Mack stumbled and fell over a stone on his way back to the Morgan Le Fay. The welcome site was only a few dozen feet away, but now Mack was on the ground, covered in dirt and dust, blood seeping from his chest.

The three stags came on behind him, charging their way through rubble, breathing heavily through their nostrils. Mack did his best to crawl away but he was weakening and his boots slid in the lose dirt. Two of his men jumped in the stags path, firing their springfields. The rifle rounds did minimal damage to the huge demon monsters and the two men were promptly crushed under foot, their broken bodies kicked aside.

Mack drew his sig and fired, aiming for the eyes of the lead stag. the shots either missed or hit it in the head and neck area. To no avail though, the small caliber bullets wouldn't even bruise the monsters.

He tried to summon some of his more powerful magics but there was no time. He wouldn't be able to channel enough energy to stop a stag at full charge in time.

He closed his eyes and waited for the end, knowing that this time it would finally be the real end.

A loud noise sounded and one of the stags grunted. Mack opened his eyes to see that the lead stag had fallen over an something was on top of it. The stag and whatever was attacking it were struggling and looked nearly even matched, even thought it's attacker was a fraction of the stags size.

The other stags turned to face this new threat, hesitating. Deciding wether or not they should go after the new attacker or finish off Mack. Mack didn't wait to find out what they chose. He began channeling more energy into himself and then let it out through his hands in the form of a stream of fire. The flame thrower spewed from his hands and struck one of the stags square in the chest.

The lead stag rolled over onto the ground and breathed his last, his normally red skin turned a sickly shade of pink and his skin tight over his bone structure. The third stag looked for the threat that had killed the leader but to no avail. The third stag was struck from behind by the same being and was soon rolling around on the ground trying to shake it lose.

Macks stag was still alive and struggling against the fire. The smell of burt demon skin filled the air and strips of flesh pealed off the stags chest. Finally it could go on no longer and fell over backwards, it's chest still burning from the magical flame, it's insides open to the fire.

Mack laid back down, relieved and tired. He'd live to fight another day. Blood continued to pump out of his chest and he felt cold. His eyes closed and they didn't open again.

Mack woke up on the Morgan Le Fay his eyes opening slowly as he grew accustom to the low level of light within the small airship. Right away he could tell they weren't flying, which didn't surprise him since he was really the only one who knew how to fly it.

over him a dark figure loomed. Mack couldn't lift a finger to fight the figure off if he wanted to. He was weak from loss of blood and he was beginning to feel a strange burning through his veins.

"I wanted to save you." A voice said. It was faint in Macks ears but he figured that was just because he wasn't fully awake yet.

"I'm sorry this was my only option. you lost a lot of blood." The dark figure said.

Mack wet his lips with his tung and rasped the question "why sorry?"

"Because once you realize what i had to do to save you, you might not want to have survived. But with the world in this state, evil winning, Hell merging with the planet earth. We need everyone we can get. I'm sorry about your men too, i was unable to save them." The figure explained.

Mack sensed rather then saw the movement of the figure standing up and turning to leave. Mack summoned the energy to raise his voice and found it difficult. "Who?"

The dark figure paused and turned around. "My name is Emit. Emit Von Brawn. It was a pleasure to finally meet you Dr. Deus. I'm disappointed we couldn't talk for very long, and again, i'm sorry for doing this to you."

Emit turned back around and walked out of the airship, closing the ships door before walking away and not turning back. Mack, puzzled over these events and too weak to think strait closed his eyes again and let sleep take him.

Mack woke up a few hours later. He stood up and held himself up against the wall. He let himself wake up a little bit before he walked himself up to the cockpit. Sitting down on the control throne, he placed a hand on the ships flight control crystal. His mind instantly connected with the ship and he willed the ship to lift off the ground.

The ship obeyed, going against the laws of gravity and slowly came to a hover over the ground. Mack put his other hand over the ships sensory control crystal and instantly he was aware of whatever was around the ship. He could look around as if he weren't enchased in a metal tube. The area seemed clear, so Mack took his hand off the sensory control crystal and started flipping switches. The onboard electronics powered up and soon Mack was off.

He deployed the Morgan Le Fay's engine nacelles which extended out form the cylindrical fuselage. The crystal powered magical engines glowed faintly and then increased in brightness suddenly. The ship lurched forward and the ship was off and gone, skimming over the planets surface at 200 miles an hour.

<Exit Mack>
