Drake sat in the chair in the living room of the mansion, he was drinking a beer. Maria sat across from him "So..." She started to say Drake put his beer down "What is it?" he asked her Maria laughed some and leaned her head back. "You transformed...into a" she said "Demon" Drake replied to her "I was demon" she nodded and grabbed his beer off the table and drank it. She laughed some and stood up. "I'm gonna go get changed we all still smell like war" she said walking away leaving the empty bottle on the table. Drake looked down at it and grumbled. Alastor: You know, she's only human. Even with those enhancements, she will not live as long as you. Your relationship is "Shut up" Drake said to Alastor "You are supposed to train me not give me love advice, or for that matter life advice" Drake said to him. Alastor shrugged about this. Alastor: Hey life advice can be part of training you know...anyway get some rest we'll start your training in a bit ___ Anthony sat outside near the pool, Adrian was working on some new weapon. Adrian: So, got your ass kicked? "Shut up" Anthony said to Adrian he grumbled and threw a rock. Adrian laughed some at Anthony's attitude. Adrian: You should get one of your girlfriends to cheer you up. The demon or the angel "Again...shut up" Anthony told him standing up, he cracked his neck and walked back into the house. Adrian laughed again and went back to working on his new weapon. Anthony walked into the living room where he saw Uriel and Fury. Uriel: So, you are telling me that you can get us to Samael's stronghold. Fury: Of course I can...doesn't require much for me to do it... Anthony sat down and looked over to Drake nodding at him. "So, feel like we won that one?" Anthony asked him, Drake shook his head no "Neither do I" Anthony replied leaning back against his chair. Uriel: Well since you two are so down in the dumps, how about a mission to brighten your day... Both Drake and Anthony looked over to Uriel when she said that. ___ Maria looked in the mirror and sighed "Only human" She said about herself before grabbing a pair of scissors and starting to cut her hair. Sareena: The hell you doing? Maria looked back at Sareena and laughed some "Trying something new, want to help?" She asked her Sareena shrugged and took the scissors and started cutting Maria's hair. |

Tren woke up trying to remember why he had decided to take a nap in the middle of the day. He sat up on the bench by the pool, light reflecting off the calm water, and he grunted. "That's why I took a nap..." said Tren face looking uncomfortable for a moment as he readjusted to his aching body. The truth was it didn't hurt nearly as bad as it had before, his healing factor could often take its time. Mortal wounds healed quickly bit minor ones? Yeah there wasn't any getting around them, otherwise he felt like his headaches around large aura's wouldn't exist. He scanned the mansion's outside for a second and didn't see any.... 'new holes' in the building so there had been no demon attacks while he had taken a nap. That was a bonus, though he found his mind wandering from Demons back to the power Drake, Rin, and the Primes had been displaying. Definitely a whole another level. A slight grin crept across his face, as he realized he was probably the only one in his family line of Pendragon to actually cut off the tail of a.... well dragon. "I guess I earned my right to be called a Pendragon," said Tren finally standing up and walking inside.] He entered to what looked like a depressed and equally more depressed duo of Drake and Anthony. Those two didn't seem to be happy unless they were taking action. Fate seemed to take it's Que as Fury and Uriel seemed to have cooked something up again. "Hellguard mission or you just trying to keep these two busy?" asked Tren joining the conversation. "I'm just about healed up myself from that tailspin Ba'al managed to throw my way. That was incredibly rude of him by the way.... I was about to say something about a cat having his tail but you know how that goes in a fight. Comebacks are always 20/20 hindsight." Rin watched Anthony stalk away before curiously stalking over behind Adrian/Pennywise to inspect what he was doing. "What are you working on here? Another explosive?" asked Rin remembering that he had a particular fondness when it came to blowing things up. She had recently been thinking about her proximity to demonic energy having set off her aggression. She had always thought it was Muramasa's curse that had thrown her headlong into battle, now she wasn't quite sure. "Anthony's taking the battle pretty hard isn't he? I think we did fine in the end all things considered. No one died, and we managed to get Ba'al to retreat," said Rin crossing her arms and looking towards the main room where Anthony had gone. "Sometimes it's easier to redirect a river than stop a river." Rin turned as Yang walked forth from the shadows wiping his mouth of some red. He smiled warmly for a second before going to his more stoic face, and walked over to Adrian. "The resistance says there's something happening up in North America," said Yang holding out a cellphone. "They are asking for Pennywise." |

