VVVVVVVVVSIC With the plethora of cheap Palixian jewels, several gem and stone traders across the Republic have had second doubts about the reliability of Aksoemite diamonds. Lifetime Diamonds, Inc., one of the largest and lucrative gemstone dealers in the Republic(owning more than 60% of the Republic's jewelry industry), desires to renegotiate terms with the Aksoemite diamond mines. A message was sent to the nation.

(OOC: Aksoems Diamond Mines are left relatively untapped by the Goverment, I was gonna have a write up regarding the political situation on Aksoems other border, but since nobody lives down there yet, I don't wanna make plans without their consent, sufficed to say there are veritable daisies up North, all that needs to be considered is that South Central Aksoem is barely under the control of the Administration, it's more of a "We turn a blind eye, cos what you do without us seeing keeps eveyone down south from invading us." so I'll have your message passed on to Dakarai.) The letter had been passed on to Dakarais personal villa outside of Katlego, he knew he had to make the best of his perks, one day he could end up a scapegoat of Aksoem, say if they wanted a hundred percent of the diamond profits, the Palixian Diamond discovery had blown a huge chunk from this venture, and he knew he needed a way out, there wern't many companies in the West who would take his diamonds now that an ethical way for mining them had been found, and the letter from The Lateral Republic was as such a godsend.

The plane landed safely in Aksoem. The people left the plane in glee, eclipsed by "diamond fever" and eager to contact the last two men to leave the craft. They exited, confident in their work. "See?" Haytham Rahim said to his colleague, "That is why you sit in coach. You mingle with the customer. Look, we now have dozens of clients, after only a few hours." His colleague, novice Harshal Shankar, merely clerared his throat. He seemed tired, as compared to his energetic partner. "Let's just meet the main client, shall we?" he spoke in a raspy voice, followed by a dry cough. He reached into his pocket and patted a box of cigarettes in his right palm. Rahim only looked in disgust. He was not a drinker or smoker, and was an avid sportsman. They bussed through the city. Rahim enjoyed the sites and sounds, while Shankar enjoyed his fag. The town seemed tense; perhaps they were afraid of the imminent war with Eyygui. They found Dakarai's villa easily. Its majesty stood out from the rest of the town. The mailbox with the surname "Dakarai" gave away the residence too. Rahim eagerly knocked on the door, and waited for the man to answer. Shankar quickly flicked his cigarette to the floor and stomped on it. He coughed again and waited for Dakarai to answer. |

Daks eyes flickered back, showing only a yellowy white pierced by red rivers, slowly his pupils returned, tossing the silver straw aside, he walked across the room to answer the door, there two arab men stood, "You in Diamonds?" He asked, fingering the black Tec-9 he had stuffed down his trousers, one thing he had learned, not even his Villa was a safe place to hole up. |

"Yes," said Shankar, after clearing his voice. "Are you?" he asked suspiciously. |

Releasing his grip on the Tec-9, he smiled, "Come in, have a seat, you want a line?" He held up a bullet shaped glass case, inside was a shell of white powder, presumably cocaine, expensive cocaine, Dak was not shy of flaunting the money he had made exploiting the Southern Diamond mines. |

"I can't," Rahim began, somewhat irked by Dak's antics, "I've been clean for four months straight." This was a cleverly hidden lie. He may have been the more energetic of the two, but his job had clearly given the man stress, making it seem as if he had done lines before. Shankar answered differently. Careless of what he did to himself, he spoke in an indifferent tone. "I'd much rather have a hit or some blow, if you have any." Shankar had treated his body like an experimental chimney since the 8th grade. |
