the Space RP has its own history so far and this will present that in a timeline form. race/nation histories can also go here if you want. Not sure what calandar system to use - uh, how about the gregorian? Let's say it's uh, year 2259 when the Federation-Slaar war began. (So if we're jumping ahead fifty years after that, as discussed, it will then be 2309). Obviously this is incomplete, post in the thread to help! January 5 - February 2, 2259: The Slaar-Federation War -January 5, 2259: The Hakeths Bane, a merchant cruiser captained by a Slaar named Kraw to a starbase in the Andoria System (the Slaar had called it 'Briggan'). It delivered a clandestine cargo consisting of a microfusion explosive, which severely crippled the starbase and prompted the arrival of 8 ships of Starfleet Battlegroup Omega under Vice Admiral Don Jameson to the system. The merchant captain and a Federation officer working for the N.E.G., Lieutenant Commander Jack Vega, escaped the starbase. Under Captain Sorok, the 7 warships and 4 armed merchant ships (Alpha Fleet, under Warlord Jutamo) - arrived in the system and covered their escape, engaging in The First Battle of Andoria which heralded the beginning of hostilities later known as the Federation-Slaar War. The battle ended with a cease-fire offered by the Federation, who had suffered fewer losses. War was declared by the Slaar soon after:
-January 29, 2259: The ISDN sent an Invasion Fleet commanded by Admiral Borth, resulting in the Second Battle of Andoria. Outnumbered, forces of the Federation First Fleet under the commands of Admirals Jameson and Jellico were defeated and surrendered the system of Andoria. During the firefight, they managed to annihilate over a third (66) of the invasion ships (including battleships Red Claw, Dark Tide, and Iron Fang), at the cost of 50 defending. -February 02, 2259: Admiral John Jellico led what was to be a Raid on Andoria and proved to be instead the liberation of Andoria and the final battle of the war. Federation forces inflicted, as before, horrendous casualties on the Slaar but lost many vessels of their own. Unbelievably to all, the Slaar force surrendered (right after over 60 Slaar ships had arrived): the homeworld had been destroyed, and with it most of the Slaar government. Its remaining High Council members, King Borth and King Vhor, agreed between them to end the war as quickly as possible to help maintin unity and order in the face of Dissolution. The Slaar agreed to withdraw completely from Andoria and sign a peace treaty. As in the second battle, a third and mysterious interstellar power arrived, observed the Slaar and Federation behavior, and provoked attempts by both parties to establish communication. February 22, 2259: Federation and Tau make first contact in the depths of space. March 3, 2259: Federation and the Talos make first contact in Alpha Centauri. April 5, 2259: Slaar and the Talos make first contact in Vorak. Edited by Nuke, Apr 24 2009, 02:17 AM.
