Comrades, old and new: welcome to the newly-elected Tenth Cabinet of the DSA! First off, allow me to extend felicitations to you all on your successful elections! Yay! It was no cakewalk this time. Candidates competed with campaigns and platforms. I think that's a first, but if it isn't, it's gaining a lot more traction now that it's noticeable. So many were qualified, and just as many were attractive candidates, making it tough to decide! No worries, you are While the by-election is being held, take notice of the meeting format. It's divided into two parts - three if you count the discussion. The first is the Agenda, which are the everchanging objectives we hope to achieve. Depending on extenuating circumstances, these objectives can change or be given different priorities. Hopefully, it's because they've been completed. The second, Items for individual ministries, are your regular (if not daily) chores. They are predictable and never end. Take joys in the little accomplishments you make to stave off any boredom. Before you know it, your term will be over, so don't dilly-dally and be left with any regrets. If you feel you need orientation in either of these areas, please contact the previous ministers or myself. The next part is copied and pasted because I'm unoriginal and couldn't think of another way to word it: For all newcomers, the purpose of these meetings is to discuss issues facing the region as a whole and receive status updates from ministers on their duties in the region. I shall ask each of you to regularly (preferably at least once every week or two) update the Cabinet on the status of your ministries and share any concerns. I shall provide each ministry with a small list of items to address, though you need not discuss all of these at once as long as you get to each of them eventually. I officially open the 0th Cabinet Meeting of the 10th Cabinet. Yes, 0th. It's preliminary. ---Agenda--- Familiarize yourselves with your positions and get settled. Preferably in your office in the specific sub-forums. Decorate your desks and organize your file-cabinets. Nothing more for today. Wouldn't want to overload you on your first days. Baby steps. Class dismissed! ---Items for individual ministries--- Secretary General (SG): 1. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.). 2. Organise an evaluation of the Ninth Cabinet. 3. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD. 2. Try to find new regions to potentially establish embassies with. 3. Monitor ambassadors for potential inactivity. 4. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Justice (MoJ): 1. Audit region for Civil Rights (CR), Political Freedoms (PF), and National Categories (NC) compliance. 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any. 3. Familiarize yourself with the Charter. Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 1. Make sure the auto-telegram system is transferred and working properly. 2. Review and revise recruitment telegram draft. 3. Keep your eyes peeled for interregional events. 4. Experiment: find out what works and what doesn't. Perhaps a survey could tell us why people chose our region. Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): 1. Come up with new debate ideas. 2. Try to come up with a new contest or game. 3. Try to update all the information in the NS Wiki. (I am speaking of course of the new NSWiki.org created by Afforess. Contact TSJI for info on how they managed it.) --There should not be too much to change, aside from population and proofreading. 4. Update the DSA Capitol factbook. 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Role Play (MoRP): 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Keep the map current and updated. 3. Encourage new roleplays in the Gymnasia. |

If I'm not mistaken, the form isn't under Riasy's control. If it's Gervase's personal account that is hosting it, then accessing the database will be incredibly problematic for our MoJ. |

Regarding the CAPS, I admit that the idea of the left-wing interregional congress is very interesting, but at the present moment CAPS looks like organization that is created solely for the revolutionary left-wingers. I'm not sure that our region will be able to provide some useful contribution to such organization. Plus, right now it looks like the CAPS may at some point begin to coordinate the anti-fascist raiding, and in that case our membership in it will begin to compromise our formal neutrality in the R/D matters. On the other hand CAPS can become good neutral ground for establishing dialogue with left-wing regions that aren't democratic enough to make it desirable for us to seek direct diplomatic relations with them. My opinion that we should either join CAPS right now and become maximally active there to ensure that our views and political priorities will be taken into account during the formation of its legal system and political priorities, or we shouldn't join it at all.
CIL has nice Constitution (though it is somewhat strange that it doesn't say anything about the role of the Founder), and in the past we had embassy with their community, but I think that it may be good idea to postpone the reestablishment of the embassy with them at least until the time when they will complete the formation of their regional government. It would be nice to know if they have enough active members to function properly.
This is absolutely correct. Due to technical limitations of my computer I can't adequately use Google Docs, so unfortunately it wasn't possible for me to obtain from Comrade Gervase the control over that form. |

Comrade Ratateague, maybe it would be right to ask Comrades Gallifrax and Sarcophilus Harrisii to sacrifice few minutes of their time to review the proposal of Comrade Terlibe? Their votes are needed for deciding this matter. |

I see no problem with Kryftland being allowed in here. Also, in terms of the CAPS, I feel that we should join immediately as it will help boost our influence in the realm of left-wing regions. |

It is my sad duty to recommend the following nations for ejection out of the Democratic Socialist Assembly: Nova Venice Potato and Tuna Quw Saratov United City States of Florida The statistical parameters of these nations have violated Charter requirements for Residency, and I properly warned them about consequences of non-compliance, but unfortunately they failed to correct their nations on their own and ignored my offers of assistance. |

I hope everyone has had a happy and productive May 1st. I know I'm happy with all we have accomplished so far. Yet I'm sure many would agree there is always room for improvement. So let us take this opportunity to reflect on what we've done so far, and suggest some serious goals to be listed on the next cabinet meeting. This less official 10.0 one has gone on long enough. :p |

We'll let me just say that Kryftland has decided that he can no longer assume the position. He has again decided to leave NationStates. This news was sad to hear for me, as I'm sure it is to all of you. Kryftland and I have become friends and I truly hope he returns to NS someday, as he said he might do. |
