If you want a leader for this project, I would suggest looking to our Minister of Role Play, Corujea. This is really within their remit, although at some later point the role of "Central Bank Governor," if you wanted to have one, could be RP'd by another nation as designated.

Also, this is really shaping up to be a nice collaborative effort. Well done, DSA! While I may not adopt the regional currency as a replacement for my own, I still intend to be involved in the discussion as I'll likely find some way to play around with the regional economic system.

Despite the REALLY awesome cogwheel coins produced by Herrebrugh, I'm afraid the proposed economic system isn't for me, so I'll be keeping my Kronas (Swedish Crowns). It'll be interesting to work with the other economies of the DSA that will adopt this currency. ^^

The cogs are awesome. Unfortunately, as I stated previously, my currency cannot work if it can be exchanged with currencies that work with the concept of buying off the worker coins for their voluntary labor. As apposed to everyone being due a good standard of living to start with, and the greed motive a non-starter for enterprise, but present for the individual, in a small way. Oh and PS, I should have mentioned before, the regulator that controls the minimum wage, also sets the maximum. There is in addition, a separate regulator that decides the value of the work done, and takes that sum from the organization.

If any of that makes sense, I am aware that is controversial and not entirely functional in it's present form, still working on it.

I think we should first find out who actually wants to become part of the DSA-currency, and make a list of nations who want to join.

After that we can structurally discuss among likeminded nations the rules and regulations of a new currency.

I'd say we'll also need someone to lead the process forward; as in someone who establishes agenda-points, makes sure the discussions go as smooth as possible while also making everyone heard. A chairperson, in essence. Though, that's just my view in things.
I don't think it's necessary to first calculate how much people want to have the currency. That would be like voting for legislature before it's written. We obviously have several nations interested in at least incorporating a regional currency in RP and IC affairs. If some of them can be persuaded to create a fitting amendment to our Charter, then we'll see how it lands in the voting stage.

I agree with you on the chair; I would say our minister of Role-Play should be the right person to step in and orchestrate this affair. After all, this is his field of business.

Since I started the discussion I think I should be the chairman of the regional currency.

Since I started the discussion I think I should be the chairman of the regional currency.
I don't think that is reasonable. Coming up with a good idea doesn't constitute authority over its execution and doesn't necessarily imply you're the best man (or woman) for the job. I think our MRP or MDA should appoint someone for this function.

You could of course message them in order to sort this out and notify them of your willingness to fulfil this duty. That would seem the appropriate way to go about it to me.

Good its still being discussed. I see that the currency already has a name as if you go to the capital city page it says "DSA Credit" or some thing to that effect. I agree that optional agreed on currency would help with role play. HOWEVER different nations are different on economics so they might think about the amount of money differently. Personally I will not have the agreed apon "dsa credit" as my nations currency the "Puppy dog" suits the polotics of my particular nation.

Herrebrugh, I think the idea of debuting the new currency on 1 January 2014 is excellent. We should all strive to have things well established by then. For the moment, I would suggest that we need

  • A name for the currency;
  • A decision on what kind of central bank we want;
  • Designs for coins and bills;
  • All of this in writing so that Congress can have a bill to vote on.

Anything else we need in order to get this done?

We'll have to hurry... It's December already.

Let's start with the name: I suggest each participant simply lists their preference, after which it is at least clear which name is most popular. My goal would be, however, to eventually make a unanimous decision, so there would still be room for discussion afterwards.

If everyone agrees to this plan, I'll list my preference in advance: the Working Hour.
Getekend, Herrebrugh
