Masika remained silent during the better part of the exchange between the two, too silent really as those green eyes narrowed dangerously upon the stretch of sterile, tiled floor separating her from the second of the two intruders. She'd been prepared to scold the first but it was this one, this Kai fellow, that seemed the more urgent matter.

She caught sight of Buddy's shifting from the corner of her eye and quickly turned her gaze to the male before shaking her head firmly. "Buddy, lay back down before I break your legs so that you have no other choice." She said, not bothering to raise her voice.

"I truly didn't think it possible but you have an even bigger mouth than Buddy." Masika gripped the seat of her chair as she lifted one leg from atop the other so that the soles of both booted feet were pressed to the floor before she brought herself to a stand and turned to place those harsh eyes upon the stranger.

"Hero? I've never even heard of you." Of course, that didn't count for much as Masika tended not to pay much attention to human affairs. At 5'9", she stood a full two inches taller than the raven-haired male and she used that height to loom over him as much as was possible as she positioned herself merely a few inches infront of him. There was an eerie glint in those eyes, an unspoken hatred that she tried desperately to suppress for Buddy's sake. Other than the threatening edge in her voice, she seemed otherwise void of any emotion at all.

"Buddy beat you in the tournament, did he not? But Rosencrantz beat Buddy and yet, you still seem to think that you could do any better. I suppose no one has ever accused you of being intelligent. I want you to fight Rosencrantz. Oh, I really do. And I want to watch him crush you, I want to watch you bleed at his hands and eat every single word you said here today. You are nothing more than a festering pustule on the face of humanity and before you dare call yourself a hero again, I'd suggest you do something heroic. But first, I'd suggest you leave before you never get the chance."

Kai: You know so little about human kind, yet you can assume that by one fight that Buddy is the better fighter. It almost makes me laugh. I will let it slide once, because I do not know you and likewise you do not know me. Let me tell you who I am, since you have been thrown in the middle, but before I do that. Buddy, if you believe that you can take me right now, you are dead wrong. It would take you several minutes to even pose yourself for a fight and then in the condition you are in, I would assume the fight would not last long. For your sake please do not fight me, not now, not ever. As for who I am changeling. I am Kai Yamito, I'm a Blood Raven, and what that means in laymen terms is that I could kill you, not just kill you, but whipe your name off any record in the galaxy, make it look like you never existed, and then make it all disappear. It has happened before and I dare say it will happen again, but not by my hands. I do not wish to harm any one except for Rosencrantz and any one else of evil intent. You and Buddy's hostilities are misplaced beyond a common realm of understanding. You assume that I have come here to cause a problem or whats worse make Buddy miserable, but I am here for neither. I came here to tell you that I intend to get Buddy's dragon balls back for him and whats more remove Rosencrantz from the picture. Do you not understand yet? I am offering my help to Buddy. Now if you spat in my face and shunned me, I would kill Rosencrantz still...he killed me before.....but I am sure that I can kill him now.

Kai looks over at Buddy pleadingly, Kai did not want to fight, rather coming here to tell them that he is going to correct a mistake and right a wrong. Buddy deserved to win.

Kai: Truth be told, I couldn't beat Buddy because I got to know him before our fight. I couldn't harm him and when I finally decided to attack it was too late, but he won fair and square I can accept that. But if you two are going to say that I am not 'qualified' to beat Rosencrantz then find somebody else. It sure as hell won't be Buddy, at least for a while anyway. If I don't do something, people will die and I can't let that happen. I just can't. I will die for Buddy's honor, for every human's honor on this planet, but I will not be ridiculed by someone who does not even understand the basics of humanity. As for you not knowing me is because of the nature of the things that I have done. Look up mysterious disappearances across the galaxy or entire villages disappearing off the face of the earth, there is where my work is, there is where my heroics are. Now before I leave, I will reiterate the use of the medical serum I have put on Buddy's bed, it will heal him, and mighty fast at that. If you do not believe me, it is how I recovered from my battle with Buddy so quickly. Goodbye Buddy, Strange Woman with no sense as to what a hero is, and android. I am off to do something 'heroic' for the people of a city not too far off that was damaged during a battle with a monster known as Falstaff. Enjoy your recuperation Buddy.

