Wow, the 11th Cabinet! Can you believe it’s here! First of all, I am honored to be serving you as President and WA Delegate, and I’d like to congratulate all of you for being elected to your respective positions! Especially our Secretary General, Lemur Isles, for his very close and hard-fought race against that evil a-word that shall not be named. As always, I am looking for this to be a very productive Cabinet! I see we have some newcomers with us, and to you I say “Welcome, grab some chicken wings and enjoy the comfy chairs!” My top priority by far is reaching new people. Our population has dropped drastically recently due to overall inactivity on NS. We need the automatic telegram system back up and running as soon as possible. I’m going to set a high goal of reaching 350 nations by the end of this term. Another top priority is the possibility of the DSA joining the Coalition of Armed Proletariat States. Discussions should continue on that and a decision should be reached soon. I dropped the ball on that last term, and I apologize. As for your individual duties: Secretary General (SG): 1. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.). 2. Organize an evaluation of the Tenth Cabinet.* (This was not done last term) 3. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD. 2. Try to find new regions to potentially establish embassies with. 3. Monitor ambassadors for potential inactivity.* 4. Work towards a decision on CAPS.* 5. Evaluate The Revolutionary Council (They’ve been in contact with me). 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Justice (MoJ): 1. Audit region for Civil Rights (CR), Political Freedoms (PF), and National Categories (NC) compliance. 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any. 3. Familiarize yourself with the Charter. 4. Basically keep doing what you’re doing. ![]() Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 1. Make sure the auto-telegram system is transferred and working properly.* 2. Review and revise recruitment telegram draft. 3. Keep your eyes peeled for interregional events. 4. Experiment: find out what works and what doesn't. Perhaps a survey could tell us why people chose our region. 5. Work towards our goal of 350 nations. 6. Possibly work on hiring manual mass telegrammers if you think it would help. Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): 1. Come up with new debate ideas. 2. Try to come up with a new contest or game.* 3. Try to update all the information in the NS Wiki. (I am speaking of course of the new NSWiki.org created by Afforess. Contact TSJI for info on how they managed it.) --There should not be too much to change, aside from population and proofreading. 4. Update the DSA Capitol factbook. 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Role Play (MoRP): 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Keep the map current and updated. 3. Encourage new roleplays in the Gymnasia. *These are the things that I personally would like to see done first, they are of the utmost importance |

Greetings, all! It's great to be back in service to the region ![]() I have just performed my audit of the map yesterday and the current map in the WFE is updated with the exception of Russkyi who just C'dTE this morning. That is a puppet of Ibericae; so I will wait a couple days to make sure it isn't brought back from the dead ![]() Here are a few things I was thinking of for my ministry to tackle during this term: 1. Reinvigorate some of the Role Playing ideas in the forum: 1.a: Set up the Central Bank 1.a.1: Develop currency coins and notes 1.a.2: Maintain active list of participants 1.b: Set up The DSA Olympic Games as proposed by TULR 1.c: Keep the already active DSA Football Tournament going 2. Some of my ideas that could be implemented: 2.a: Establish the Regional Assembly of the DSA (RADSA) I'm not sure the best format for it; so I would probably just create a series of subforums for it and go from there. This would be entirely independent of the Cabinet and the Charter since any elections or legislation passed would only pertain to this RP element and its willing participants and not be binding in any way as it relates to the Charter. It would be much like the WA but more socialisty I would like to create a system wherein residents would be able to propose legislation pertaining to all participants that would also be consistent with our regional values. A general council (RAGC) would be established to handle general administrative laws and big picture stuff. A security council (RASC) would be set up to handle the RP wars that break out between nations in the DSA. A trade council (RATC) would be established to handle international and interregional trade agreements (see below).2.b: Establish interregional trade agreements I was thinking this would be a fun way to get activity spurred within the RADSA and between our allies as well. With these we would set up minimum conditions for 'trade' to occur between our allies (as long as they are willing to take part in the RP) dealing with the environment, livable wages, safe working conditions, etc. Nations would also be able to trade 'goods and services' between each other if they so wished. This could be (as in real life) a way to start and resolve conflicts. I have to break for a moment to take care of RL stuff; but I'll add my other ideas later. That bastard! Congratulations everybody on (re)election! xD 1. I'm on it! TSJI did say that he would like to remain admin for a while, to tie some loose ends in the Congress forum. I don't know if he's finished 2. Done. I've put up a link on "current business" at the top of the forum, along with a link to the runoff election, while I was at it. Also, I've added, and played around with the forum themes. Are they working for y'all? Another thing I am eager to do is rearrange the forums so that they are easier to navigate. I made a proposal earlier, that I would like to put forward to the region's approval. |

So as I was saying earlier, I strongly recommend reorganising the forum. At the moment, I feel the arrangement is somewhat cumbersome and haphazard in places. There are also too many tiers of subforums, and just too many in general. The discussion can be found here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/DemocraticSocialist/topic/5311582/1/#new Edited by Lemur Isles, 26 Jun 2014, 01:34.

On Recruitment I was talking on IRC with Grobladonia and Misley today. He was saying they use NS++ recruitment in The International. Here is the link for setting that up: http://www.nationstates.net/page=blank?recruitment=democratic_socialist_assembly Basically, the way it works is that when you're logged in with the tool set up, you're automatically sending out recruitment telegrams. Another handy feature is the list of "recruitment officers", which allows the recruiter to appoint other regional members who use NS++ to automatically recruit when they're logged in as well, which increases our audience. Only the founder or the WA delegate (so, not the MIRP) can set it up though. However, I think it would be foolish to pass it up. I also think that all Cabinet members who use the NS++ extension should be appointed as recruitment officers (it won't add to our workload, at all). Additionally, we should request for volunteer recruitment officers, from our members who use NS++ |

In the current circumstances I don't know when it will become actually possible to execute this recommendation, but it is still my sad duty to recommend the following nations for ejection out of the Democratic Socialist Assembly: Albany Corner Daishama North Antioch Shendelzare The German Weimar Turkmenbashistan The statistical parameters of these nations have violated Charter requirements for Residency, and I properly warned them about the consequences of non-compliance, but unfortunately they failed to correct their nations on their own and ignored my offers of assistance. |

Actually, it says in the Charter that the Secretary General is to manage the Capitol, so TSJI had handed it to me. If you want though I'll give you the password if you want to manage it
