To my comrades of the Eighth Cabinet of the DSA, greetings! I wish to congratulate all of you on being elected or reelected your respective posts in the Cabinet and look forward to working with all of you during this term. Below you will find the issues that I would like the Cabinet to discuss and commit to as its shared agenda. However, all of you are free and encouraged to provide any feedback, ideas and initiatives you would like the Cabinet to pursue over the coming weeks. For all newcomers, the purpose of these meetings is to discuss issues facing the region as a whole and receive status updates from ministers on their duties in the region. I shall ask each of you to regularly (preferably at least once every week or two) update the Cabinet on the status of your ministries and share any concerns. I shall provide each ministry with a small list of items to address, though you need not discuss all of these at once as long as you get to each of them eventually. With that being said and without further delay, I declare open the first meeting of the Eighth Cabinet. ---Agenda--- 1. Commendation for Haltari This was brought up by Gervase (if my memory serves me correctly, I forgot to archive the original telegram) after the start of nominations for this Cabinet. This would be to recognise Haltari's work as President and World Assembly Delegate and before that as Minister of Immigration and Regional Promotion. 2. Region Tags This had come up during my term as MoC, but little was ever done on this. I would like to get the Cabinet's and possibly Congress's opinion on this and edit them appropriately. 3. Review jobs offered in the 'Help Wanted' subforum If you want an assistant for your ministry, post the job in the subforum. We have been invited by Kryftland to participate, though no definite details about this event have yet emerged. 5. Leftist Alliance (Continuation of IRALL) The discussion resumed and stagnated on the NS forum. This would essentially be an alliance of leftist regions in the same vein as IRALL. 6. International and Embassy Expansion In continuation from last term, I would like to see us expand our links further and see a couple more embassies established. In that vein, I'd also like to see us encourage more nations, especially active ones, to serve as ambassadors. 7. Forum Activity Of particular concern to me is the lack of activity amongst the Congress outside of elections and a relatively slow forum in general. I would like to get some resolutions and laws passed through Congress to start the ball rolling, have the MoRP encourage more role plays in the Gymnasia and see the MDA do the same in the Great Debate Hall. 8. NS World Fair ---Items for individual ministries--- Secretary General (SG): 1. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.). 2. Organise an evaluation of the Seventh Cabinet. 3. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD. 2. Try to find new regions to potentially establish embassies with. 3. Monitor ambassadors for potential inactivity. 4. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Justice (MoJ): 1. Audit region for Civil Rights (CR), Political Freedoms (PF), and National Categories (NC) compliance. 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any. Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 2. Review and revise recruitment telegram draft. 3. Try to find more info about the Left Expo 2013. Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): 1. Come up with new debate ideas. 2. Try to come up with a new contest or game. 3. Try to update all the information in the NS Wiki. (This will be problematic, given that NSWiki is "down for maintenance".) --There should not be too much to change. Mainly population and a few other minor details. 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Role Play (MoRP): 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Keep the map current and updated. 3. Encourage new roleplays in the Gymnasia. 5. Appoint a chair for the DSA currency discussion. Edited by StJames, 7 Dec 2013, 20:53.

I'm planning on doing a new one today if I can get around to it. The last one was done in the previous term. |

Okay. I've also got an interim MDA (Suceavija) appointed and I'll start the by-election nominations at 19:00 EST (00:00 GMT) tomorrow. Or at least as close as I can to that time.

Well, I think it might be useful to sort through my telegram inbox and clear up some clutter. Some telegrams that might be of interest to the Cabinet: From The United Socialist States of Grobladonia From The Jellyland of Jultoplex From The Free Land of BigFreddy

The following nations have been notified for category violations: New Schweden Warzikstan Qoupoulos Smartopia Analdomination Lesser Aeonia Land of Confucian Humanity Democratic saxophone socialist republic Tsjaadi The Exiled Parties of East Britannia Rapidstatis 33 Heavens Bourdieuland UNITED STATES OF RUSSOA On the TGs, I think Grobladonia's suggestion is terrific -- and not at all because I was in the 5th Cabinet, of course. The United Regions concept looks a little sloppy, and since we don't have embassies with any of those regions it seems a little out of the blue as well. I'd be fine with passing on that one. BigFreddy's message is definitely not ready for prime time, either.

While the Peoples Socialism is legally on probation, I will temporarily leave the Cabinet meeting open to him so that he may check in and save himself from forfeiture of office. If he does not attend to business by the fifth, he'll forfeit office under the Charter. |

Just to que in other officers, my sister was playing on the game while I was in MExico on vaca and answered issues so my political rating dropped to average. TSJI and I are presently working on the situation. |

Welcome back, TPS. I hope things get back in order shortly. P.S. Could you tell us what's going on with recruitment? It seems like we're bleeding nations and aren't getting very many replacements at all. Edited by Gervase, 6 Dec 2013, 06:58.
