The Merits of Aiding a Desperate, Treacherous Enemy; Defending The Internationale - Solidarity with disagreeable comrades, or duped once again by our harassing bullies?

It appears that the Internationale is writing up a Declaration of Gratitude and Solidarity in recognition of the aid several regions gave to the Internationale, including the DSA. It might be to early to say, and it hasn't passed yet, but if it does, I think it could be the beginning of a glorious new era in TI-DSA relations. They even propose creating embassies with us, which I am sure isn't something they would say lightly, considering our strained relationship in the past. It seems they genuinely appreciate what we are doing to help them, and willing to move past any grudges.

If the Internationale can come forward bearing an olive branch, I think we are fully capable of accepting it gracefully. We shouldn't be sectarian or un-comradely! Yes, I think the Internationale have made mistakes, and have misspoken, however, I don't think we're all saints either. There have been times where people from both sides have been unnecessarily provocative, and made inflammatory statements in the heat of the moment. But, we need not dwell on this, and reopen old wounds. I suggest we simply agree to start afresh.

It has already passed, actually.
I was basing it on this post.

I guess they just need to sort out the smaller details.

Embassy exchange over my dead body...
If you insist.

Speaking as Delegate of TI,
Herrebrugh is correct that the comrade members of The Internationale have passed the decision to declare our gratitude and solidarity to your regions and others, and Lemur Isles is correct that the text of the declaration is being worked out and will be voted upon for final ratification by our membership in the coming weeks. No matter what the final text is, it is already decided that we will declare our gratitude to and solidarity with the Democratic Socialist Assembly.

In informal discussions with some of the comrades in the region, even some of the most "hard-line" among us (which includes me) that have in the past been outspoken against the liberalism of the DSA (which I say not judgmentally, just as a matter of fact - it's something a lot of the DSA's membership takes pride in) have changed our opinions and are now in favor of embassies with the DSA. If there will be opposition, I see it coming from cynical DSA members, not from The Internationale.

I will remain with my position that we should be open to the possibility of creating relations and embassies with TI, although not as a direct result of this single event - there is too much bad in our history together to change course so quickly.

I'm this will be a step towards positive relations with TI, but it takes time to earn the trust that is required for an embassy and I don't see that happening in the near future.

I really can't understand why The Internationale insists on imposing its will upon the DSA time and time again. What treachery. I can only imagine how much better off this game would be without their recurring odious presence.

The only thing more perplexing than this group of deceitful, maladjusted bullies repeatedly singling out our region for its harassment is the willingness for the more naive optimists in our own ranks to invite them back for a seventh time to stab us in the back. It's worth pointing out that not even one single fascist region has ever attempted to harm our region in any of the many ways in which TI already has. TI is in fact a more formidable, proven enemy and hazard to the safety of this leftist community than all the other forces of fascism in NS.

It is for this reason that an embassy with such a rouge, garbage region could never actually be allowed in the DSA (it would be a violation of the Charter, no matter how many semantic gymnastic routines you try to perform); so this is purely a sick fantasy on behalf of the brigade of judases in TI. I understand well enough the spirit in which the peace makers here are laboring; but I think your efforts, time, and energy would be better spent trying to form positive diplomatic relationships with leftist regions rather than the likes of The Internationale. Wake up already.

*I found this recent quote from Comrade Herrebrugh in the recent Fantastiana extra-trial discussion to be quite apropos to this discussion:
Herrebrugh

And someone who allows someone else a third chance after two betrayals is a fool.

So you do understand where I'm coming from ;)

We're not ashamed of being Red. Except for the members that aren't, that is.

Thank you for pointing out my spelling error in the most passive-aggressive way in which you are only capable ;) Good thing there are things like spelling errors to tease; beats the hell out of having to address the merits of my argument, right?

I'm not going to waste my time trying to change the mind of someone who so fervently believes that I'm worse than fascists. I don't have a certification in exceptional student education.
