To President Siad Ajatogo and Lord Kefilwe Makena, Great neighbors, in this time of tension, turmoil, and crisis in the world; it is best to face the issues alongside absolute allies. All three of our nations have a strong-point. The Lateral Repbulic has many resources and most importantly, millions and millions of citizens. Eyygui is the formost economic powerhouse and technological captial of the region. Sendria posseses the most well trained general military populations among the three of us. We must use each other to our fullest potential. I ask you great men, on behalf of all the people in Eyygui, to come to Darsallam and speak with me on very important issues. We must not remain alone in this world! Hoping to Meet, Sun King Kael'thas of Eyygui |

Makena arrived at Darsallam airport, ready for diplomacy. Already having seen King Charles, he felt he was only beginning his mission for the Lateral Republic. The ocean breeze tingled his nostrils. The wind was faster in this sea; the Republic's lakes usually softened the ocean air. The smell was deliciously salty. He and his caravan journeyed to the meeting place to meet with King Kael'thas. |

(OOC oooo Merlin makes them magically appear in Eyygui *poof* pretend they are here) The Sun King welcomed the two heads of state to the Imperial Palace. His normally arrogant and self-absorbed voice was now humble and welcoming. He brought the men to the Room of Peace, where he had met the Prime Minister from Akseom. "Welcome gentlemen" he said with a smile "do you wish for a glass of wine, soda pop or some water?" "I asked you all to come to Eyygui because we all share a common need. Lord Makena and General Ajatogo, your militaries are among the best trained in the area. The Lateral Republic is blessed with many resources and an abunance of people. Sendria is blessed with a strategic location. Here, while we posses a strong military, it is not the largest. Eyygui has consistently focused on the economy and technology. To make things short, I ask that our three nations engage in a full economic-military-technological sharing alliance." He paused to wait for a response. |

Lord Makena entered the room and graciously hugged the Sun King, politely refusing his handshake. "In my nation, only acquaintences shake hands. Friends and allies embrace each other." At the mention of a drink, Makena asked for water. "Water please, my doctor has asked me to abstain from alcohol for a few months. The liver, you see." After the Sun King finished his small speech, Makena contemplated the idea. Eyygui and the Republic were already friendly towards each other. Additionally, allying with Eyygui economically would bring the Republic closer to bordering the Metern Sea (OOC: That's what I'm calling the sea bordering Sith Republic). This would definately allow exports to enter the Lateral Rpeublic quicker than ever. If only those damn Siths would allow a highway from the Metern Sea to the Republic. Seeing nothing else to consider, Makena beat General Ajatogo to an answer. With a concise breath, Makena said "Done!" and remained silent, with a grin on his face. The short answer would surely catch the SUn King and the General off-guard. |

"Sendria is far from an economic and technological powerhouse, this is no secret. The reason you invited me here was for my nation's military strength and effectiveness. So I ask, what do you need Sendria's military for?" |

The Sun King smiled at Lord Makena, he had already expected him to be straight forward. They were after-all practially brother nations. The Lateral Republic truely was Eyygui's greatest allies. "A very wise question General" Kael'thas smiled almost evily "you see both of us have a common tension. Akseom and Eyygui have not had a kind history. However their nation's sheer size almost makes them unbeatable. Their immense numbers are just enough to overwhelm an army. However with both of us on their border, their forces are more spread out. Should one of us be attacked, instead of being overwhelmed, the other comes to aid from behind. This alliance would act as a simple counter of power against Akseom. Additionally we would share technologies and expand our economic investment in each other. Sendrian forces could train some of our reserve forces to better show our might in the battlefield." "Remind me Kael'thas, what is the general tension between Eyygui and Aksoem over? Land? People? Terrorists?" Makena asked, intrigued by the words of the Sun King to Ajatogo. |

