I've had this idea for a while now that it would be nice for candidates for the various Cabinet post to also write a brief electoral platform outlining what they would want to do if elected. I think this would give new nations with good ideas a better chance at getting elected. So far elections are won on the basis of popularity, and while this doesn't mean they won't be elected (after all I got elected after just a month in the region) it does leave new nations at something of a disadvantage. Also, it would be nice to know what direction a particular candidate wants to take the region in, regardless of how long that nation has been in the region. |

Certainly in support of this, that's the way I've been elected in the SLU and ULDS ![]() For me, a platform would be a way to let less experienced nations have a shot at actually winning instead of the bigger names winning solely on name recognition. |

I approve of this as well, as this may be the way to both choose the best candidates and perhaps encourage more actions after the elections. Not that there aren't enough, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. |

I believe that your idea would lend a great deal more interest in our regional politics in addition to your stated reasons, I definitely approve. |

In favour. I often have a difficult time voting in DSA elections, because I don't know the difference between the candidates! |

I agree. Best way to keep ministers etc accountable, gives minnows a better chance, and makes for a more interesting election all around. It should start with this current cabinet election. |

Well, this seems to be as popular as I'd expected it to be. ![]() I say we give it a try in one or two elections and if it all looks good we can make it a Charter amendment in order to make it mandatory. |