Kai wordlessly walked to the door and picked up his things, he would wait for some one to speak up because he knew someone would.

"Do you think I'm impressed? Or worse, afraid? Don't insult me. You seem to assume that I care about understanding humanity or your self-made struggle with Rosencrantz or even who you are. I don't know what a hero is, that's a human affair and I'm not interested. Truth be told, it all matters very little to me. You and your kind can burn in Hell and I doubt I'd lose any sleep over it. Infact, I'd welcome it. Buddy is my only concern, you see, and if it weren't for him, I doubt I'd even know this Rosencrantz fellow's name."

Masika frowned as she glanced over her shoulder toward Buddy momentarily before returning her attention to Kai. She needed to reassure herself that the idiot wasn't trying to get out of bed again.

"I'm not telling you not to fight Rosencrantz. Do what you want because no matter how the battle ends, whether you or he dies, I'll be satisfied with the results. But for someone that doesn't want to start trouble, you did run your mouth quite a bit when you got in here. That's as far as my involvement with this situation goes so why don't you go rant about your mysterious pull to do the right thing to someone that cares to listen? You're pretty full of yourself to think that you can come in here and say whatever you'd like and everyone will just sit back and let you. That leads me to believe that you mingle with a bunch of pushovers. No wonder you think you're a hero. All I have to say is do not disturb Buddy again."

Kai: Well to be honest, since we are being that way, my parents died when I was at a young age. I had no one to help me besides myself, I had no time to interact with others, all I had were books, and research. My parents died in a fire, so the burn in hell remark hurts twice as much. So forgive me if my language is crude or at the least loud mouthed or obnoxious. I came here to see Buddy because I still consider him a friend and friends in the human world watch each other's backs. I saw what Rosencrantz did and I will not allow him to get away with it.

Kai said this turning around to the changeling, a smile spread across his face.

Kai: Look, I can see you are capable of watching over Buddy. Take good care of him and make sure to give him that medicine. Its from the Research and Development division of the Military. Its meant to heal wounds kind of like a senzu bean. Its not in production yet and it took a lot of favors to pull it off. Buddy, I am sorry if I ever crossed you, but please stay in and recuperiate, don't move, don't even think. Just get well.

Kai opened the door and took one final glance in to the room.

Kai: As much as I would love discussing things over with you guys, I have to go repair a damaged city. Good luck to both of you where ever the wind blows you.

Kai walked out and closed the door behind him.

"I tell you I don't care and you still continue. I'm beginning to wonder what you'd sound like on fire." Masika muttered as the man sought to leave, shaking her head in exhasperation before she turned to move back to the side of Buddy's bed. Upon returning to her chair, she again crossed one leg over the other as she turned her gaze on Buddy, glaring silently for a moment before speaking. "You'd better be sleeping." She warned. She'd have to remember to tell the lady at the desk that if she let anyone else into the room, she'd drag her through the city by her hair.

"Whew. Mind if I crack the window? That was a lot of hot air just now."

The voice came from just outside of the hospital room where Benvolio Madgey had been stationed for recovering. The battle with Rosencrantz had definitely left the all-star Capsule Corporation fighter in pretty bad shape. Biito had watched the entire match and was certain that Buddy would be in need of medical assistance. A few footsteps carried the Saiyan known as Biiito into the hospital room and a silent nod was given to Masika. He had not seen the female Changeling before but he could tell she had a particular interest in Buddy that was genuine. Biito had not even bothered to check with the lady at the desk. The usefulness of Instant Transmission is vast.

Friend or more, Biito knew what it was like to have someone that you cared about in a bad medical position. His voice was a notch lower than the usual, highly-projected nature that he spoke in. It was almost a guarantee that Biito needed no sort of microphone to speak to a large crowd. Black eyes looked over the resting human for a moment and sized up the damage down to Earth's hope.

Unlike Benvolio, Biito had no stake in protecting Earth from its oppressors other than it might be an order from the Knights. It was the dedication for doing an arduous task that had no reward that piqued Biito's interest about Buddy. At first he assumed the human was doing it for Capsule Corporation, but Buddy's level of strength came from something deeper. It was not purely the drive to get stronger either, so what was it that made the Punch Driven Sex Tornado tick?

