From: Andreas Rasmussen, Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdoms of Denmark and Norway
To: Akis Tsohatzopoulos, Ambassador of the Mediterranean Commonwealth to the United Kingdoms of Denmark and Norway
Subject: Tabloid statements concerning the Dominion of Gibraltar

Esteemed Mr. Ambassador,

I contact you on behalf of Her Majesty's Government of the Kingdom of Denmark concerning the recent news article found in the Italian-language newspaper "La Repubblica", which cites that the Government of the Mediterranean Commonwealth will, quote, "enter negotiations with Denmark about the Gibraltar issue". The newspaper went as far as suggesting that your government would propose some plebiscite to be held concerning Gibraltar.

Her Majesty's Royal Danish Government inquires as to the specific nature of the statements. First of all, which issue or incident does your government refer to? Secondly, are the rumours of the plebiscite request true, and if they are, on what justifications does the Government of the Mediterranean Commonwealth involve itself in the interior affairs of a foreign nation?

I ask that you convey your government's formal answers to me the soonest possible, so that Her Majesty and Her Majesty's Royal Danish Government may be informed of your policies and doctrines.

Signed,

(signature)

Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdoms of Denmark and Norway