Rhode collapsed into a bed at the mansion. The softness of the sheets contrasted deeply with the pain in his body. “Tell me you know how to tan leather.” Of course I know how to tan leather. Baal’s hide will be difficult to work with. It is tough all on its own. It may take many months to fully cure. Rhode groaned. “Months? Many? Tell me you know a faster way?” “I might.” Ambriel said, standing i the shadow of the corner. Rhode rolled off the bed and hit his head on the ground. “Holy shit where did you come from!” “Heaven.” Ambriel answered. The angel knelt down next to Rhode and touched his hand to Rhode’s head. Rhode felt a searing hot pain in his head and then nothing. He opened his eyes and he found himself standing on a perfectly flat mirrored surface. Above him were stars in constellations he’d never seen before and clouds of gas swirled around them. “Don’t tell me. Heaven?” Rhode asked. “No, this isn’t heaven or earth. It’s some space in between. Azethlor is busy at work right now, doing what he can to keep your psyche from snapping. It’s one of thew few chances we’ll have to speak alone.” Rhode shrugged. “Why?” “Because The Nine want to know what your answers are, unbiased by anything Azethlor might say.” “So do I get to meet this Nine you keep talking about?” Rhode asked. Ambriel sighed. “Unfortunately not. If you were to witness them without some sort of intermediary whatever part of you thats still human after bonding with Azethlor would be twisted beyond recognition.” Rhode grunted. “Uh huh. So who are these Nine?” “The Seraphim.” Ambriel answered. “The first and most powerful of the Angels. Possibly the most powerful beings in all of creation with maybe one or two exceptions. They left the Golden City back when even Azethlor was among our fold to explore and study the mortal universe in order to perhaps discover it’s purpose.” Rhode shook his head. “Yeah, I figured all you angels had some sort of daddy issues. Your papa’s ran out and left the older brothers in charge.” Ambriel’s face flashed in anger. “Watch your tongue. They may have left the Golden City but they are still our brothers. They are the oldest and most respected of us all.” Rhode held up his hands. “Ok, ok. So what do they want with me?” Ambriel calmed down and returned to his business like demeanor. “You and few other mortals have caught their interest. According to what they tell me, the mortal plane is more important than anyone has ever expected and it is imperative that neither the legions of hell or the heavenly host gain control of it. The old Hellguard failed. The Angels tried to maintain to much control and the easily corruptible human soul lead to it’s failure from the inside. This new Hellguard seems to be shaping up with even more angelic influence along with members who openly flaunt their demonic taint. For the mortal plane to truly be secure, the mortals must stand on their own two feet.” Rhode shrugged, barely understanding him. “So what? You’re bosses like me because i can mill a gun.” “With Azethlor’s help, granted, but you’ve taken both angelic and demonic knowledge and combined them in a way neither angel nor demon would have thought. Its not the magics that are of concern, it’s the ingenuity. You’ve proven it in other ways too. Using those wards in conjecture with your vehicle and your weapon. Using angelic magic to create never run dry gas tanks and so on and so forth.” “The Seraphim like practicality is what your saying.” Rhode summed up. Ambriel sighed again. “To put it bluntly. The Nine wish to cultivate this development of mortal magic in order to ensure the Mortals have the tools they need to keep their realm safe from both the demons and the angels. To that end, they wanted me to introduce you to him.” Ambriel said, pointing. Rhode looked over his shoulder to where Ambriel pointed and saw the largest bearded man he’d ever seen in his life. Standing at least 8 feet tall and almost 4 feet wide at the shoulders and holding a hammer the size of a basketball. “This is Ulthr. He is a builder.” “A Builder? You in construction? You build anything i might have heard of?” Rhode said, hiding his mounting fear behind a mask of ever mounting sarcasm. Ulthr nodded. “You ever hear of Saturn? That was one of mine. Rings were tricky but once you get dem spinnin gravity sorta takes care of da rest. I partnered with a few others on Jupiter. To many cooks in the kitchen and you get that many moons because nobody can make up their freakin minds.” The giant man said in a flawless Brooklyn accent. He shrugged, a gesture which in itself felt immensely powerful when he performed it. “Smaller