Well it has been a very hard week with all of the disputes with TI. I hope the next two weeks will be more peaceful. In the meantime, I think we should catch up on domestic issues. Items for the entire Cabinet to address: Postponed until later 2. Review jobs offered in the 'Help Wanted' subforum (if you want an assistant for your ministry, post the job in the subforum) Needs to be added to the next vote 5. Complete commendation for Grolsch Needs to be written and added to the next vote. We have to decided who will write this. 6. Prepared ministerial statements workshop (ongoing project) This has been largely inactive for some time, but this is not a priority at the moment. Needs to be written and added to the next vote. Liberals of America agreed to right this in a few weeks, but we could choose someone else if we want this done sooner. This has been out of use for quite some time, but it could be a good way to improve communication on the forums, if reinstated. 9. Proposed back up Secretary-General and President in the case of inactivity (Grobladonia) 10. PF and CR requirements amendment (Currently Being written by Suceavija) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items for individual ministries to address: Secretary General (SG): 1. Determine if appropriate to declassify previous closed-door Cabinet meeting notes --> this should not be done right now. We are still in the dispute with the Internationale. 4. Create Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section in 'Introduction' forum, edit 'About the Democratic Socialist Assembly' to include link to FAQ's. 5. Make sure everything is updated (Amendments, Charter nations, etc.) Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA): 1. Appoint ambassadors to interregional partners (I don't know if any new ambassadors have been appointed) 2. Make embassy recommendations to P/WAD 3. Prepare interregional intelligence report for CAB --Interregional partners/allies --Interregional adversaries --Other regions of interest, if any Minister of Justice/Head of Supreme Court (MoJ): --There are quite a few violators at the moment, and they need to be informed of this. 2. Make recommendations to P/WAD for nations to eject, if any Minister of Immigration/Regional Promotion (MIRP): 2. Verify if/when interregional leftist fair is being held Minister of Domestic Affairs (MDA): --Possibly the Venezuelan one you were talking about Minister of Cartography (MoC): 1. Verify all nations on map are: --Existing --Reside in the region (domestic puppets okay, too) 2. Add nations from map opt-in subforum who request placement on map Edited by Haltari, 8 May 2013, 03:33.

I closed the Future of the DSA debate, and removed it from the Current Major Business. I agree with Terlibe that you have been an amazing MDA so far. |

For years I considered that I was lazy. In recent months I learned that in fact I'm a lazy workaholic . How does that work, you may ask? Well, I like doing stuff but I also like my free time, so I always try to find the quickest, most efficient way to get things done. My work here is an example .

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to add an entry about this Second Exodus from the DSAlliance I've been hearing about into the Wiki and Capitol. It seems like an important moment in the history of both regions. The only problem is that I know next to nothing about it. EDIT: I just got the idea for a thread called "Stories of the Second Exodus" in which people that were involved could tell how it happened from their perspective. What do you think? Kasperiah has made a mistake in the Antifascism poll and voted Unknown instead of Neutral. They made a post in the thread about this. Could this be fixed? And just as importantly SHOULD it be fixed? I'm not sure whether to tamper with the results or not, even for this. Terlibe, Haltari, what do you think? |

It can't be changed but you can count Kasperiah's vote as a neutral, and it definitely should be counted that way because we do not want to misrepresent anyone's vote in any way.

I'm not sure what this second exodus you are referring to is, but I think you are talking about CMK take-over of the DSAlliance a few months ago. For a while, CMK ceased to exist, and a number of nations like Conpatraia, Gullud, Arabian Democracies, Delgrae, and Nava Siam led the region as a free democracy. I believe this was the golden period for the DSAlliance, and their population steadily grew after the Great Split. However, in late 2012, CMK returned, and s/he began suppressing RMB posts and imposing her tyranny on the region. She eventually began banning and ejecting nations from the DSAlliance and ending all democracy in the region. As a result, many nations began arriving here, and as MIRP, I was told to offer the ejected nations a temporary asylum until CMK ended her oppression. By mid-January the DSAlliance had dropped from about 40 nations to less than 20 nations, but only 6-7 were actually active. Nations like Conpatraia, Gullud, and Arabian Democracies moved here until the DSAlliance would be safe to return to. During CMK's recent inactivity, Arabian Democracies actually returned to the DSAlliance because it seemed safe. However, now that CMK has been re-founded a third time, Arabian Democracies has been once again banned and ejected from the region today. |

Yes, that was the second exodus I was referring to. I believe it is an important event in the history of both regions and should be given its own place in our history book. Also, Sucaevija and Ratateague mentioned in the "Where do we go from here" thread that something might need to be done in order to make them feel more at home. So I was thinking of starting a discussion where they could tell their stories and give an "on the ground" view of the events that could then be analyzed and turned into a short history of the event, like The Great Split. This might make at least a few of them step out from the shadows and maybe get more involved later on. Still, I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. On a completely different note, since my name appears in brackets next to point 9 of the agenda I've realized that maybe you are waiting for my input. So, here it is .Now as I see it, there are three possible options for this: Opalaland, the assistant of the Sec-Gen or the MDA. I propose Opalaland because they are a trusted member of the community and they have expressed that they would do it if asked. The disadvantages this would be that some might see that as a breach of the neutrality of the Founder and that Opalaland (as far as I can tell) does not log in all that often. Another option would be the assistant of the Sec-Gen, simply because it would be logical for the assistant to fill in for the Sec-Gen in such an important task. On the other hand the assistant is not an elected official and some may have a problem with that, but not necessarily. The third option would be the MDA because elections are a domestic matter and the MDA is an elected Cabinet member. I can't think of any disadvantages at this point, but I may be biased. So as to not overlap with the Sec-Gen or P/WAD, the back-up would kick in only if those two don't begin the nomination/election process 48 hours after they were supposed to. There are a lot more details to go through, but this is a rough outline of what I think could be done. What do you think? |
