The Rules operating on Destination Unknown Any who break the following rules, depending on the severity, will be warned at first, then banned. Forums 1. Do not spam: This includes posting any unwanted or irrelevant material. Examples include posting any links or messages that add nothing to an existing discussion or topic. Multiple posts (either containing the same content or being irrelevant) are considered to be spam. Bumping up topics (with Ooc context) is also spam. 2. Do not multiple-post: This is when the author posts a multiple number of times in succession to their previous post; without any other author having 'broken' the sequence. If you missed something out of your post, or felt the need of an Ooc, simply edit your previous post and add it there. Exceptions: At the start of a roleplay, some authors may choose to use a post to lay down the plot and the rules for that topic, and use another post for their introduction. This is allowed. The other exception is in the Characters Forum. Authors are allowed continual posts for their various character profiles. 3. Limit off-topic conversation: Within a roleplay, follow the storyline and keep Ooc to a minimum. If you need to explain a certain aspect of your post, you may do so, but keep it brief. For any other information (for example, explaining why you haven't posted until now) you may use the chatbox at the top of the forum. Also, try not to finish posts commenting on how bad you think it was, it adds nothing to it. 4. Limit explicit or obscene content: As there are likely to be young minds using the forums, please try to keep explicit material to a minimum. Swear-words are to be avoided (a filter is in place to make sure of it), please do not try to bypass the filter (eg @$$). Although some roleplays may be violent and gorey, and some characters lewd, please do not post obscenities in your writings. We do not want to see any sexual, drug, racist, or obscene content posted on our site, there could be young minds here, and no one else wants to see it. This includes links to other sites containing porn, even if it is porn in the ads of a relavent site the link will be removed and yourself warned. Don't do it. No bad language. Keep it to a broadcast-TV standard please. No F-word, no S-word, no N-word, no C-word. Anything you wouldnt hear in a PG movie or an episode of Family Guy is not appropriate here. If we see a curse word, you will be warned. If you post something and the filters do not filter it, edit it before anyone sees. Also don't try to bypass the filter, eg: $h1t or @$$ it's not clever, the filters are there to keep such language away from younger peoples minds, and "they heard it all before" is not an excuse. 5. Do not Flame: Although disagreement is inevitable, there is no need for it to escalate into a childish 'fight'. Apart from the fact that it would be off-topic anyway, there is to be no name-calling or arguing on forum topics. Treat other users with respect, like you yourself would like to be treated. Those who do not follow this, will be warned. 6. Do not advertise your website or forum: There is no place for that on the boards and we do not want to see it. If you want your site to be advertised here, the correct procedure would be to send a personal message to one of the Admins. Do not whine, beg or spam, as that will only slow down the process. Once we deem your website appropriate (if it doesn't have any explicit content or adverts), we shall add it to the Affiliates on the right of the Welcome box. We will expect any websites we are affiliated to, to link back to us also. If we visit and affiliate site, and find there is no link back to us, we will remove the website from our affiliates. Outside linking within a signature is allowed. Accounts 1. Username: You may not create a username that is in any way obscene or explicit. When you will be found, the account will be banned. 2. Only one account permitted per person: When we find out that you have created multiple accounts, they will all be banned. If you have a problem with your first account, contact the Admins. Signatures and Avatars 1. Stealing: Please do not take another person's Avatar or Signature without permission. Though it may be flattering, it's likely they have spent a fair amount of time on them, and do not want their work stolen. Either make your own, download one from our database, or simply don't use one, they are not required. 2. Size: Since images (used for signatures) are updated to the site's database, they can take a lot of space. Please do not make your signature image massive, if you do, you will be asked to save it in another format (either .gif or .jpg) If you fail to do this, we shall have to remove it. 3. Content: In accordance to the previous rules, do not include any obscene or explicit image in your Signature or Avatar. If you do, you will be warned, have the image removed or might even be banned. Privacy 1. Personal Information: Please note, you are using a public site, and anyone may access information which you choose to publish on it. We ask that you do not give away any personal contact details (birth date and email are required by the site for registration purposes only). We are aware that your user profile contains some personal fields, but you may fill that information at your discretion. Use common sense, and be safe! 2. Questions: We will never ask you for your personal information. If someone does so, ignore it and report it to the Admins. Members should not ask for this information either. Your email address is kept private from other members unless you wish to disclose it. 3. Other members: We are not going to disclose any information about our members to others. Please do not ask to know why someone was banned or stripped of powers. If you do, your post will be closed. Any administerial activity is performed at the discretion of the Admins and Moderators, and we do not need to give you reasons for it. We have the right to change these rules without warning.
