People here vote on issues as their conscience demands and majorities shift in composition accordingly from issue to issue. I don't think we need to change that. Party line votes are neither useful nor necessary around here. In an RL context my opinions on this matter would likely be different.

As has been said earlier against someone else, parties would unnecessarily divide the DSA, where currently the entire DSA forms one united block made up of just about all ideologies of the leftist spectrum.

There's no need to divide ourselves.

For a Revolutionary Socialist Assembly!

Yeah, there's no need for parties.

The only thing it would achieve, would be to confuse the actual political complexion of the region. For instance, it would undoubtedly 'unite' the actual revolutionary socialists in the region with the people who just like 'hammers and sickles' and have a bizarre Russian fetish.

Not to mention, likely creating acrimony between the more liberal, social democratic majority in the DSA, and the 'extremes' to its left and right, whereas currently majorities are fluid and issue-based.

I say we shouldn't ban parties but we should still allow their creation and establisment.

I'm not saying that we should ban them either. I think we just simply don't want them.

I'm thinking of creating a Non-Party Alliance a la the SLU organisation if any parties do pop up though.

I think that political parties may become good addition for the RP, but they shouldn't be allowed to play any role outside of the IC events.

That would be pretty cool alright. Maybe we could have a European Parliament type thing, with different blocs, like a Comintern, and a Socialist International and so on.
