VSIC:

Another day...

So was the thought of a young Staff Sergeant who sat atop a Bào zi tank overlooking the out-streched prairies of the northern Federation lands: He had grown up no more than a hundred miles away from this location, so he could not help but feel at home. He was a member of the minority Hui Avatarians; who originally became integrated into the Avatarian races in the beginning of the 4th Century, so he and his platoon were often left out of larger operations, considering the language barrier. However, this time, he was going to be retaking his ancestor's homelands...

And his tongue was more valuable than his gun...

Sergeant Ma, the Major is requesting you, spoke a voice from behind the young man as he dismounted his tank and made his way to the Commander's Tent.

Across the mass gathering of troops, three men sat on top of an ASLAV playing a game of Paisho on the spare tire. The sounds of them laughing and chatting made the whole area seem almost calming...It was hard to forget what these men where here to do.

"There you go, boys!" shouted the Lieutenant of the group as he placed the White Lotus piece in the middle of the board. "That is the way you Paisho! he continued to reel on, laughing the whole way.

"No one uses the White Lotus, Piandao," whined the corporal who had just lost his paycheck, "Why use such a low piece?

"Well, the White Lotus can take any piece on the board, which is an immense strength. However, it can also be taken by any other piece...You know? I learned this strategy during the Seige of Ba Sing Se from General Iroh."

The other two men were silent as Piandao spoke so proudly of his participation in the retaking of a rebellious province: The "seige" lasted more than 600 days, and resulted in not only the continued reunification of the Federation after the Avatarian-Westerian Civil War, but the continued fortification of the Avatar's role as the Federation's true leader.

"You know General Iroh?" spoke the third man, a Private, who was obviously impressed by the fact that his CO knew one of the Four Masters.

"In a way," softly spoke the Lieutenant as he quickly grabbed his White Lotus Tile.

"Excuse me," interupted a deep voice.

And they knew it was getting closer
