Greetings, comrades of the Seventh Cabinet of the DSA! Congratulations on being elected or reelected to your respective Cabinet positions and I look forward to working with all of you in this new cabinet. The issues below are what the cabinet will be deliberating on, and like in previous cabinets, these recommendations are simply what I would like the 7th Cabinet to discuss as its shared agenda. All of you are free to provide any feedback, ideas, or additional issues that you believe should be discussed by our cabinet. For all new cabinet members, this meeting is designed to be a discussion of our region's issues as a whole and the various initiatives concerning each individual Cabinet member. Therefore, I recommend that all of you participate in this meeting at least once per meeting in order to keep the entire Cabinet informed of your various tasks, duties, and concerns. Each meeting, you will receive a small list of recommendations for your ministry to address, but you do not need to discuss all of your recommendations at once, as long as you get to each of them eventually. And with this statement, I officially open the 1st Cabinet Meeting of the 7th Cabinet. 3. Review jobs offered in the 'Help Wanted' subforum (if you want an assistant for your ministry, post the job in the subforum) 4. NS Cultural Expo I have not heard from the main nation about this in quite some time, but this is still a possibility. 5. Leftist Alliance (Continuation of IRALL) I think this discussion should start all over again, possibly on the NS forum, to try to create a large leftist alliance, like what was proposed with the IRALL treaty. 6. International and Embassy Expansion After some recent incidents, I think it is important to look for some new regions and approaching them about diplomatic relations. We already have one embassy (UDLS) on the way, but I would like to find some other new embassies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items for individual ministries to address: Secretary General (SG): 1. Along with me, encourage maximum participation for the Charter Revision so that it gets done. 2. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.) 4. Appoint an advisor, if desired Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD 3. Try to find new regions to potentially establish embassies with. Also, try to create some closer friendships and alliances with some of our existing embassies. 4. Appoint an advisor, if desired Minister of Justice/Head of Supreme Court (MoJ): 1. Audit region for Civil Rights (CR), Political Freedoms (PF), and National Categories (NC) compliance 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any --I would like to eject as few nations as possible until Charter Amendment #39 is completed, but report all of the violators anyway. --Last term, Ratateague and I would give extensions to improving nations in order to prevent ejections of nations that are trying to improve. Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 2. Try to find more info about the NS Cultural Expo Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): 1. Come up with new debate ideas. 2. Try to come up with a new contest or game, although we already have a lot at the moment. 3. Update all the information in the NS Wiki. --There should not be too much to change. Mainly population and a few other minor details. 4. Update all the information in the DSA Capitol 5. Appoint an advisor, if desired Minister of Cartography (MoC): (or interim MoC) 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Add nations from map opt-in subforum who request placement on map 3. Essentially just keep the map current and updated Edited by Haltari, 26 Sep 2013, 04:07.

Well, I don't know if anyone noticed this buried under Grob's essay. While looking for Misley's thread in the Great Debate Hall, I noticed that unibot posted this thread about a 2013 NS World Fair. Now as MIRP, part of my job involves interregional expos. However, I would like the Cabinet's opinion on one matter: Part of the announcement is that there will a bidding process to determine a "host" for the event. Should we enter a bid to host the event and (since I don't know anything about the previous World Fair) what our bid should entail? Now I will state that I do have an idea for a theme: "Celebrating Every Nation". I think it fits in with our philosophy that every nation is important and has something to bring to a region and the world. |

I definitely think we should apply as a host nation, and from my conversations with unibot, I'm sure he would support. However, the theme could be reworded to "Individuality within NationStates" or something like that. |

It's nice to hear that unibot would be supportive, Haltari, though frankly I'm not surprised. I also like the rewording of the theme you proposed, so I might use that in my proposal. I'm going to try to get a more detailed bid drawn up later tonight and submit it to you lot for Edited by StJames, 16 Sep 2013, 23:46.

Alright. Also, I am actually friends with uni, and he has stated that he really likes the DSA (he is a charter nation and former resident). That's why at least regarding him we have a decent shot. |

I really like the idea of bidding for the World's Fair. Let's try to get something definite drawn up once the Charter business is dealt with. I also got a message from the Minister of Justice for VF talking about having a summit of the Ministers of Justice of our embassy regions, which is great since it meshes with my priorities for this term perfectly. I'll keep everyone abreast of the developments in that area. |

We have a embassy request from Anova, a small democratic region, which was founded by a former DSA member, Windport(he ran for MDA at one point). Anyways what do you guys think of this? |

I was about to ask Terlibe about this, but I think it's a possibility. At the moment they pass our requirements although there is no clear reference to leftism in their region besides the fact that they have a democratic government. |

I'm going to do my "in re" thing again just because I can. In re NS World Fair Gervase, I'm currently writing something up, however, I am a little stuck at the moment. I honestly do not know much about the last World Fair, so suggestions for improvement is something I'll need help on. Luckily, unibot is a Charter nation and lover of the DSA (which might not particularly help relations with TI [please don't smack me for bringing that up]), so our application is sure to get noticed. In re Suceavija Why has he not come here yet? Are we chopped liver? Do we have bad breath? Are we ugly? Or maybe he's too busy in his clandestine Secret-Happy-Fun-Times-Forced-Labour-Sunshine-and-Smiles-Torture-Death-Summer-Camps. |
