Gotta say, Kuro can be a bitch if your opponent is using their moves correctly and has a string of them that work well in combination. There's nothing in the world like hitting two Poison Mists, then activating a skill that drains them of another ki point, leaving them rode hard and put up wet when it comes to powering up. Unlike Haokiru, Kurokonwaku still manages to keep things somewhat fun, especially if they are swapping out SUCCESSFUL effects for STOPPED effects like Keiji used to do all the time. |

Thanks for the props Dave, Keiji was a hell of a lot of fun. Moreso for me rather than who he was facing (Dan loathed him and nearly refused to spar him). I was definitely going for more of a variety with Keiji and what he could do. Aiden this time around is more of a one trick pony - thankfully that one trick happens to work well enough to get by. What's your favorite style? Why? I think I'm going to have to go with Midorikatai on this one. I've play tested all of them and have a set or two for each either typed up or in my head somewhere and I have to say I really dig what Midori can do this time around. It's come a long way since Mythos and some of the things it can do is downright scary. Everyone assumes the style is all about damage (which, honestly, it can be) but there are some golden effects in there that people overlook far too often. What's your favorite style to use? Why? Kurokonwaku. Much for the same reason Jay put here, it's just a lot of fun. It doesn't always win you matches by having the crazy damage or anything like that but it's definitely a fun time to be had for sure. Like Dave mentioned with Keiji, Manipulation mastery made the matches so entertaining. Every move was like a mini gamble to get an effect, some damage, effect and damage, or neither depending on how things went. Toss in some of the best effects in the game? It's great. And it's sure to piss off your opponent if you work things right, too. What's your least favorite style? Why? Everyone is hating on Haokiru it seems. I think my least favorite style, had I really needed to peg one, would have to be Kiihakai. Don't get me wrong, I've had a lot of fun making sets for it and all but I'm not too keen on a lot of the effects. A large majority of their available moves requires other effects beyond the SUCCESSFUL, such as having 25+ or having stopped your opponent's last attack, etc. I liked it better when it had that ally aspect to it from Mythos (wish someone had made the ally-based set... really do) but with the change this time where everything = Power, one of its golden benefits of having one stat for both fields (making it far easier to boost that one stat) has dropped its output. I don't know, it's not terrible but it doesn't quite click for me. What's your least favorite style to fight against? Why? I would have placed either Aoyusumo or Kurokonwaku as this option up until yesterday. Aoyu (at least in Mythic) can pump out a bunch of crazy effects that makes hitting your opponent damn near impossible while Kuro is the "hah hah, your moves don't work, go screw yourself" style. But given my current style choice I definitely have to go with Haokiru as least favorite to fight now. Why? Because when two people can heal back HP every turn without any sign of dealing out enough damage to get beyond that... fights just go on forever. I'm rather glad there aren't as many Haokiru users in Mythic. |

I'm going to go ahead and take that personal. D< Just kidding, lol I sorta agree. What's Your Favorite Style? Why? Honestly despite popular, or maybe common belief it's not Haokiru. I have a reason why my characters in the past have used Haokiru, but it wouldn't be my favorite style. I personally would like to work with Mido a lot, and do some of the shit that's been done to me, but just looking at styles, if I were to ever make my character the way I really wanted him to be from the start, I'd probably go with Kuro or Kiihaki. They're fun to watch in action and I wouldn't mind not having people pissed at me for healing every other turn, and making the fight last for an epicly long time. What's Your Favorite Style To Use? Why? I won't lie here, Hao is fun. Despite your beliefs and pre-judgements, to me the style is a lot of fun. There's not Any chains. (Well maybe 2.) But not nearly enough for doing a great astonishing template with like all the other styles. You're pretty limited to what you have to do, and despite what Gus says, I've seen Haokiru users, in this site, with very similar ending move set's so. . . I'll wait until that changes to argue it more. What's Your Least Favorite Style? Why? I don't have one, they all seem a lot more fun than I can imagine, but just to peg one, Probably Kuro. I'll explain why in a sec. What's Your Least Favorite Style To Fight Against? Why? Well Kuro. Fighting Ryan has always been a bitch, but seeing some of the logs, and hearing some of his ideas, the direction he was going with it, no never again. And then there's Buddy. . .I've gone down that road before it's too much trouble. Even at a higher PL, with more HP, and doing more damage, you still have a hard time fighting a Kuro user, with a clean move set. Some honorable mentions in this section of whom I hate fighting, Reina. End of Mentions. |

Favorite Style: Haokiru. I love the fact that a fight against a good user of Haokiru is an effort of futility. I love the idea of going "Oh so your power is 4k above mine? I can still heal more damage than you deal out bro." and then chipping at them until I win. Favorite to use: Also Haokiru. Sure it doesn't make for quick fights, and sure the admins probably hate watching it or whatever due to the math involved in healing, but that's why I like it. You can't tell me it's boring. Not when you have styles like Aoyu that is apparently like injecting yourself with roids all the time or that Might style where you just spam breaks. Is it fun for my enemy? Hell no. It isn't supposed to be. However lets say I'm getting my ass handed to me in a fight and suddenly I get lucky and refill my HP to max, snatching any hope of victory away from whomever I'm fighting. That's fun for me. It brings a shit-eating grin all over my face. You say it's boring to watch? Well once again I can't see any fighting style being "fun" to watch. I personally think you gents hate it because it's difficult to fight against. I don't know. But I personally am loving it and your reactions to it. Least Favorite Style? That art of Might that I seem to have forgotten the name of. I don't know what it is about the style, but I find it boring to use myself. It seems like very little thought has to go into the style for you to smash fucktons of damage onto your enemy. Like a sort of "HULK SMASH" style. Sure, Haokiru probably doesn't take much thought to put together a good set, but for some reason might doesn't appeal to me. Least Favorite to fight against? Aoyu or Kuro probably. Both have some rather bullshit movesets that can really mess me over. Kuro probably takes the cake though, since my many spars with Yama have left me grinding my teeth in anger (I recall wanting to punch Yama through the internet the first time he used puppet master and a broad sword in combination when I lacked a sword). My run-ins with Kuhn, while far less butt-clenchingly frustrating, has shown me that the style is obviously based around the idea of making it so your opponent can't do shit and then laughing about it while you slowly nibble them to death. Also Kuro can really screw up anyone's moveset if used right. Fighting against another Haokiru user would be the longest and most drawn-out fight ever. I really hope I never have to clash with one on par with myself. Fuck that shit. |

Was this supposed to be a joke? Epic fail btw. And on another note, who want's to eat shit, or their character at least? Furthermore, who brags about it? Epic fail I say again. |

No, he definitely got you. The " You eat shit? " joke wore itself out about a week after Happy Gilmore came out. The fact that you chose that as your PB never gets old and it's a cross you'll have to bare. Fail. |
