Sample RP, 300 words long:
Sunshine. A cool breeze. Kids playing. Nothing beat a nice summer day, or at least that was what Kisho thought as he silently meandered down the busy city streets with nothing on his mind outside of how nice it was to be alive. It wasn't often that he found time to appreciate the world around him anymore. No, he had been far too busy training his body and mind in attempt to reach some unknown level of confidence and power. That in itself was odd considering that he technically didn't have to worry about being accepted or pushed into such things, yet old habits die hard. He had to keep training, he had to keep pushing himself toward the peak of greatness. He just had to. It was something he would never understand, yet he would forever seem compelled to do.

Sigh.

It was a slightly depressing thought, really. The inability to choose what he had wanted to do with his life was that which made him 'give up' martial arts as his family saw it, yet still, even after he had decided to go out on his own, he was still training and doing everything that he had originally grown tired of. It was something he would never understand, but now wasn't the time to think about that. Now was the time to appreciate the world around him.

Coming to a stop upon a street corner, Kisho would take a moment to gaze around the world he inhabited, admiring the beauty of it all. The streets were lined with a sparse few cars, trees were planted along the sidewalk, children were playing in the park not too far off. It was nice here. He couldn't help but smile, yet once more that dark, lonely feeling managed to worm it's way into his mind and heart. For a moment he was jealous. He wanted to stay here, he wanted to have the sense of freedom that these people seemed to have, yet he seemed to be denied of this. It was maddening to be bound to such a strict lifestyle, especially when it was no one's fault but your own.

Time to leave.

Clenching his hands into tight fists, Kisho suddenly pushed off of the curb, his arms and legs pumping like mad as he began to dash off toward...who knows where. He didn't know where he was going, but that didn't matter right now. He had to escape this feeling for the time being. As he moved, he could hear the gasps of people and the honking of cars. Was he running out into traffic? Perhaps, but he paid no mind to it. Call it being a stupid teenager, but part of him told him that he wouldn't get hit by a car and if he did, he'd live. Regardless of these thoughts, he kept running and he wouldn't stop. He couldn't stop until he was gone from the city, or at least gone from the thoughts and feelings it imposed upon him.

Character's Biography (optional):
Abridged version, ‘cause it’s five in the morning and I’m fucking lazy.
Kisho was born to a relatively prominent family of martial artists. Expected to become the family’s heir to their art, he had been pushed into training since he was able to understand the most basic principles. However, while some children fall into line of what their parents want, Kisho did not. While training up until he reached the age of eighteen, he decided he had had enough of that lifestyle and ran off one night to do things on his own. Without money or a home, he has picked up the life of a vagabond.
