Now that the dust has settled what did everyone think of the first Chaos at the Creek Enduro Race? My personal experience was great! I absolutely love running the enduros at Brushcreek! Although I am going to try to travel to a few others this year. -Racing in the day time. Visibility was great(except dust). -I liked how the track got tacky as the race went on. -Liked the start on the front stretch. -The whole 100 laps one was good too.(I was think as driving this is the longest 50 laps ever!) -Quality and quantity of cars! -Clean race, no one out there trying to take people out, just racing! -No red flags! -Frozen straw bales! Some how I avoided hitting any! But I’m sure it made a good show for fans! -Dust in turn 3. But understand there was nothing that could be done. Water if able to get on track would have made a frozen mess at start!(It took a pair to run in there full steam, it took me about half the race to finally start doing it) Edited by 7purdy, Jan 6 2009, 01:18 PM.

It was a good show and something to do on Jan 1. The start on the front was cool, I suggested it. Kevin was actually supposed to do driver introductions and interviews to be broadcast on the site. He didn't have any batteries and went to the gas station. When he got back 15 minutes later it was lap 30. Chalk it up to one of those organizational things Brushcreek needs to work on. I also liked the track getting wetter as the race progressed. Maybe to help it next year and get the surface a little bit more raceable they would add 5 laps of hot laps to everyone? Maybe do it earlier in the morning, it would make the show feel more complete and would give the guys a chance to feel the track out before going on it at speed. It's kinda funny you say that about the 50 laps. I was thinking the same thing in the stands, I don't know what happend there? But I am glad it stuck to being a one way race. The going the opposite direction is cool to see once in awhile, but should be used as a gimmick and once a season to make the race stand out. The straw and other chit he had on the track was stupid in my opinion. Next year I hope for more cars and more structure. That is the main thing that is lacking at that track. No one had a idea when things were starting, no one had a clue who was driving what, and listening to them talk over the radio none of the staff even knew what was up. Set times, set rules, and presenting things a little better will go along way in estabilishing this as a event fans wanna come out and see. I hated sitting in silence and not knowing who was driving what, luckily I know my stuff and I walked around the pits. Had I been a fan who was there for the first time I would have been miserable and left out of there wondering what the hell I just seen. You K4 and the 88 put on a hell of a show. Thanks! |

i loved the dedication of the drivers who battled the cold temps to put on a show. i myself loved the idea just needed a lil more organazation im with jody i was a lil upset that we really didnt know what was going on no one had a clue how many laps was actually raced i dont think they really knew honestly. i kinda liked the bales of straw it made things a lil more exciting in the begining i myself wouldve liked to see them get stopped and turned around.. it wouldve made the rules for a stock car stick a lil better i seen at least 1 car that had staggered tires and the RF brake shut off so if they wouldve stopped them halfway that car wouldnt ahve been as competive as it was but all in all i had a good time and i think next year if the car count breaks 50 they should run 2 8 lap heats and then turn them lose for 100 laps hell i made a 1 1/2 hour drive for that show and it was over in no time... atleast give the guys some hot laps no one could even bet he cars.... |

I agree with Jody about the rules being clear. They said no smaller than mid size and there was little cars out there in the video. I would have liked to run it not that my wife would let me haul out to where is this track at Kentucky or something anyways, but I had a legal race ready car in my garage and didn't know it. How many more guys like me are out there? Maybe with wives who are more understanding than mine or even better with no wife at all. Looked like a good time but Jesus it looked like it was cold out there. PS don't turn them right, that crap ain't safe the lights on the track are all set up facing the other way so you won't know if there is a red flag unless you are on the front stretch where you can see the flag man. I suppose it would be Okay if you had racievers. great site Jody keep up the good work. Jake Edited by Rocky, Jan 15 2009, 04:22 PM.
