Greetings to you, my fellow comrades of the Fourth Cabinet of the DSA!

I congratulate you all for being elected/reelected to your Cabinet positions and I eagerly look forward to working with all of you this term. Below are my recommendations and wishes for what I would like this Cabinet to approve and commit to as its shared agenda. I invite each of you to provide any feedback and to also provide any additional ideas or initiatives that you would like us to pursue over the term.
For those who are new, I aim to conduct closed Cabinet meetings each week that generally begin and end each Sunday; and so I ask that each of you check in to these meetings at least once per week to update everyone on the status of your respective Ministries. Your input need not be more than a sentence or two as there are always times where not a lot is going on; though I ask that each of you at least provide that much for the rest of your fellow Cabinet members. I will typically have a small list of Items for each ministry to address each meeting; so you will know what I am looking for in terms of your input.
Without further ado, here is my agenda for this term:

1)Regional Tags: Each term, I like to get the cabinet’s opinion about the tags we assign to our region. Currently, we have the tags:
Map
Democratic,
Enormous
Socialist
Offsite Forums
NSwiki
Regional Government

I would like to get each Minister’s opinion as to whether you would like to add, remove or keep the same tags for this term. Here is the link to the NS tag cloud:
http://www.nationstates.net/page=list_regions

Tags that have been proposed recently: “Liberal” “Eco-Friendly” ”Artistic” & “Creative”

2) Formal documents and prepared statements:

A: Ministry of Foreign Affairs
-Chain of command: MFA & President shall determine an official position, the MFA shall then work with the Ambassadors to communicate clear, uniformed and formal message to our interregional partners. Post prepared statements and do not personally comment or respond to reactions to statements unless they are made by officials from that region. Otherwise, get permission from or at least coordinate a response with the MFA to
-When/when not to issue statements from the Min of Foreign Affairs - stay on message
-No personal statements from Ambassadors while working on behalf of the MFA or the DSA during interregional conflicts

B: Secretary General
-Create telegram format for various functions such as establishing elections, notifications, calendar notices
-Congressional roster

C: Ministry of Domestic Affairs
-Prepare formal greetings for new nations for the RMB and a personal welcoming messages to be sent by the MFA to each new nation as well.
-Birthday greetings when birthdays are listed on the calendar
-Contest declarations, congratulatory messages, etc.

3) Review of Charter
-Each minister shall review their job descriptions in the Charter and determine if it is clear to them what is expected of them or if clarification or footnotes to other sections would be more helpful or clear
-Determine if there are any amendments you would like to make to the Charter at this time.

4) Other concerns, suggestions or ideas from you

5) UCR Conference:
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=223199

What do we all think of this?

In what way would lose WA-members?
Simple: if our members join the UDL, that means their WA-membership will be used for foreign missions, meaning we lose WA-members here.

Well, I didn't really view it as them taking our WA-members. I figured that since we are a growing region, we could help them get attention and members from all around the world. Also, I think most of our members are loyal to us and wouldn't move to the UDL, and even if they did, they would most likely still vote with us on WA and SC proposals, and we would still be in close contact with them. But like I said, I think the UDL are looking more for promotion from us, rather than our members.

I don't think you get what I mean.

In order to take part in defending, one needs to remove WA-membership from ones main nation to use for puppets. I'm not afraid people will leave us for the UDL, however, I do want to note that the dwindling of DSA members in the WA here could potentially weaken our position in the future.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. But after a the UDL defends a region and elects back the WA Delegate, can those nations who moved their WA membership to a puppet, move it back to their nation?

Anyway, my other point stands, regardless of the misunderstanding. I truely do not think many, DSA members that are not already part of the UDL will help them in there defensive missions, meaning that not many nations will move their WA membership, and even if some do, what's a few WA members?

That'd be highly impractical, and I didn't either during my days of raiding/defending.

And my point also still stands: we won't get much of an advantage out of this deal. In fact, I can only name disadvantages.

We must put others before ourselves sometimes, Herrebrugh, that's what we're all about. But I have a question for you. How is us loosing WA-members a disadvantage to us? I am not saying it isn't, I would just like to hear your answer.

In this case I disagree. I think it's foolish to accept an accord that would be of disadvantage to us, just so we can make a tiny contribution to "Defenderism" (and, to be honest, I think we, as a region, should be staying 100% out of raiding/defending anyway).

And I already told you: if we have less WA-nations that means we are weaker in the wake of a potential invasion. This is purely hypothetical, of course, but I still think it's a point worth noting.

Relations with the UDL does not mean we would be involved in raiding or defending, we would just be be supporting the UDL and help them in recruiting world-wide.

Also, on the event that we are raided, any members we lost would come rigt to our aid along with the entire UDL. So we aren't weakening ourselves. The UDL would always be readily at our assistance, and in my view, that is an invaluable advantage.

It means we support defenders, which involves us indirectly in raiding/defending.

And, if we have a strong WA-membership at home, we don't need the UDL for our defence.

Yes, indirectly as in we support what they are doing and helping them recruit members from around the world.

An embassy with the UDL would not weaken us at all, in my opinion. Any WA-members we lose (which I believe will be very few) wont actually be "lost," they would just be used to liberate regions that have fallen to raiding (which we are outspokenly against). All of the WA-members that we lose (if any) will always be there if we need them for use against a raid (which most likely will not happen). In the unlikely event that we are raided, why does it matter if the endorsements come from WA-members in our region that are not affiliated with the UDL, or WA-members that are affiliated with the UDL? Personally, I'd rather support a defense group, (at a possible loss of a few WA-members), and have to call on them during a raid, than not support them, and take on the raid ourselves.

Also, why can WA-members reside here in the DSA and then go on missions with the UDL to return here after the missions?
