Korin Tower III

On the road to power once again, Biito was flying across the ocean towards the direction of the infamous island of Japan. He was told by one of the tournament fighters that there was a source of power there that could effectively double a fighter’s battle power. The use of Instant Transmission would have gotten him through much faster but Biito was in the mood for doing things the old fashioned way. A white aura flared over his body as he streaked across the morning sky. His position was high enough that it would not interfere with any plane traffic that might be going to and fro Japan. With most of the attention around the world focused on the Galactic Invitational, Biito noticed that it was much easier to move around without attention.

The segmented island country known as Japan was just in Biito’s sights when he came down from the puffy white clouds in the skies. Several boats were littered off of the coast of the smaller islands, most likely there for fishing or other kinds of mercantile exchange. The Saiyan breezed past the boats without disturbing their causal morning. Up ahead, Biito saw the farmland of the southern islands and the first major city moving from the south parts of Japan towards the north. His eyes were searching for the famous Mount Fuji. Within its depths were said to be the scroll that Biito was supposed to hunt down and read to grow much stronger.

Everything seemed to be going about in the typical fashion for the country of Japan and Biito had to note that it was one of the calmer countries he had seen. No raving lunatics or power-crazed fighters trying to seek out people just for laughs. Nice and peaceful. The mountain that he had been searching for was in plain sight from so high up but before he began his decent, a loud roar echoed out into the air and snapped Biito’s attention to the eastern side of the country. Clouds of smoke began to form around the largest city in Japan.

Biito’s keen eyes made out a large mass of green that looked like what the humans called a dinosaur. The course of Biito’s flight was altered when the dinosaur looked like it was much stronger than what could be handled. A light chuckle came from Biito as he headed for the green monster that was terrorizing Japan. Sirens were going off all over Tokyo Bay by the time that Biito had arrived and he noticed that this dinosaur was much bigger than anything he had seen on Earth so far.

“Definitely not into the super hero business but…”

A white sphere was launched into the morning sky upon Biito’s landing in front of the beast being called ‘Gojira’ by the Japanese people. A roar could be heard across the bay and even the rampaging beast from the sea had to pause and see what had caused such a noise. Transforming from his normal five foot ten size, to a massive ape with crimson eyes would shock just about anyone who was not used to the realm of high-level combat that Biito had pretty much been born in to.

The silence that followed Biito’s transformation was broken by an energy beam that slammed into the chest of Gojira and made the beast stumble backwards, further away from the bay that he had been terrorizing. A battle between a giant monkey and a giant lizard? Now that was a show to see for sure! Biito rushed for Gojira and shoulder tackled the lizard further into the sea. Now that they were away from everyone else, they could throw down like they wanted. Biito sent a strong uppercut into Gojira’s mouth and followed with a slap to the face. A blue sphere of energy had been in Biito’s open hand when he laid the slap onto Gojira. The explosion rocked the lizard once more and Biito was quickly gaining the advantage.

Gojira tried to recover and shoot off several blasts of ki from its mouth when Biito was charging forward. All of the blasts were deflected with a few backhands from Biito and he closed the distance once again. An energy charged punch was sent into the gut of Gojira and it visibly stunned the giant lizard. Biito gathered both of his hands above his head and slammed down both fists into the bent over head of Gojira.

The decisive blow of the ocean battle had been delivered and a large column of water erupted from Gojira’s downfall. Biito glanced around and noticed the people back on the harbor cheering the victory of the transformed Saiyan. It caused Biito to laugh a little and he gave a nod to the Japanese people who were cheering him on. Why he had come in and knocked out the beast who was assaulting Tokyo Bay? Biito could not answer fully, but he knew that it was what needed to be done. After transforming back to his normal state, Biito took off and headed back for Mount Fuji. He had a mystical scroll to find and read before he could get back to business with the tournament.

Hours had passed while Biito searched all around the large mountain before he realized that there might not be a mystical scroll. His mind thought back to when he talked to the Japanese fighter and remembered it had been after downing a few drinks. A slow exhale came from Biito and he raised his fist up into the air.

“DAAAAAAAAAAAAMMNN!!!”

A rumble came from the top of the mountain and Biito turned around to look at the start of an avalanche. Two index fingers were placed to his forehead and his body disappeared instantly. Korin the trainer would find his night time sleep interrupted by Biito. It would be the second time that Biito had disturbed the cat’s rest and the second time he was looking for power.