scale, did some work on Krakatoa. Was pissed when that went up.” Rhode swallowed. “So you build…” Ulthr nodded. “Universes. We built the Golden City, we built some parts of Hell but that place is mostly just chaos. And more recently we built the Mortal Plane.” Rhode swallowed again. “So your… God?” Ulthr laughed. “Naw man. We’re just contractors. We build the space. Somebody else commissioned it.” Rhode decided to drop that particular thread. He thought that if he asked to many questions along that line they’d either clam up or Rhode would learn something he had no business knowing and wished he never ever learned. “So what do the Nine want you to do for me?” Ulthr held up his hand. In it, Starshatter was nestled in his palm. Rhode’s hand shot to his holster to verify that the weapon was missing. “hey, thats mine.” “Relax little mortal.” The builder said. Ulthr closed his fist tight around his hammer and smashed it into Starshatter within his other hand. There was an earth shattering clang and a flash of a spark that hurt Rhode’s eyes. Ulthr held his hand out, presenting Starshatter to Rhode. Rhode cautiously reached out and took the weapon. He didn’t feel anything different about it. It didn’t change shape or look or weight. He rolled the weapon around in his hand. “What did you do.” Ulthr grunted. “Fixed it.” He answered. “Angelic and even Demonic metals when forged are inherently perfect. When you broke them down and reforged them you introduced imperfections. There were cracks and fissures in the metal. there are no longer.” Rhode holstered the gun. “What does that do?” “Channels the magics more easily.” Ambriel said. “The energy will travel more efficiently.” He finished holding out a scroll. “This is a detailed process for how to perfect your forging technique for the bullets so they will similarly be perfected. This will be the last assistance you get from an Angelic source regarding this weapon. Use it wisely and keep on the lookout for more mortal magic you can use to enhance it. More importantly, record everything you learn. If the mortals are going to make use of this information, it must be recorded so that it may be passed on.” Rhode took the scroll and nodded. “Ok Mr. Angel. I will. Ulthr, thanks for the upgrade.” “Forgeddaboudit” Ulthr said, waving. Ambriel smiled. “Azethlor is becoming very strained. It’s time for you to go back.” “Can we do something that isn’t…” Ambriel touched his forehead and suddenly Rhode was back in the bedroom at the mansion, hovering 3 feet off the floor adjacent to the bed. He fell the three feet and clambered to the floor. Scooby hissed in surprise and Rhode rolled over onto his back. “… so jarring. I hate Angels.” Rhode sat up and immediately noticed that all of his pain was gone. He looked down at his hands and arms and saw no scrapes or bruises. His chest felt ok and his ears weren’t ringing anymore. His muscles were relaxed. He pulled Starshatter out of it’s holster and looked at it. “Az?” Yes Marion? “Hope your not too tired. You catch all of that?” Most of it, yes i believe i did. Keeping you and by extension us together was very taxing in that place. “Good. Warm up those brain cells. We’re heading down to the workshop to take a look at this gun.” Rhode held up the scroll in his other hand and got up. “And i’mma need you translate something for me.” |

Adrian looked over at Rin when she said that they should feel good about their victory. Adiran: Anything short of killing Baal wouldn't be enough for Anthony He laughed some finishing up the new weapon he was working on. He held up the weapon it was a knife not a bomb. He smirked and flipped the switch on it electrifying the blade. Adrian: Just a little toy for when I need to fight. But yeah, Anthony fights to win, I bet he feels like Baal let you guys off. If the fight had continued you guys would have died, and that just isn't good enough for someone like him. He went back to working on another knife. Adrian: He may act like a goof, but nothing scares Anthony more than losing people... He looked up at Yang when he mentioned the north was looking for Pennywise. Adrian: Thanks, I'll contact them... He pulled out his computer and started. ___ Uriel looked over to Tren when he asked if this would be a Hell Guard mission. Uriel: Umm yes and no, I mean I did get the information from Metatron. Looks like they need some help in the north, things have taken a turn for the worse up there. Drake and Anthony stood up going over to Uriel and Fury. Uriel handed Anthony a map "Whats going on up there?" he asked her. Fury: Well from the looks of it your buddy Ammon or rather Mammon, Demon of Greed has taken over. "Mammon" he said thinking back to when he spoke to him in Titan's office. "I let him go..." Drake said to them. Fury nodded. Fury: Then this is squarely your fault, glad I could pin it on someone, anyway the AGUG has for the most part been destroyed, we