"Buddy. I know you can hear me. That... guy is gone. I need to speak to you about a few things. And give you thanks for carrying me to the hospital after our match. The staff told me you refused to let them take me their and did it yourself. I need to know why."

Respect. It was something that Biito had for any fighter who he saw as powerful and had a decent amount of character to then. For Biito, judge of character came from if you wanted to main and murder everything in sight. No one had to be a super hero (a term he just learned while staying on Earth) to be a good guy in his book. Brown tail wrapped around his waist as he waited for the recovering human to respond to him. This conversation would be important in some decisions that Biito had to make about his direction from here on out. To put it simply, Biito was at a crossroad.

"I suppose I should thank you as well for that matter."

Reina stepped in right behind Biito and took a step beside him, her arms crossed over her chest as she glanced momentarily at the changeling female before lowering that gaze to Buddy. She felt her heart stop for a moment, though the momentary emotion never reached her eyes she couldn't help but cringe inwardly as she looked at him, because Reina sensed in this man a greater strength than in herself, and to see what the metal headed psycho had done to him? It chilled her to the very bones she enjoyed crushing. She shook her head as she looked from Biito to Buddy, then to Masika and took a deep even breath. She was the other finalist in this match, it was going to just be her against the mad machine in the final round, and she was his last opponent before victory. She knew damn well she'd gotten lucky in drawing the bye, and that that may have been the only reason she had survived this long. She wasn't a hero by any means, and she could tell that there wasn't a soul amongst them that was betting on her to win, to save them. Not that is mattered, Reina was far from perfect, and she was far from a great hope to the people.

"You are an amazing guy, I must admit, for a human." She smiled playfully, the amusement in her eyes as she lowered those hands to her sides. Her previous encounters with the fighter had been brief, and amusing to say the least, and seeing him that way, it softened her heart in a way she couldn't describe.

Reina kept quiet after that, because she knew this wasn't her conversation, she knew they had come there for Biito, for this knowledge he insisted on needing.

"Right, Sleep. First thing I think about…” Buddy would slowly begin to resituate himself back in his bed by the help of Solomon X – who was proving more nursing than his counterpart, “coming out of unconsciousness…is clocking in a good eight hours…"

Pinning himself under the ridiculously heavy feeling sheets, Buddy released a sigh of relief with the now absent Raven. The further he lay there though, he found himself thinking sleep wasn’t such a bad idea. Probably the encouragement of some kind of medicine he had running through his system or something stupid like that.

He would be cleared in perhaps, another day or so, but his body just needed to overcome some minor difficulties – difficulties an ordinary man wouldn’t have recovered from in a few months. Thankfully, Rosencrantz had the decency to leave his package alone. A courtesy he’d have to thank him for – after he found the means to tear into the robot’s hull . . . and do so with indisputable grounds.

Hearing Biito’s voice, for a half second he thought it was Kai returning trying to make a return where he wasn’t wanted, but once realizing who it was, Buddy resumed taking it easy. He’d offer Reina, Biito, and Reina’s rack who like Masika’s must be noted as a separate event altogether the warmest smile he could muster. His face was, for the most part, cleared up. He just looked like someone who he had spent the last three days in a tank.

He kept his eyes closed, Buddy folding his hands at the base of his abdomen, a laugh breathing itself out in a short burst at Biito’s greeting. Nodding lightly in agreement, he’d bundle amount of fabric in his hands, and thought it best he try and sit up on his own accord to try and entertain them, but after the Kai episode, just about all sort of energy had drained itself out of him in sitting up. Nope, he was resigned to his back, but he was sure no one would exactly protest it.

“I’m already a Jewish martial artist … way to tag another minority on me.” Buddy would murmur in a joking manner to Reina’s ‘for a human’ comment, allowing a solitary brown eye rest on the two. Listening to Biito though, Buddy’s smile would broaden. He wanted to know why? The answer was simple really.

