Arzhamars Other names: Selenarans Family: Selenaris Genus: Selenarensis Species: Selenarensis Height: - Males: 130 - 150 cm (140 cm. average) - Females: 140 - 160 cm (150 cm. average) Weight: - Males: 20 - 40 kg (30 kg. average) - Females: 30 - 50 kg (40 kg. average) Colouration: - Hair: Shades of black, purple, green or blue. - Eyes: Shades of orange, blue, gold, silver, green, or red. - Skin: Shades of purple, blue or ash. Subspecies: -- Nycterii: Feature purple or blue skin and just about any eye or hair colour, these Arzhamars are the most wide-spread variety and live in the more tolerant regions of Qahir-3. They feature better night vision than the other varieties. -- Pyrii: This variety is more much tolerant to heat, and lives near volcanic regions. They tend to feature ash skin and orange or red eyes with ash or black hair, though variations are not uncommon. -- Ela'rusii: This variety is much more tolerant to cold and lives near the polar regions of Qahir-3. They offer ice blue skin, hair and eyes, with variations in shades. Variations in shades are uncommon but not unheard of. Lifespan: Up to 160 to 200 years, adulthood at 16. Arzhamars age at about the same rate as humans, until the age of 25; at that point, they cease growing old, with old age visible through the silvering of their hair. Home planet: Qahir-3 Home system: Selenar-2/46 Physical description: Arzhamars are humanoids not too shorter than humans and of a similar appearance, but much lighter because of the conditions on their home planet. They generally have seemingly frail but actually stout builds with little excess fat, long pointed ears (10 to 15 cm long) and little to no body hair, due to the high average temperature of their planet. Although they lack physical strength by comparison, they tend to be smart and agile, favouring speed and cunning over brute force. They have big hearts for their size, and generally live about twice to two and a half times as long as the average human can. Special characteristics: Arzhamars have excellent vision even in the absence of proper lighting, but they cannot see in total darkness. They also feature excellent hearing thanks to their long, pointed, directional ears, and excellent scent with their somewhat flatter noses, that can detect scents up to many miles away. They have very good adaptive abilities and can survive in different environments in terms of atmospheric pressure and composition without support, so long as the atmosphere isn't too different from their own (such as, for example, Earth's.) They have a nanite host and pheromonal communication capabilities (see below.) - Nanite host: Arzhamars each host a symbiotic nanite "host", microscopic bio-machines that live in their bodies. These viral machines reproduce by utilising chemicals and metals found in the body and pass on from generation to generation, and generally provide additional immunization to disease (making Arzhamars harder to infect by diseases) as well as the capability to learn "harnessing" them. They generally "feed" on foreign bodies, including nanites of other individuals should they somehow change bodies. By "harnessing" them, an Arzhamar can achieve seemingly "supernatural" phenomena by using them to affect the moisture, temperature, and other characteristics of their environment, and thus create imitations of the classical elements like water, fire and ice, achieving effects that can be considered "magical" by an inexperienced observer. Such a thing requires training, however, and more advanced "secrets" of the nanites require very hard training to unlock. Most Arzhamars do not realise they host such nanomachines, and consider these capabilities innate. These nanites are a "relic" left over by the Selenar Empire. - Pheromones: By partly utilising their own biological structure and partly their nanites, Arzhamars can exploit pheromones to a certain degree, allowing them to communicate and affect emotions over short distances (generally up to 10 metres.) By utilising advanced technology they can utilise pheromones to pass on complex messages in the form of a unique telecommunication potential. History: WIP Edited by Antartis, Feb 19 2010, 06:38 PM.

