To my comrades of the Eighth Cabinet of the DSA, greetings! I wish to congratulate all of you on being elected or reelected your respective posts in the Cabinet and look forward to working with all of you during this term. Below you will find the issues that I would like the Cabinet to discuss and commit to as its shared agenda. However, all of you are free and encouraged to provide any feedback, ideas and initiatives you would like the Cabinet to pursue over the coming weeks. For all newcomers, the purpose of these meetings is to discuss issues facing the region as a whole and receive status updates from ministers on their duties in the region. I shall ask each of you to regularly (preferably at least once every week or two) update the Cabinet on the status of your ministries and share any concerns. I shall provide each ministry with a small list of items to address, though you need not discuss all of these at once as long as you get to each of them eventually. With that being said and without further delay, I declare open the first meeting of the Eighth Cabinet. ---Agenda--- 1. Commendation for Haltari This was brought up by Gervase (if my memory serves me correctly, I forgot to archive the original telegram) after the start of nominations for this Cabinet. This would be to recognise Haltari's work as President and World Assembly Delegate and before that as Minister of Immigration and Regional Promotion. 2. Region Tags This had come up during my term as MoC, but little was ever done on this. I would like to get the Cabinet's and possibly Congress's opinion on this and edit them appropriately. 3. Review jobs offered in the 'Help Wanted' subforum If you want an assistant for your ministry, post the job in the subforum. We have been invited by Kryftland to participate, though no definite details about this event have yet emerged. 5. Leftist Alliance (Continuation of IRALL) The discussion resumed and stagnated on the NS forum. This would essentially be an alliance of leftist regions in the same vein as IRALL. 6. International and Embassy Expansion In continuation from last term, I would like to see us expand our links further and see a couple more embassies established. In that vein, I'd also like to see us encourage more nations, especially active ones, to serve as ambassadors. 7. Forum Activity Of particular concern to me is the lack of activity amongst the Congress outside of elections and a relatively slow forum in general. I would like to get some resolutions and laws passed through Congress to start the ball rolling, have the MoRP encourage more role plays in the Gymnasia and see the MDA do the same in the Great Debate Hall. 8. NS World Fair ---Items for individual ministries--- Secretary General (SG): 1. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.). 2. Organise an evaluation of the Seventh Cabinet. 3. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD. 2. Try to find new regions to potentially establish embassies with. 3. Monitor ambassadors for potential inactivity. 4. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Justice (MoJ): 1. Audit region for Civil Rights (CR), Political Freedoms (PF), and National Categories (NC) compliance. 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any. Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 2. Review and revise recruitment telegram draft. 3. Try to find more info about the Left Expo 2013. Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): 1. Come up with new debate ideas. 2. Try to come up with a new contest or game. 3. Try to update all the information in the NS Wiki. (This will be problematic, given that NSWiki is "down for maintenance".) --There should not be too much to change. Mainly population and a few other minor details. 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired. Minister of Role Play (MoRP): 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Keep the map current and updated. 3. Encourage new roleplays in the Gymnasia. 5. Appoint a chair for the DSA currency discussion. Edited by StJames, 7 Dec 2013, 20:53.

TPS has the presentation and the link to the thread. If he doesn't post it soon, someone else will have to. |

he did. In the MoRP channel: the discussion about the (RP, proposed) Common Currency has advanced to more or less a consensus among the nations which already participated of the debate ( http://s1.zetaboards.com/DemocraticSocialist/topic/5294434/ ), but Arcomo suggested the MDA or MoRP sending out a region-wide telegram asking people to participating in the naming of this possible currency. I didn't feel like I, or Arahu, should do it without consulting with the cabinet first. What do you think about it? Edited by Corujean, 23 Nov 2013, 21:08.

It does look like there have been some interesting ideas floating around. This is probably in the MoRP's territory, so do you want to carry this forward, Corujea? |

since there is more or less a consensus on being a RP-only, non-compulsory thing, I would like to let it flow (even if my nation does not participate, by itself) |

Corujea, I think the masses are clamoring for a leader in the regional currency thread. Do you want to put together a list of things to be settled on before that RP can go into effect? It looks like Herrebrugh has some interesting ideas, and I'm sure the rest of the Cabinet would be glad to help. |

Hello everyone. I have some bad news for you all. I regret to inform you that due to IRL conflictions, I must resign from my position as MDA. As much as I want to keep my position, there are just way too many conflictions, and I know that someone else can do a much better job than I'm doing. I will still be active, but I just can't hold a position. I hope you all understand, and I hope that TSJI will handle this properly. I will wrap up loose ends before I leave, and will help the next MDA. Thank you all for your support, and I wish you well in the future. |

I hope we've all had a nice vacation this week (for those of us in the USA), but it's time for the Cabinet to get back to work. There are some pressing RP concerns and a raft of Charter amendment proposals that should still be commented on, so I hope we see some activity on those fronts. We also need to continue the conversation about the future of the International(e) and talk about recalling the nations that have gone over to buttress the region. I'm going to put out a significant proposal related to the Ministry of Justice in the near future as well, so I hope everyone keeps on their toes. |

Coincidentally, while we are talking about TI: Apparently there is some non-existent legislation floating around in the DSA that would "liberate" the Internationale. Luckily, no one is buying it, but this irritates me nonetheless. As far as I can divine, TI is seeking to impose a hidden password on the region. Now since that'll take a lot of influence on Misley's part, they'll obviously be seeking to keep as high a number and percentage of residents endorsing Misley as possible. As soon as the password is imposed, the region would be cleared and everyone moved over to the International (note the lack of an "e"). After that, it beats me. One nation might remain as a "museum-keeper", so that everything isn't completely wiped by an attempted refound. Or alternatively, TI might attempt a refound of their original region. Either way, once the password is imposed, we will likely see the return of our volunteers, whose assistance would no longer be required. |

I noticed that bit about the DSA "liberation." I'm sure we'll all be watching Tranzilvania and Garmolia with great interest. Additionally, recruitment seems to be flagging. Any news on that front, The Peoples Socialism? And thoughts on migrating the recruitment function to NS++? |

I've also been concerned on that front. I will be in contact with the Peoples Socialism to see what's going on and what I can help with. On a related matter, Gervase, do you have a compliance audit from recently? |