have no idea how but Mammon has rampt up the demon enhancements on the Guild members. "How strong are they now?" Anthony asked handing the map back to Uriel, Uriel sighed heavily. Uriel: Strong enough to give Metatron and his team a run for his money. We're guessing slightly weaker than the horsemen. Anyway you're gonna go help them. Drake sighed scratching his head about this "This mission is gonna be dangerous, all of us aren't going right?" he asked them. Uriel smiled at Drake. Uriel: Worried about Maria and Sareena. Don't let what Alastor said get to you, she's plenty capable of keeping up with you guys. But no everyone isn't going, just us. Anthony laughed some going back over to the couch. "Yeah Maria won't be happy about this" he said sitting down and kicking his legs up. "Happy about what" Maria said coming down stairs with Sareena her hair now slightly above her shoulders. "Oh this mission" Drake said to her "Your hair looks nice" he said to her, she smirked "Glad you like it, now whats our mission?" He said to him. Fury: You're not going girly...this time you and Sareena are hanging with me Sareena: What? Maria crossed her arms "Yeah what Sareena said" Fury: I need your skills, you two are a lot more stealthy than either of these two, so I need you to help me steal a weapon from Europe. We have to be in and out really quick... Sareena: Sounds fun "Sure, but I don't like the idea of splitting up Drake" Maria said turning to him, Drake put his hand on her shoulder "It'll be fine" he said to her "But I don't trust Fury" Maria said to him, Fury laughed. Fury: I don't expect you to, that's why we're taking him with us She pointed at Tren. |

Tren uncrossed his arms from their folded position. He had thought he had been lumped into the non-stealthy group which was a fairly accurate assumption based of his recent bouts but he had originally been small ops, some requiring stealth. Others requiring an even head. Unfortunately even headed is exactly what Tren was not when it came to Horsemen. "I'll go, but not because you asked," said Tren nodding to Sareena, then looking over to Uriel. "Check in on the hacker Spidey for me. Still owe him one from before." He then turned his attention back to Fury. Yes that word described his feelings towards her adequately enough. This was hardly the time and place for any confrontation however, and she wasn't the horseman responsible for the deaths of his squad. He'd see Death again one day, and maybe with luck they wouldn't be on talking terms. "This weapon that you want to steal, what is it? I mean we've got all kinds of swords running around here already. What makes this one so special?" asked Tren hoping it didn't involve a world ending weapon, but with the way things had been escalating as of late he figured the guess probably wouldn't be that far off. Rin frowned and nodded. Anthony seemed to be the sort of person to hold everything on their shoulders, and despite no complaints the cracks were starting to show. "He's afraid of loosing then.... I was for awhile too but I think I got over that fear the moment I let Yahiko take my Muramasa. It surprises me how much demonic energy wasn't Muramasa but my own instead. I would have never known if I hadn't been seperated," said Rin turning towards a wall where she had propped her bow up against. She picked it up and put it over her shoulder before walking back to Adrian's knife. "I'm not sure how well Japanese wards work with your technology but you should try this..." Rin drew out a "Lightning" rune and left it on the table for Adrian to ponder over. She wasn't sure it would make it any better but she suspected her Wards from the past hadn't been passed down to future generations and made it to this time. Perhaps it was a forgotten sort of magic to them. "See you around, Adrian." Rin walked into the main room where there seemed to be something going on. She quietly remained on the outside of the room leaning against the outside wall for support. What were they planning next? |

Fury crossed her arms when Tren said he would go but not cause she asked. Fury: I don't believe I asked, but keep telling yourself otherwise, as for what the weapon is. Its a god killer, that's all you need to know for now. She started to pack up her stuff and walked out the house going to stand with Alastor. Sareena looked at Tren and smirked some stretching. Sareena: Well atleast this trip shouldn't be all bad right? She looked over at Maria who still had a worried look on her face. Drake looked at Maria and smirked at her "Don't look like that" he said to her, she looked away "We haven't exactly ever been separated on a mission before you know" She said to him. "Of course I'm going to look like this, I don't like it" She said to Drake. "I know you don't but don't worry things will be fine" he told her putting his hand on her shoulder. She sighed looking back at Drake "Promise?" She