Hecatians Other names: Hecatii, Void Demons Family: Selenaris Genus: Selenarensis Species: Hecatianis Height: - Males: 143 - 163 cm (155 cm. average) - Females: 143 - 163 cm (155 cm. average) Weight: - Males: 34 - 52 kg (43 kg. average) - Females: 34 - 52 kg (43 kg. average) Colouration: - Hair: White - Eyes: Shades of blue or red. - Skin: Pale complexion, with traces of pigmentation. Subspecies: N/A Lifespan: Virtually unlimited (individuals are known to be over 22.000 years old), with adulthood at 16. Hecatians age at about the same rate as humans, until the age of 25; at that point, they cease growing old. Home planet: Hecat-2 Home system: Acheron-1/3 Physical description: Hecatians, like their parent Selenarans are humanoids not too shorter than humans and of a similar appearance, but much lighter because of the conditions on their home planet. They generally have seemingly frail but actually stout builds with little excess fat, pointed ears (15 cm long) and little to no body hair. Hecatii lack strength by comparison, but they tend to be smart and dexterous, favouring speed and cunning over brute force. They have big hearts for their size. Special characteristics: Hecatii have excellent vision even in the absence of proper lighting, but they cannot see in total darkness. They have great adaptive abilities and can survive in different environments in terms of atmospheric pressure and composition without support, so long as the atmosphere isn't too different from their own (such as, for example, Earth's.) - Regenerative factor: Void Demons are rather infamous for their almost-magical abilty that allows them to regrow any tissue in their bodies with surprising ease, as long as their cranium remains largely intact. This both makes the Void Demon immortal and stupidly hard to kill, as anything short of crushing their cranium, desintegration or exile into space is not going to work. This regeneration also accounts for their partenogenetic births, the total incompatibility with nanites of any kind (unlike other Selenar species), and their abysmally low fertility. - Pheromones: By partly utilising their own biological structure, Hecatians can exploit pheromones to a certain degree, allowing them to communicate and affect emotions over short distances (generally up to 10 metres.) By utilising advanced technology they can utilise pheromones to pass on complex messages in the form of a unique telecommunication potential. Utilizing their pheromone-excreting abilities boosted even further by their fast regeneration factor, Void Demons can numb and make docile some other targets, as if they were under the effect of a "charm" of some sort. Mashriqi Other names: Souls, Beings, Tziki Family: Primai Genus: Mashriqi Species: Mashriqi Height: - Males: 80 - 110 cm (93 cm. average) - Females: 76 - 99 cm (88 cm. average) Weight: - Males: 65 - 100 lbs. (73 lbs. average) - Females: 60 - 90 lbs. (68 lbs. average) Colouration: - Hair: None. - Eyes: Shades of orange, brown, and red. - Skin: Shades of light pink to white. Subspecies: -- Mini: A diminutive, but almost physically identical species, in the same family and genus as the Mashriqi. Intellectually immature, they live in trees in the forests around the Homeworld. They are darker in skin color than the Mashriqi, and are often kept as adopted pets. Lifespan: The average age of death is 88. Home planet: Mashriq-2, locally referred to as "Homeworld" Home system: Mashriqi-1/4, locally referred to as "Homestar" Physical description: The Mashriqi are humanoid primates, that walk on two legs. They are short, about the size of human children, a remnant of their species past that lived in caves. They are highly intelligent and inquisitive, but violent, and ultra-fertility leads to overpopulation, which in turn leads to near constant warfare. Special characteristics: Although oxygen is necessary for their survival, their atmosphere is comprised of heavy nitrogen and carbon dioxide gasses, which they have adapted too. An ideal environment for a human would be suffocating, though not enough to kill, and make the Being very uncomfortable. They generally travel in exo-suits when outside their planet. Kaldarans Other names: Selenarans Family: Selenaris Genus: Selenarensis Species: Kaldarensis Height: - Males: 120 - 140 cm (130 cm. average) - Females: 130 - 150 cm (140 cm. average) Weight: - Males: 40 - 60 kg (50 kg. average) - Females: 50 - 70 kg (60 kg. average) Colouration: - Hair: Shades of gold or brown. - Eyes: Shades of orange, gold, or brown. - Skin: Diverse shades of tan and bronze. Subspecies: N/A Lifespan: Up to 250 to 300 years, adulthood at 16. Kaldarans age at about the same rate as humans, until the age of 25; at that point, they cease growing old, with old age visible through the silvering of their hair. Home planet: Kaldar-4 Home system: Hel-6/76 Physical description: Kaldarans are humanoids not too shorter than humans and of a similar appearance, but stouter than other Selenar races because of the conditions on their home planet. They generally have pointed ears (10 to 15 cm long) and abundant body hair (females even have facial hair), due to the extremely hot temperatures of their desert-like planet. Unlike other Selenar races, Kaldarans favour strength over speed, and are particulary strong and resilient for their size. They have big hearts and generally live about twice to thrice as long as the average human can. Special characteristics: Kaldarans have excellent vision even in the absence of proper lighting, but they cannot see in total darkness. They also feature excellent hearing thanks to their long, pointed, directional ears, and excellent scent with their somewhat flatter noses, that can detect scents up to many miles away. They have very good adaptive abilities and can survive in different environments in terms of atmospheric pressure and composition without support, so long as the atmosphere isn't too different from their own (such as, for example, Earth's.) These viral machines reproduce by utilising chemicals and metals found in the body and pass on from generation to generation, and generally provide additional immunization to disease (making Kaldaranss harder to infect by diseases) as well as the capability to learn "harnessing" them. They generally "feed" on foreign bodies, including nanites of other individuals should they somehow change bodies. By "harnessing" them, a Kaldaran can achieve seemingly "supernatural" phenomena by using them to affect the moisture, temperature, and other characteristics of their environment, and thus create imitations of the classical elements like water, fire and ice, achieving effects that can be considered "magical" by an inexperienced observer. Such a thing requires training, however, and more advanced "secrets" of the nanites require very hard training to unlock. Only a few do, the so called Kaldaran Magi, which also are aware of the nature of this Selenar leftover. - Pheromones: By partly utilising their own biological structure and partly their nanites, Kaldarans can exploit pheromones to a certain degree, allowing them to communicate and affect emotions over short distances (generally up to 10 metres.) By utilising advanced technology they can utilise pheromones to pass on complex messages in the form of a unique telecommunication potential. History: WIP Edited by Antartis, Sep 8 2010, 09:40 AM.
