1. Solo Threads Solo threads are threads used for a character to grow on their own. These can either be training or plot development in nature. Either way, one may be completed per month, for 5exp. Solo threads should be between 1-1.5 pages in length. 2. Standard threads Standard threads are threads where two or more characters interact. Players will earn 1exp per 2 posts that they contribute to the thread. After the initial round of posting, "post order" is established, and should be stuck to unless someone drops out of the thread or doesn't post for 3 days. 3. Plot Threads Plot threads are run by staff, and are, as indicated, threads that advance the boards plot. Participating in these threads awards 1exp per post that characters contribute. The staff member running the plot will decide when someone has been inactive for long enough to skip, and once the thread is completed may hand out bonus EXP at their discretion based on the quality of each participants posts. 4. Tournaments As is traditional with DBZ oriented sites, tournaments will be a common event. Tournament threads award 1 exp per 2 posts contributed, as well as a prizes that will be announced when the Tournament is. 5. Mentoring Mentoring isn't a type of thread so much as it is a special kind of standard or plot thread. If a NPC or Character that has been awards the title of "master" trains the other character or characters in the thread, those characters get a 50% bonus from the exp awarded that thread. ....................................................................................................................... Special consideration: Some people will naturally RP more than others, and thus gain more EXP. While its not fair to punish these individuals, it does make running plots harder when a few are vastly stronger than the other players. To balance this, any character that doesn't earn at least 50% of what the highest earning character gets will get this difference in bonus exp. Anyone that doesn't get this bonus instead gets a bonus 10% exp for that month. For example: Goku earns 100exp this month. Vegeta earns 90exp this month. Gohan earns 50exp this month. Krillan earns 40exp this month. Yamcha earns 30exp this month. Krillan would get a bonus 10exp, and Yamcha would get a bonus 20, bringing both of them up to 50exp. Goku, Vegeta and Gohan would earn a bonus 10%, bringing the final numbers to: Goku: 110exp Vegeta: 99exp Gohan: 55exp Krillan: 50exp Yamcha: 50exp ................................................................................................................................ Spending EXP: Now that you know how to earn exp, your probably wondering how to spend it to make your character stronger. This is pretty simple. Raising Strength costs 2. Raising Ki costs 3. Raising Speed costs 5. Raising Reflex costs 2. Raising skills works a little differently, as each skill has its own cost per rank depending on the strength of the skill. EXP is also spent on learning techniques. Like skills, each technique has its own costs, and some techniques may only be learned by RPing with a Master that knows it.