questioned him, he nodded to her. "Fine I'll hold you to that Drake, don't do anything stupid while you're out there" she said "Wait, almost forgot who I was talking to" she said to him laughing. Uriel walked over to the two of them. Uriel: Don't worry Maria, I'll be watching his and Anthony's back. "When do we leave?" Anthony asked from the couch, he was now stretched out across it. Uriel looked over to him Uriel: Tonight, we can sneak in via a back portal, shouldn't be too hard according to Fury "Can't believe you all just trust her" Maria exclaimed still confused about them putting their trust in Fury now. "Don't trust her" Drake said "She just needs us now, so she has no reason to betray us" Drake told her. Uriel: Exactly. Rin, Fury told me one of the swords is in Europe, if you want you can go with them to find it, or you can come with us. Up to you. |

Rhode rubbed his eyes and scrawled down the last of what Azethlor translated. “Is that it?” Yes. Thats the last of the scroll. There is a notation that seems to suggest this is one of a series of scrolls written. Rhode closed the notebook and stuffed the pen into the binding. “So that scroll, together with the wards Rin taught me and we have a pretty good start. Later we’ll write down those spells you taught me, like the endless fuel tank one. That’ll be something to pass along.” You are not the first human to wield the magics of heaven and hell. Surely others have left behind information. Rhode nodded his head. “So we compile what we can. Where’s a good place to start looking?” Europe. While I was trapped in the pit, I heard that many mortals of the old world summoned or called upon demons. They learned a great many things from the demons. New world preachers learned of similar magic but they communed with creatures more than actual demons. pagan magic of the natives and such. They communed with spirits like the one of lake we encountered. “All of that will be useful. How are the bullets?” Rhode said stuffing the notebook into his carryall. They should be cool now. The spell has subsided. You should be careful, you are not a practitioner. Your powers are weak. Using magic like you have will weaken you. Mortal souls aren’t meant for such things. “My soul wasn’t meant for a lot of what has happened to it.” Rhode scooted his computer chair down the long table in the armory and stopped when he came to the reload station. He’d grabbed a Angelic sword and a Demonic battle-ax from the armory’s supply and using Azethlor’s magic melted them down and combined them. The Starshatter bullets were cool enough to handle now so he pried them out of their molds and started loading them into brass. The loads in the rounds were actually more powerful than normal since the gun itself was practically indestructible, a few extra grains wouldn’t damage anything. “Any though to gun upgrades?” Instead of using that chunk of Ba’al you have upstairs for leather, i suggest using one of the larger bones in it for the handle. Combining some of Baals physical essence with the weapon may make it more effective on him and his ilk. Rhode thought about it and then pulled his notebook out and jotted the idea down. He didn’t trust any angle any more than any demon, but Ambriel had said something that struck a cord. If mortals were to survive they needed to write shit down and pass the knowledge on. Rhode had been writing since the night before and hadn’t slept at all. Rhode arrayed all the weapons he had left on the table in front of him. Not much was left of his personal arsenal. There was Starshatter of course, which he had paired with a few quick loaders he’d found in the armory. A bunch of ammunition for various firearms and the short sword he’d kept on his leg. Everything else had been damaged, destroyed or left behind after the fight with Baal. He had more weapons on the boat and in his car of course but practically nothing of the weapons he brought came back. He sheathed the sword back onto his leg and holstered Starshatter which he now kept on his hip. “Lets go upstairs and find out whats happening.” Rhode piled all his new rounds and ammunition into his carryall and headed upstairs. The others were talking about going on various missions. Rhode didn’t have a healing factor or enhancements like the others did so he had no interest in going, especially since he’d been up all night. “Good luck everyone. Any chance I can get one of you portal makers to beam me to Chicago before you head out? Specifically somewhere near the docks if possible. There’s some research i’d like to do and I can help the people out up there deal with the street level demons while you supermen… and superwomen… go after whoever’s in charge.” Rhode thought for second before turning to Rin. “Hey, Rin, before we all part ways for the time being, is there a ward that can keep Angels out like the one you put on my boat that keeps the demons out?” |

