the Lake Cumberland Classic, October 23rd & 24th!
Friday, October 23rd Late Models will be racing for $2,000 to win! $800 to win for Open Wheel Modifieds. A $100 Bonus will go to the Super Dirt winner. Plus, Chevettes & Front Runners will also be racing.
Then, on Saturday, October 24th, it’s the
LAKE CUMBERLAND CLASSIC “HAROLD HARDGROVE MEMORIAL”,
$4,000 to win for the Late Models!!! $800 to win for Open Wheel Modifieds.

NASRA to sanction 19th Lake Cumberland Classic/Harold Hardgrove Memorial Weekend

BURNSIDE, KY (September 29, 2009)—C.J. Rayburn’s National All-Star Racing Association is pleased to announce Tuesday that they will sanction the 19th Annual Lake Cumberland Classic/Harold Hardgrove Memorial Weekend at the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky.

The weekend honors Speedway Owner Harold Hardgrove who died on August 28, 2009. Hardgrove bought the Speedway in the fall of 1997. During his 12 years at the helm Hardgrove brought back the famous Lake Cumberland Classic during his first year of ownership and even hosted a $10,000 to win Late Model event in November of 2002, the largest paying race during his tenure.

On Friday Night October 23, 2009 the NASRA Late Models will open the weekend with a $2,000 to win / $200 to start 35-lap feature event. The local Open Wheel Modifieds will compete for $800 to win while the Super Dirt Stocks will race for $400 to win, $200 to win for the Front Runner class while the Chevettes will also be on the racing card.

Then on Saturday Night October 24, 2009 the 19th Annual Lake Cumberland Classic/Harold Hardgrove Memorial Weekend concludes with a $4,000 to win / $300 to start 45-lap feature event. The local Open Wheel Modifieds will compete for $800 to win while the Super Dirt Stocks will race for $400 to win, $200 to win for the Front Runner class while the Chevettes will also be on the racing card. Also on Saturday Afternoon at 1:30 p.m. a $100 to win Cornhole Tournament will be held along with LIVE Bands and a Driver’s Autograph Session slated for 5:30 p.m.

The Super Late Models will run under National All-Star Racing Association Rules and Procedures both nights. The Super Late Models will also have a $25.00 entry fee each night. The Tire Rule each night will be as follows: American Racer—MD56 or Hoosier—LM40, D55, WRS-2-55, 1600 and rear tires must punch 58. Front tires are open. The events at Lake Cumberland will be the final two points races on the 2009 NASRA Schedule. Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, Georgia is the current point leader of NASRA.

The gates will open both days at 4:00 p.m. with Hot Lapping slated for 7:30 p.m. Adult General Admission on Friday Night is $15.00 with Adult Pit Passes being $35.00. Adult General Admission on Saturday Night is $20.00 while Adult Pit Passes will be $35.00.

The Lake Cumberland Speedway is located approximately eight miles South of Somerset, KY and one-half mile South of Historic General Burnside Island State Park on the East side of US Highway 27.