"Aksoem and Sendria have been in and out of conflict with each other for the past hundred or so years, not once has their 'immense numbers' been able to overrun my country. Terlaka Gabez was created for a reason, and up until now it has worked. Sendria and Aksoem have a mutual understanding and both of us know what lines not to cross. Conflicts will happen and continue to happen, look in the part of the world we are located. I wish I didn't have to but there are military commanders in my ranks, and every other country located on this continent's ranks, that do not always do exactly what they are told. They bend their orders for their own personal gains and entertainment. If any nation in this region's leader denies this claim that I have just made, they are ignorant and should be taken from power. Quite often they do. I have to work on the internals of my country. I do not want to have to worry about an ally attacking another and my men being dragged into a war with no purpose, much like many of the wars fought in this part of the world. I can and will handle the current conflict at hand by myself, without the help of any other nation. It has been done many times before and will be done many times again in the future." |

"One day, the balance of power that you believe exists between Akseom and Sendria will break. Akseom has not overrun your forces because there has not be total war as of yet. But tensions rise and rise ans rise and one day, the inevitable will happen. The vicious cycle will end by establishing a clear balance of power. It is foolish to stand alone in these perilous times. Does this mutual understanding stand in stone? Our alliance would shatter that mutual understanding that you are confident with and establish a clear signal to Akseom. Not to mention that by entering this alliance trade between our nations would increase dramatically and Eyyguian technological enterprises would be able to share miltary and infrastructure technology. You have gold in your hands and your nation can benefit from this tremendously, here is a draft of the treaty so that we may have a clear understanding of what is happening." Treaty of Darlassam Article 1: Offically establishes the Triple Alliance, between the signing states, Sendria, The Lateral Republic and Eyygui. -Signing nations are bound to a defensive alliance. Should one nation be attacked, the other two must aid militarily or economically, significant aid is required. -Signing nations are encouraged, but not bound, to aid another nation in any offense action they may take. Article 2: Signing nations will reduce tariffs and other economic barriers preventing tarde and the exchange of goods. Article 3: Signing nations will cooperate in military technological advances and commit to sharing new technologies in the fields of medicine, agriculture and construction. He handed a copy of the treaty to each man and then asked "What do you think?" |

As Ajatogo rambled on about Sendria's pitiful understainding of the Aksoem-Sendrian tension, Makena could only roll his eyes, like a disinterested student in biology class. He could not understand why such a military general with such great girth could complain that his nation was "underdeveloped" and that the Terlaka Gabez was "controlled". Surely the one thing needed to be controlled was his diet. "Your arrogance will costly you dearly in the long run, General. As for I, I wear my heart on my sleeve, and if I see something I need for my great nation, I will take it. I shall sign the treaty. Thank you, Kael'thas, for this wonderful opportunity." Makena signed the treaty dutifully. Lord Kefilwe Makena of The Lateral Republic |

"I have earned many rank in battle many times over. Honor is what carries me, Lord Makena, not arrogance. This may be something great for your nation, but for mine it is not. My men will not die in a war caused by others. My economy can grow in other ways, ways that I do not have to pledge my military. I do not respect the idea of using my military. Good luck with Aksoem, for everyone knows the tension. I hope your soldiers are of the most elite class in this world to defeat such a great nation. But, I forsee the current conflict at hand ending in nothing but blood. I will not be a part of this Triple Alliance. Now I must excuse myself." The General nodded to his two guards as he stood, proceeding out the door of the pointless meeting. |

"What a strange silly man" said the Sun King somewhat laughing. All he could do was to stare out as the foolish man walked away. The Triple Alliance would of ensured peace, he was just too uneducated and pompous to see that. "And that is why Generals should not be in charge of a nation. Well good sir, this meeting was far from pointless. We now know who are allies and enemies are." |

"Indeed," stated Makena, glaring at Ajatogo as he left the room. "The only blood that will be seen is the blood of Sendria, when they are crying for our intervention when Aksoem invades them." Makena suddenly smiled evily. He began thinking, and grazing his left hand along his snow white beard. He then turned to the Sun King. "What say we have a little fun, Kael'thas? Let's put a smile on that General's face." Perhaps the dictatorship was corrupting Makena. Perhaps he was keen on bottling his emotions. Whatever the matter, such a diabolical smile from Makena could not mean anything pleasant. At least, not for anyone outside of the room... Edited by The Lateral Republic, 18th July 2008 - 06:43 PM.
