Good its still being discussed. I see that the currency already has a name as if you go to the capital city page it says "DSA Credit" or some thing to that effect. I agree that optional agreed on currency would help with role play. HOWEVER different nations are different on economics so they might think about the amount of money differently. Personally I will not have the agreed apon "dsa credit" as my nations currency the "Puppy dog" suits the polotics of my particular nation.
The title of the currency in the regional capitol (DSA Credit) is not the fruit of this recent debate and has been established by the original caretaker of our capitol city-state - me. Something had to be put down and 'DSA Credit' seemed fitting and neutral enough at the time. A definitive title for the actual regional currency still has to be established and I'm sure our capitol will be one of the nations adopting it, when the time comes.

Is there also going to be an exchange rate should a nation chose to use its own currentcy? I think it should be optional not mandatory

I think the wish to have an exchange rate, regardless of participating nations, will mean adopting a construction to determine a nation's economic capacity to create their exchange rate. That such a construction exists, like one of the NS calculators, makes that any nation - whether they choose to participate or not - can be subjected to it. After all, any nation can be entered into an NS calculator and therefore any nation's currency exchange rate against our regional currency can be calculated.

Even though the introduction of conventional currency would become a step backward from the sophisticated system of rationing and direct management of resources that is used in Riasy now, we are ready to modify our centrally planned economy and adopt new regional currency as our main national currency to strengthen the international solidarity and mutual economic integration. :D

And as the name of new currency I would like to see Need. I support Horgr’s conception.

Thank you Riasy, very nice to hear that, I had thought people were being too polite to point out an obvious flaw or something along those lines.

Not much, really. I have being trying to give Corujea a swift kick in the bum and get him to appoint a chair for the discussion. Hopefully he gets to doing that soon.

Concerning the protection of national role-play elements, I think it would be wise to not just use an NS-calculator tool to determine the economic position of nations. A regional central bank could be used to opt-in on the regional economic system, where nations can state their national reserves and other economic specifications; supplementing the outcome of the adopted NS economy calculator.
