Well we have a regukar RP and a space RP, so I've been thinking that we should create a fantasy RP. We could either make a fantasy map, or use regular earth and say a wizard did it. Or we could try to connect it with the space RP, but that probably won't work well. So, what are the ideas ya'll have about this.

I'd take part in it, especially if we simply make it an AU of the regular RP. Ukraine would be horsemen peoples and stuff. Or steppe elves. Or orcs or something. We'll see.

I'm not opposed.

But there should be some kind of substitute for the real-time telecommunications capability space and modern RP has. Without technology, an ocean represents three months time just to cross - both ways - and that goes for messages, news, information as well as cargo and people. So magic needs to cover that somehow... or, the map needs to be really small and things happen on a much more local scale (though even then).

They could either
A) Have wizards communicate by use of orbs or something
B) Steampunk elements to justify telegraph wires

@ edge, nice map.

Though it would be nice, I've put too much effort into developing both my Draki nation (maps and all) and my Nth'ch (bug) race and ships to have the time to develop another race for the fantasy role play (maybe later on perhaps).

If we do play on Faerun, I'd like my empire to be centred on Anauroch Desert and old Netheril, though some fertile areas should be under its influence as fiefdoms or whatever. We could even try considering the 4E map of Faerun (this one you provided is 3E)

I think this might just cover races
Magic System:
There will be three categories of spells, offensive, alteration, and summoning. Offensive spells are pretty self explanitory, magic missle, fire ball, acid splash, etc. Alteration spells affect a person or the enviornment such as healing spells, stat boosts, shields, polymorphs, etc. And summoning is the act of summoning [insert monster here] to protect the summoner. Magic can be cast in three different ways, through hands, a staff, or a wand. With hands the spell will be more powerfull, but will drain more magic power and be more likely to backfire. A staff is basic, not great, but not bad, not too costly, but not too cheap. A wand will have the least effective magic, but will be less of a drain and have almost no chance of backfiring. Backfiring will be a 1-50% chance of the spell blowing up in one's face for offensive, or failing for the other two. Finally magic points are the amount of power a wizard or sorcress has to use spells, weaker spells cost less while more advanced cost more.
All and all I think that works
