Aside from the deleterious effects on regional governance, having nations declare themselves "party members" would muck with RP in that, in our case for instance, we already have an internal RP party system that would have nothing to do with the regional party system. It doesn't make much sense to me to have nations declare themselves to be members of parties, basically.

This is maybe a separate conversation than what this thread was set up for, but I'm not really envisioning nations joining parties as such.

My idea was more along the lines of roleplaying a regional parliament (like the EU parliament), and we could declare what blocs our representatives are joining. I might say, for example, that say X amount of Social Democratic Party representatives from the Lemur Isles join the 'Socialist Bloc' (or whatever we call it), X amount of National Party representatives join the 'Liberal Alliance', and so on.

I quite like Lemurs' idea, actually.

So something like the EU parliament groups, then. I suppose I could get into that for RP purposes.

If I'm allowed to form a Brechtist-Eislerist Workers United Front, in in favor (the idea has really grown on me).
Getekend, Herrebrugh
