An Act to re-establish the Solidarity Newspaper and assure it's Freedom of Press and Neutrality

Be it enacted by the Congress of the Democratic Socialist Assembly,

Title. Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the "Independent Information Act", "Independent Information Initiative" or "Solidarity Act".
(2) This Act shall come into force upon approval by the Congress.

Chapter I. Purposes and Criteria
(1) The purposes of this Act are:
(i) Granting the right to every Nation to read unaltered and uncensored news from the region and Nationstates.
(ii) Informing DSA Citizens about elections, events or special occurrences.
(iii) Expanding the Role Playing community and reducing the number of inactive Nations.
(2) No Article written by a Writer may be censored or disapproved, except if it mentions restricted information, or conflicts with a passed legislation, this Act or the Charter.
(3) Special reasons for withholding Articles:
(i) The Writer stopped existing before the Director approved the Article.
(ii) The Writer has left the region.
(iii) The Writer has been classified as a Forbidden Nation [Section 1.2 of the Charter].
(iv) Article contains information that (at the time of writing) were false.

Chapter II. Establishment and Principles
(1)
The Solidarity Regional Newspaper is hereby re-established as the region’s official Newspaper.
(2) The Newspaper team is composed by:
(i) The Director, appointed by the Minister of Role Play, has the duty of reviewing and approving articles and appointing Writers. The Director may be replaced by a motion in the Congress or by a legal case to the Minister of Justice.
(ii) Department Administrator, appointed by the Director, may help the Director by performing his duties in the appointed Department. All articles that mention the Director automatically mentions the D.A.
(iii) The Writer has the duty to write Articles and host interviews and debates.
(3) In exception of debates and editorial comments, no Article may be include personal opinions of the Writer or Director.
(4) Any member of the Newspaper Team may write an editorial comment.

Chapter III. Location and Hosting of the Newspaper
(1)
The Newspaper may be hosted in any site or forum by the Minister of Role Play, Director or Writer.
(2) Every approved Article must be posted in the Regional Newspaper (NationStates.net).

Chapter IV. Miscellaneous
(1)
All previous Solidarity Articles will be archived, but must not be deleted.
(2) Writers may be Freelance, but Freelance Writers are not exempt from any previous principles.
