It was a silent day in the forest and Cailan, a young hunter was on look-out with his friend Katrish. They came across some werewolves where his friend tried to shoot them from behind the trees. He hid and then he showed himself again to take a quick aim at the Werewolves. Then he shot and hid himself again. That was his casual approach. Cailan grinned, "Ah Katrish! You've got no balls in your scrotem! Watch this!" He said, grabbing for his two daggers attached to his back. Then he stabbed one werewolves throat, while he slashed the throat of another. Cailan certainly loved a more direct approach. Katrish just shook his head at what Cailan was saying but also for other reasons. After the Werewolves were killed Cailan looked at their dead bodies. "Let's see... That's 6 for me... And let me count. Yeah, two for you! Well done, my friend..." He said sarcastically. "Common Cailan. Don't be such an ass and let's get out of here!" Katrish said annoyed. Cailain just kept a smug smile on his face as he beat Katrish into killing the Werewolves. But then he felt alerted. "Something is going on... We have intruders in the forest... And no, dummy they're not Werewolves!" Cailan said running towards the outskirts of the forest. "I didn't say they were Werewolves!!!" Katrish said running after his friend shaking his head again in disaproval. |

"Awch......." A voice moaned from inside a travelling carriage, "AWWWWWCH!!!! This is really starting to annoy me!!" A young noblewoman complained in a high and whiny tone. "What is it, M'Lady?" The elven handmaiden asked. "It's my BUM! We've been bouncing up and down in here for days and it HURTS!" "Another pillow?" The elf said handing her one, though she had none for herself. "No... I already have three and they don't help! Why can't we ride slower!" "Well.... If we did that, then it will take far longer to reach Redcliffe. We already detoured through the forests at your request.... Adding considerable time to the journey...." She pointed out. "Yes well, the other way is BORING. Just hills and grass, this is more exciting, don't you think Fay?" "Yes, M'Lady...." She sighed, with an almost hopeless smile on her face at the intelligence of her companion. "Oh look! There's men out there on horses!.... With bows!.... And arrows.... And.... Knives.... Coming..... This....... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!" The girl shouted out in alarm, making her handmaiden look up with alert, though luckily the guards and rider with them had already seen what was going on and began to speed up. "AGHHHH! ARGHHHH!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" The noblewoman screamed in a panic. "Shhh, calm yourself Sharlott!" Fay said in a supporting voice as she glanced out of the carriage window, seeing already that arrows were flying towards them, bombarding the side of the wooden door. She pulled her mistress to the floor as they shielded themselves from danger, but already things were becoming worse. At an awkward turn in the road, the driver was unable to keep the carriage steady as it toppled to its side, sending the driver flying into the bushes, unconscious. Fay recovered herself, seeing what had happened, though her mistress was screaming uncontrollably. "Sharlott! Be quiet, please!!" She insisted, putting her hand over her mouth as she listened for what was going on outside. She could heard nothing except their horses panicking, but it drowned out her being able to hear if other footsteps were approaching. She grabbed to a dagger at her belt, holding it up in her clenched fist as she dared to peak out of the door, which would mean throwing it upwards instead of outwards. As she was about to, a man poked his head through the entrance as he laughed at them, startling both women but sending Sharlott into hysterics of screaming. "Heh heh! Come check this out mates!! Two sweet little-" Before he could finish his sentence, Fay had quickly swiped her dagger across the man's throat, she knew these men were going to kill them. She had heard the stories, and she had to defend them as best she could. The blood poured down into the carriage, Sharlott panicking more as she backed off from it. Fay became more afraid now, as she heard the other men roar out of anger, seeing their comrade slain. She wondered where their own guards were, perhaps they were already dead, or fell from the carriage beforehand. But regardless, they were now in a serious amount of trouble. Fay lowered to her mistress, looking to her fearful eyes, "Well.... You wanted a more exciting ride(!)" She laughed a little, though only because of their hopeless situation. |

Cailan and Katrish reached the hillside where they were looking down the attack on the carriage. "What do you say, Katrish. Should we intervene?" He asked with an overconfident smile on his face. "No I say we stay out of this thing, let them massacre themselves and get back to the camp..." Katrish said as he was turning around to head back. Cailan sighed, "Hey dumbass... These bandits could try to intrude the camp if we don't do anything about it." He said annoyed since his friend didn't have the same sense of adventure as he did. "Well they would have to be really fucking stupid if they tried to do that!" Katrish said giving a little laugh. "Argh!!! You're impossible!" Cailan said annoyed juming from the hill grabbing to his daggers, slashing his way through the bandits to get closer to the carriage. Katrish sighed and grabbed to his bow. He was certainly acting more brave compared to the werewolf attack and kept shooting his arrows at the bandits. Cailan kept stabbing them, "How do you like that, mister!" He laughed slicing one bandit's head off, "Would you like a taste of this?" He asked another bandit sarcastically stabbing him in his belly. "Keep that coming!" He yelled out at his friend who was still firing arrows. Moments passed until the bandits all lay dead on the ground. There was blood everywhere and Cailan's armour was no different. He wiped the blood from his face looking at the carriage. He looked up where Katrish stood giving him a thumbs up, signalling everything was safe. Katrish climbed down the hill, while Cailan climbed ontop of the carriage. He looked through the door and saw two women. "Here! Grab my hand." He said with a friendly smile stretching out his hand while watching Fay who in his opinion looked rather dashing. |