“It was the right thing to do, I guess. We both… gave it our all in that fight. I was pretty banged up myself but… I just knew you could have easily got out of there with a win… I don’t know a lot of things about… about this universe but hell if I don’t know a champ when he punches me in the face... If there’s one thing I’ve learned about you in this tournament though Biito, you’re one prideful dude, and I was going to be damned if I walked out of that ring without you walking too.” Buddy had been near methodical in breaking down each opponent all three of them had faced. Buddy fought Biito, and would have ended up fighting Reina, so naturally he had tried to understand their weaknesses and strengths in combat – but also, he understood the weaknesses and strengths – of their personality. Buddy was a sponge when it came to soaking up details. Going into his fight with Rosencrantz, Buddy thought he had a chance and that undeniably he would come out the victor based on what he stood for, but he learned a hard lesson. Some people liked the rain… and sometimes there was nothing anyone can do to stop it. Next time they crossed paths though… next time…

Buddy would weakly offer his hand to Biito for a shake. Biito seemed to have something profound on his mind at the time – so he prepared himself to beat off the unavoidable slumber just a bit while longer for the sake of someone he naturally called a rival, but also, a friend. Also, he wanted to speak to Reina as well. She was going against that beast of a machine, and he hoped to give her his best brand of support possible.

Offered hand was taken with Biito's right and a solid shake was given. It was not often that Biito felt a connection with other fighter, but even though he did not know the human laying in the hospital bed well, Biito knew him. He knew that someone on the inside past the exterior of a brutish asshole, he would make the same decision that Buddy had made. There would be no hesitation in his decision even if it would land him in the same spot Buddy was in right now or worse. The question that Biito needed to answer was...

"Why? Why do you do it? You could easily aim for the top and sky-rocket past the rest of the fighters in the galaxy. But, instead you chose to defend."

Biito had spent the entire time after Buddy's match thinking about the direction he was headed. Strength was the most important thing for Biito, at least that is what he had thought. It was somewhere during the time between his visit to Buddy and the announcement of the Finals that Biito realized he had been running. Running from something that was calling on the inside and it was time that he face that fear. If he was truly the proud Saiyan that he said he was then he needed to overcome the biggest road block in his life so far. Himself.

Upon viewing Buddy he saw something inside of the human that reminded him of something that Biito used to have. The life on the streets of Vegeta for a twelve year-old would force changes into a person and those changes gave Biito strength but also weakness. Maybe Buddy, a man who he could tell was on a road that was for more than just strength, could help him with some answers.

"What makes you choose right over might?"

Buddy’s eyes would blink softly as he’d gaze upon Biito with this small silly grin on his face, as if he should know the answer already. He’d let a deep chuckle leave his throat before he’d lift his shoulders in a shrug, keeping a strong hold to Biito’s hand.

“Would you be visiting me now if I did? No matter what bro, I’ll always be the product of my environment – and I will only be as mighty as those I surround myself with.”

“I fight for those who can’t because I know that… the only reason I’m strong now is because someone already strong decided to share his power with me – and that master, as powerful as he was, knew the true meaning of power, which I think I’m starting to understand now: We are strong… so we can inspire and help those who aren’t… to be strong too. I mean, I can be strong all by myself, but if… if there are people there I can share my strength… childlike laughter and fashion sense with? Heh – that makes it all worthwhile to me."

"To me there’s no such thing as the ‘weak’. There are only people who haven’t realized their potential, or people who just can’t dance y’know? But, they’re all cool by me. We all have our faults… for me, I guess I’m just bad with technology… hopefully Reina can make up for where I suck at, eh? ” Buddy would smirk slyly, cutting his eyes to Reina for a moment before looking back to Biito.

“We need each other bro. No matter what planet ... hospital, burning ship or space pod we might have crawled out of... those of us who want something good out of life, like a new suit, a new bike... a lovely lady like we've been so lucky to find... we can't let it go to shit, and if we let the rest of the universe go to hell... how are we really going to enjoy ourselves? We can't stop the rain from falling... but I'll be damned if I lose my sunny day in the process." Buddy mostly said that for Masika, finishing an argument they had started on a balcony and ended in each other's arms. He was tired of talking in a way, and would pat the back of Biito's hand before he'd let his arm return to his side in the bed.
