannot exceed 1.25 his or something like that. Would be a lot of fun to roll in on Villain-Of-The-Month with a friend in tow. Gives more reason to some of those Ally-based abilities floating around. Another idea I think would be fun is having both Saga Villains and Saga Heroes active at the same time and the first to topple the opposing side determines the outcome of a Saga. Like a race to defeat the opposition. Thus far I think it's been pretty fun. The PLs aren't so bad. The first two were obviously meant to go quicker than the later just given their story as is. Konatian and Foon look to be tougher to topple (Custom AAs, Custom Mastery) and definitely require some build up to get at 'em. Are we going to see any more posts on their actions going on before they're defeated/the weeks are up? I also wouldn't mind seeing them NPCed in other roleplay threads. They're around. They're a threat. Would be neat to suddenly see the Konatian pop up in Bob's role-play thread causing some trouble, ya know? Anyway, in short. I'm liking it. |

The lower guys were definitely too weak from what I saw. Then again, I did wind up fighting their Raditz of their group >_>. My only problem with the Villains is the drastic jump between the two pairs. I know that they were supposed to be much weaker, but Chow Mei was twice as strong as Pow, and Foon was just about twice as strong as Chow. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem in the Dragonball Universe (Guldo ----> Frieza), but the short period of time in which for players to get from 5-10k power levels to 35-40k power levels seems a bit short. Though, I am just going on the Power Level changes from Mythos, and there was drastically less EXP boosting quests in Mythos. Take for example, Keiji of Mythos (Sorry to single you out, mate). From 3/30/08 to 5/3/08, which is four weeks exactly, his power level rose approximately 20,000 points. At this time, Keiji's power level was around average, as he learned enough moves to not be completely useless, but RP'd enough to be potent enough to be useful in Saga Battles. Now, in the four weeks we are given in order to fight Foon, we have to bring our Power Levels to the High 30,000's, and learn enough moves to compete with Foon's own plethora of Haokiru techniques. I'd say we should bear Earth it's final farewells. And yes, I'd love some porridge. |

The Ladder system will shake up throughout the Sagas, with things such as that very possible. I do agree that I would like more people to be potentially involved in the Saga. We'll see what can be done about that for next Saga. We are going to do at least one RP a week, much like The Meeting RP, to progress the Saga.
The PLs were actually determined by figuring out the math and where people could expect to be around that week (on the higher end). We didn't take into account EXP boosting quests or transformations either to try and keep the final boss both tough and fair. That . . . I'm curious to see how it goes. If Earth goes, then hell, we'll be in for a shake-up. |

Don't know if you'll be able to disclose this information, but what if Earth DOES get blown up? Does Foon just ride off into the sunset, laughing like a madman as he clutches his 4 star Dragon Ball? Or do we have to follow him to, say, Namek? Or would we get a new baddie all together? |

It'd be nice for some multiple-boss challenges. When is there ever going to be good joint activities where you're not beating the snot out of each other? Edited by Buddy, Apr 29 2009, 08:29 PM.

I always counted RPing together as good joint activities . . . but that depends on who you're writing with. We hear you. Foon Saga's our first real outing. We'll see what happens in future Sagas. . . . But, how's this Saga going? |

I was going to say the OOC boards, but I'd be lying if I said we weren't trying to beat the snot out of each other. |

I think it's going fairly well. My only problem is the inability to catch up with others who have gotten much stronger. Those who have fallen behind, are typically hard pressed to catch up with the others on the higher end of the pl skill. Having some quests that give 2 or 3 times base xp gain are nice, but [not including utter failures like me, who can't win a stupid quest battle] even with these, it's nearly impossible to catch up. I think those of us who are on the higher end of the pl spectrum are more capable of being involved with the storyline, than those of us who aren't. Just something to consider for the next saga. |