Fay glanced up to the man who was looking in on the both of them, though she hesitated, it was clear he was not with the men who had attacked them. She looked to his outstretched hand that was in front of her, and as she was about to take it, Sharlott's hand grabbed to it for herself as she had just taken a glimpse at the handsome fellow who had saved them from certain death. "Oh!.... Oh!" Sharlott said breathy, as though she were weak, "Thank the Maker that you came when you did! If I had not managed to slash that foul man's throat, me and my servant would already be dead." Though most people would have been offended by her taking credit for someone else's handy work, Fay merely smiled as though she would to a naughty child. She then helped her to her feet, "Are you all right, M'Lady?" "I.... I.... I will be.... I think." She said in an exaggerated tone, as though she were weak. |

"You really slashed a guy's throat? Yeah I can see that with the amount of blood you have on your face...." He said sarcastically in a nonchalant manner. "I guess you were protecting her who does have blood on her face... And strangely enough she has 'your' dagger..." He added. Katrish rolled his eyes. He approached Cailan and the two women he was talking to. "Well you're safe and that is what matters." He said with a fake smile as he didn't like humans and certainly not elves pretending to be human, kissing up their arses. "We will help your carriage up, but then you will have to leave. This forest is forbidden domain." "Calm down, Katrish... We've just met this lovely girl... I mean these ladies... So can't you cut them so slack?" "These are the Keeper's rules. They are our laws and we have to abide by them, Cailan!" Katrish said lecturing his friend. "Yeeeaah... But laws are their to be.... Broken!" He said with a sneaky grin looking back at Fay. He approached her slowly, "Sooo, where is this dashing looking lady from..." He said in a seductive voice, smiling at Fay. Katrish only could roll his eyes again as he knew there was no point argueing his friend. |

Fay looked to him for a moment, not quite sure whether he was actually talking to her or to Sharlott. "WHY, I'm from a far off land, don't you know." Sharlott spoke, giving Fay reason to sigh with relief as she would not have known what to say to the young man, but instead she merely listened to what was being said, "I'm Sharlott de Valle, daughter of Teyrn de Valle. We are on our way to Redcliffe CASTLE to stay with our dear friends there." She boasted terribly. Fay merely smiled as always, glancing to her egotistical mistress affectionately, though many would not. She began to pick up a few of their belongings that was scattered across the forest floor, doing her best to shake the dirt off of them. Sharlott walked a little closer to Cailan, "So, may I ask who YOU are? I need to know the name of my SAVIOUR, you will of course be rewarded in ANY way you can think of to ask for." She grinned, "And I do mean ANYTHING, you know." She smiled. |

Cailan felt annoyed at the bitch who just kept babbling on. He sighed as he looked at her with bored eyes. "Um well if I'm getting a reward... What about a kiss?" Cailan said turning his face back to Fay with a sneaky smile. Katrish covered his face in shame when he heard the things he friend was saying, "Cailan, I don't think it's appropriate to..." Cailan interrupted him 'Quiet, Katrish!' He whispered back before looking at Fay again. "Now where were we..." |

Sharlott nearly burst with joy, "Why OF COURSE!" She said before puckering up as she closed her eyes and pouted her lips in Cailan's direction. Fay could not help but smirk a little as she found it quite cute, but she continued with her cleaning, nonetheless. "No offence, but I asked a kiss of her... Not you..." Cailan said looking a bit disgusted at Sharlotte. He turned his attention back on Fay, "It's HER I want to kiss..." He said with a sneaky grin. Sharlott looked to Fay then to Cailan before laughing, "OH! Oh, no no." She laughed in hysterics, "She's nobody. She's my servant, an elf. I'm the important one." She smiled as though what she had said was not offensive, "Well, now that that's all cleared up." She said suggestively, as though she still expected the kiss for herself. Fay smiled a little, then to Cailan who still seemed more interested in her, which she could not understand, "Pardon, ser, but my lady is correct. I am just a handmaiden from the Elven Alienage." She spoke softly, her accent fluttering with its Orlais influence. |

"Uhuh... And who were you again? Right, nobody!" He said nonchalant as he touched Fay by her hands, "I guess the lady doesn't realize me and Katrish are also Elves." He said with a smile. Katrish gulped, but kept his mouth shut. Sharlott looked as though she was about to get extremely offended before Fay looked to Cailan, speaking quietly, "Please, ser, she is very young and naive.... She doesn't mean any harm. She has never done me wrong." She said with pleading eyes before walking over to Sharlott, "He is just being playful, M'Lady." She smiled, clearly she was protective of her. "Oh..... OH!" Sharlott laughed with relief as she bought what Fay had said, "I see well, thank you both very much Mister..... Well, Mister Elf people, was very nice for people like you to do that." She nodded in a patronizing way. Fay smiled again but looked to Cailan, "You saved us...." She said in a soft tone, "Thank you." She said sincerely. "I just wanted a... What the heck... we'll just get your carriage up and you can... do whatever you want..." He said disappointed and whistled to Katrish to help him. They pushed the carriage up and grabbed the horses to reattach them to it. "There now you can go to... Redclive? Redcliff! Yeah that was it..." He said laughing though he still felt disappointed. |

As the carriage was placed back to its wheels, the driver and then the remaining guards returned to the scene, "My Lady!!! My Lady!!" The driver shouted, pushing Fay out of the way rather harshly as he went towards Sharlott, "There you are! Are you all right?! I'm so sorry! You could have been killed were it not for me!" "Oh, I'll be all right, after a week or so to recover." Sharlott said with a sigh as though she had just endured the worst event of her life. As Fay rubbed to the side of her arm where she was shoved, she looked over to Cailan, giving him a faint smile, though it was more apologetic than anything else. "Fay! What are you doing standing there?! Help Lady de Valle!!" The driver shouted, as Fay jumped a little with fright as she went to Sharlott, helping her back into the carriage. |