“Korin. The Elixir. No time to waste.”

“Mrrr. Elixir… I don’t know what you’re talking ab- Alright, alright! I can see you are serious about this.”

Korin mumbled something about Biito being uncomfortable with the other Saiyan being way stronger than him. A low volume kept the words from reaching Biito’s ears and that was probably the best thing possible for the cat to do. Not that Korin could not defend himself nor had hordes of senzu beans to keep himself going, but things were just much more complicated when Saiyans got angry. The fluffy cat walked back and forth while rubbing his chin to consider whether or not he was going to send Biito to the cavern of ice. His mate, it was not hard to tell the two were very much into each other, had done exceptionally well in the ice cavern so it was conceivable that Biito could return with the same results.

“Mrrow. Fine! I’ll send you there but it’s much more dangerous than running around this place try to catch me.”

“That’s fine! I don’t have time to wa-“

Without being able to get another syllable in, Biito was teleported far from Korin’s Tower and into a cave of frigid temperature and it was quite dim. A simple flare of his ki would provide him with enough illumination to walk around and see what he where he was going. So there was supposed to be some sort of elixir of strength at the end of the puzzle. Biito hoped that Korin was not putting him on a wild goose chase like the Japanese fighter he had met at the tournament. Of course, Reina had come back from the ice cavern much stronger than when she had left, so maybe there was more to this than myth.

Taking a few turns around in the icy corners, Biito began to realize that he might be going in circles. The unused torch that was on the wall when he got there it had been spotted twice already. That seemed incredibly strange to him. Puzzles and the like were not his forte so he needed to pause for a moment to think this through. He tried to picture how many times he turned a corner and if it was in the same direction each time. With an annoying click of his tongue, Biito just grabbed the torch from the wall and started in the opposite direction that he went last time. Maybe in this direction he would actually get somewhere instead of what seemed to be going in circles.

Hours had passed by and Biito still found himself moving around the large walls of if with only his reflection to see. He thought he was going to just jog through the maze and get to the elixir then call it a day. Much to Biito’s dismay, he was starting to realize that this maze was more than just a day at a fun house. Biito took a moment to pause once more and lean on the frigid wall that was closest to him.

“This doesn’t make any DAMN sense. Who would build something like this? Who was THIS bored and just NEEDED to make a fucked up maze!?”

His angry outcry was only answered with the echoes that it created in the icy cavern. Biito exhale very slowly, trying to remember his Aoyusumu training and had to calm himself down. It was incredibly ridiculous that someone would make a maze of ice then put an elixir of strength in it, but Biito could not let that get to him now. He folded his arms in front of his chest and closed his eyes, taking a moment to let his emotion run through him then move into a state of calmness and awareness. Once he was back to a more collected state of mind, Biito moved off of the wall he was leaning on and noticed his reflection seemed to lag for a moment before it reacted. The oddity was noted in Biito’s mind before he started back on his path trying to find a way out of the maze.

A ray of hope presented itself when Biito saw that he was not too far from what seemed to be a brighter part of the dark cave. It was not bright enough to be considered daylight but anything was better than the dark parts of the maze that he was in now. Upon moving into the lighter areas, Biito saw that there were three paths in front of him but only one did not have a reflection of himself at the other end. Clearly, the two with the reflections of him were dead ends; otherwise there would not be an image of him at the end of the hall.

“Heh. Well this is easy enough. Maybe once you get to this part of the maze then things get easier?

Once more the only response that Biito would get would be an echo of his own voice. The male Saiyan headed for the center path, which was the only one without a reflection, and kept his eyes open for anything that looked like a trap. The walk down the icy hallway was very long and it did not seem to end any time soon. Biito looked over to his left and right and noticed that there were images of him walking along with him. They were reflections from the sheets of ice that the cavern was made out of. He chuckled for a moment, wondering if he had ever seen himself so many times. From walking so much, Biito had not even thought about where he was going after more than twenty minutes of strolling. His mind began to wander and think of what he would do when he got out of the cavern of wonders. His attention was not snapped back to reality until he noticed one of his reflections was no longer walking with him. An eyebrow raised and he turned to the other one, who was smiling right at him and pointed down.

Biito looked confused for a split-second before the ground gave way and he descended into darkness to face another Biito.