Rin looked to Rhode aghast at what he asked before nodding. "There is... but it would be a great offense to use them. I was taught them so I would never accidentally use them if I came across them in an unknown tome," said Rin taking a small paper and drawing the symbol. She folded it and handed it to Rhode careful to keep it away from Uriel. "Careful where you show that." She then looked over to Uriel and looked between the two groups. "I'll go with them, Yahiko mentioned something earlier about Europe containing one of the blades. He might have already found it, or this could be another one," said Rin brow furrowing for a moment. "Keep Anthony safe." "And I quote, 'That's why we are taking him with us,'" said Tren sarcastically before shrugging Fury off. They were going to be working together so quibs wasn't going to help get this done any faster. He looked to Sareena who was stretching and probably said the worst thing she could have said. "All bad huh? I don't suppose you've ever been called a Jinx before have you?" He chuckled for a moment before smirking. "I wonder what part of Europe we'll be visiting. I might get to visit some of my ancestor's grave stones," said Tren suddenly excited to be going. That old man also said to see him out in time to learn how to truly wield Excalibur... what did he mean? Did Excalibur have a different form or something? Was it like Pokemon and if he killed enough Demons it would Evolve into Ex-Excalibur? No I'm over thinking it, probably just an old guy that was really into Arthur legends. He was really strong though... Tren shook his head, he would just have to find out later. "I'll keep an eye on Fury, whatever this god killer blade it can't spell great news for it to be in the hands of the Horsemen," said Tren lowering his voice. He crossed his arms and leaned against the counter looking across the room at everyone here. How had he become a part of this? Each person was weirder than the next, and that was counting him into this equation. He found that it felt good to belong to something like this.... like an awkward family of misfits. "Well how about we get this show on the road, not every day I get to step half the world in one bound." |

Anthony yawned as he stood up from the couch and walked over to the group. He looked at Rin then at Uriel then back to Rin "I can take care of myself you know" he said to her smirking. Uriel laughed putting her hand on Rin's shoulder. Uriel: I'll make sure he stays safe "Hey did you not hear what I said?" he asked her. Uriel turned to him and sighed heavily. "I'll be fine, I'm not gonna do anything stupid" Anthony said trying to reassure Rin. He walked over to the table and picked his dagger and revolver up off of it and put them in his jacket. He cracked his neck. Maria smiled at Drake holding his hand "When we get this stupid god killer sword I'll have Fury bring me and Sareena to you and Anthony" She told him "What makes you think we won't finish our mission first?" Drake asked her, Maria laughed "Well first of all its you two, but if you wanna race" she suggested. Sareena laughed Sareena: Just like old times? You boys could never keep up with us Drake "Oh you wanna bet?" Anthony said from across the room. "Fine losers umm we would normally have losers buy drinks" Maria said scratching her head. "Losers have to clean winners weapons for the next year" Drake said. "I like it" Maria smirked holding out her hand, Drake shook it sealing the deal. "Now before you leave, kiss" Maria said pulling Drake down to her kissing him on the lips. Adrian walked over to the group. Adrian: You guys ready? "You're not going" Anthony said to his friend with a worried look. Adrian: I am, you'll need someone to hack the Guild systems, be sides all of those AGUG are my friends, my family. I'm gonna go help them. "Fine...fine I won't argue with you...can we go now" Anthony asked Uriel. She nodded and knocked on the window motioning for Alastor and Fury to come back in which they did. Uriel: Fury if you would be so kind, a portal to Chicago for Rhode here, and a portal to Titan City for us. Fury: Chicago, does he have a death wish? I won't try to stop you though mortal...just remember I warned you She swung her hand creating the two portals. Uriel and Adrian went through one Anthony walked over to it "You girls be careful okay, also don't be pissed when we win the bet" He said to Maria and Sareena. Sareena laughed flipping him off as he went through the portal. Drake looked back at Maria "See you soon" he said to her. She nodded as he disappeared through the portal. Sareena: You okay? Maria turned to Sareena "I'm fine, ready to start this mission..." She said to the group in the room. Alastor: He'll be fine Maria, Fury...portal us to Europe? Fury: Thought you'd never ask She tore open another portal for everyone to go through then went in followed by Alastor Maria and Sareena. |
