I don't think that we should have spell backfire. It would ruin some laserlight shows that can come about a mage vs mage fight I also think that staffs and wands should make spells more powerful so they are not totally useless. We should have a class system I think we should have a list of defined spells with defined spell levels that go with differnt classes, so we don't have people godmod. So, he is my attempt for classes Barbarian (Pure fighting with emphasis on durability , can use rage) Bard (Singers/Poets, semi-limited arcane spellcasting) Cleric (Warships Gods, Pure-Divine spellcaster) Druid (Nature-lover, Pure divine Spellcaster) Fighter (Pure fighting, relies on armor) Monk (Fights with fist) Paladin (Pure fighter with limited divine spellcasting) Ranger (Pure archery, limited divine spellcasting Rogue (Thief, relies on dexterity and light weapons) Sorcerer (Pure arcane spellcaster, more limited spellbook, but casts more spells) Wizard (Pure arcane spellcaster, more spells to cast, but casts less spells then sorcerer) Edited by Dr. Awesome, May 31 2009, 03:05 AM.

It's "ROGUE", not "ROUGE." Rouge is what women put on their face and it means red. ffs. And it's a wee bit 3E imo :P I am a bigger fan of 4e I have to admit. It has a better array of classes and with better limitations and no overlapping like with 3E. |

Me thinks you should add Death Knights and Necromancers Spell List(spells taken from ADnD 2nd edition players handbook): Level 1 Armor (creates magic armor) Burning Hands (shoot fire from fingers) Change Self Charm Comprhend Languages Detect Magic Erase (Erases magical runes) Find Familiar (summons magical animal) Hold Portal (magically keeps a door open/closed) Hypnotism Identify Light (creates ball of light to light darkness) Magic Missile Mending (repairs broken items) Shield Sleep Unseen Servant (creates a magical force to do basic tasks, cannot be harmed and caanot harm) Level 2 Alter Self (more advanced form of change self) Blindness Darkness (creates 15 foot area immersed in total darkness) Deafness ESP (read thoughts) Flaming Sphere (creates ball of fire to roll in direction wizard points) Hypnotic Pattern (creates weaving pattern to cause creatures to gaze at it) Invisibility Knock (opens locked doors) Know Alignment Levitate Locate object Acid Arrow (shoots magic arrow that inflicts acid damage) Mirror Image Scare Strength (increases strength of a character) Summon Swarm Web Level 3 Blink (teleportation from one spot to another) Dispel Magic Explosive Runes (creates runes that explode when an unauthorised person enters an area) Feign Death Fireball Fire Arrow Fly Haste Hold Person (makes any humanoid immobile) Infravision (lets wizard see in darkness) Lightning Bolt Summon Monster I Slow Spectral Force (creates illusion on an object) Tongues (speak and understand languages) Vampiric Touch Water Breathing How's that so far? I think we need uniformity. Since we seem to be using D&D anyway, let's use uniform R3E or 4E when it comes to races, spells and classes. I am familiar with both and can help running with both, but I'd prefer 4E because it's easier to handle for both DM and player alike. R3E might be best though, since the SRD's public and all, so you can access the class and spell descriptions to achieve some uniform describing as well. |

I'm so not familiar with any of these systems you're talking about. The complexity of constraints is kind of offputting. |

My recommendation is this:
We can forget the rules and just use them as sources for ideas and reference, really. |

Many of the monsters in the list are intelligent and thus playable as races. Although it's obvious it's pretty unlikely to have a nation of Gelatinous Cubes, a country of Drow, Elementals or Dragons is manageable, but of course this requires adapted populations. The stronger the monster, the smaller the population should be. Luckily 3E has a simple way to determine the level of a monster. A Red Dragon has the potential of "40d12+400" for its Hit Dice, or 40 levels, plus a "-" (ie 0) level adjustment. This works like this:
This Red Dragons have ECL 40 max. Which is friggen mutant and too goddamn strong, and that's without any class levels, just racial. Now, for drow elves:
So drow have a minimum level of 3 (1 class level, +2 level adjustment for being of a powerful race.) There will be way, way more drow than dragons. Similarly, as high elves have a total of 1 (1 class level and 0 level adjustment minimum) then high elves will be more numerous than the drow. To put the equation simply:
Minimum # of Hit Dice is always 1. It can be racial or class: if the monster entry says something like "Drow, 1st level Warrior" then the Hit Dice presented are class hit dice (1 in the given example.) If it says simply "Red Dragon, Great Wyrm" then it has no class levels, and all 40 hit dice are racial. |

I think there need to be more features defined, but still a good job, we could use that if more details and borders are added

Archipelagos, deserts, tundras, mountains and other various shit would be nice Other then that, its nice PS: If you want me too, I can make the borders, I can make chosing plots alittle more tactiful rather then just having people pick random plots. Edited by Dr. Awesome, Jun 2 2009, 01:14 AM.

Map now with regions. I don't have names for the regions though. Might want to come up with names before staking out territories.

You mean like the geographic features? Like the 'Gulf *name*' or the 'Great Plains'?
